The embody is one of the best Chair I have sat on. I also bought mine used (like - new) for a fairly good price a couple months back. My back pain is not really noticeable anymore, my thighs are feeling great from the balanced foam, and the great thing is the ability to stretch backwards on both shoulders. For you or anyone else who can compare: How does this chair compare to your previous SecretLab? I thought I would enjoy the SL Titan 2022 but the bottom cushion is very uncomfortable to me. No back pain in it though. Would you recommend this chair (HM Embody) if you had the money? Is it that much more comfortable than the SL?
sl titan gives me back pain ive had it for a year now, i currently ordered a herman miller embody logitech edition at the 25% sale there is ongoing right now and hope that will be a better investment further down the line. Can update my comment once it arrives if youre interested to know my comparison between both after ive tried it in person.
The Embody seat pan is certainly more comfy than the SL Titan (at least, the 2020 version that I owned). When comparing the 2020 SL Titan and HM Embody, the only losses with the Embody in my mind are that a.) you don’t get a full recline and b.) no headrest (will be fixed soon if you are prepared to buy a third party one). Important to keep in mind that the Embody is IMO unforgiving when it comes to posture - it demands that you sit up correctly (e.g., your lower back needs to be pushed up against the back of the chair), but I don’t consider that a downside.
Haworth makes a chair very similar to the embody called the Fern, it's the tied/the top of most office chair reviewers lists like Btod TV and Ahnestly. It's also quieter than the Embody.
@@comfytechquest Yeah, it doesn't get the media attention but it's a very solid competitor. The Embody is great, too obviously though. I haven't heard anyone have serious/any issues with either one.
I'm perfectly happy with my $140 chair. It may wear out faster but in 12 years of repeat buying it is still greatly cheaper than these $2,000+ premium chairs. I have no issues with comfort with chairs so might just be the way I sit or the way my body is built (I'm semi-athletic 5'11" tall 180 lbs.)
My previous company had a couple of Aerons I never found them comfortable at all. I'm very tempted to go for the Herman Miller x Logitech Embody but I'm hesitant about whether I'll like it or not.
I’d say the Aeron and Embody have a very different feel given that the former is a mesh seat. Perhaps HM offer a returns period in your region, so you can try the Embody?
Haha.. me too--- i got ergohuman elite 2 used 1 year old. Did think i making an upgrade in comfort. My ass is hurting more and more if i sit on these mesh chair. So i did put 5cm foam pad from old bed memory foam topper. And then another 5cm. Now with 10cm foam- which compress till 1cm under load- i can use chair somehow ok. My old no name char was more comfortable on seat pad. At least my chair had head-rest and did cost only 150gbp :))
@@comfytechquest I've only tested those features in the store, haven't owned a Aeron or other HM chair with that function. But I see it viable when wanting to focus more or gaming, just to fast come to a forward tilt position. Now I just use the backfit adjustment but its a knob and takes some time doing it every time, so would have been practical with a forward tilt adjustment imo :)
Thanks for your elaborate video. I agree with everything you've said here even though I haven't owned my Embody for that long yet. But after a couple of days and researching adjustments, my back couldn't thank me more! Edit: I also added the high density foam under and its a game changer for chairs before March 2021!
@@comfytechquest I had to turn the back tilt all the way loose, sit with my butt closest to the back so it felt like a lumbar touching, then slowly turn the back tilt toward my back whilst sitting up as straight as possible. Once the top of the back touched my back lightly, that’d be enough and I can sit up and lean back comfortably now. And the foam helped my tailbone not be in mid air so that pain was gone. Also I felt I got used to it and the chair was broken in. Lastly, your feet have to be flush on the ground
so its on sale right now 25% off from HM at least in the US. i could get one for a similar price, about $850ish USD. but i read that the warranty does not transfer. i'm worried enough about this to consider spending the extra $500. i hope to get at least a decade or two of use out of htis, instead of spending $200 every other year on a chair that just breaks down & just makes my back even worse.
I literally just ordered mine about an hr ago for this very reason. I saw the 25% off sale ends today so had to jump on it. And here I am still researching if I made the right choice in shelling out that much money for a chair. Fingers crossed it gets rid of a lit of the aches and pains that come with sitting in my desk chair for long hrs🤞
@@drh7019 i just went into the HM showroom a couple hours ago & picked one up out of a similar fear lol. i'm still considering returning it for a used one & pocketing that $500. it's very comfortable (and it really is surprisingly loud) but i need to use it for a bit longer to really tell
I tried the chair at a shop and found it super underwhelming. I wonder if it’s one of those things that you realize is beneficial over time? It’s hard for me to separate the hype from the genuine review.
I assure you that this video is a genuine review, having sat in the chair for 4k hours at the time of recording. I got my logitech embody a couple days ago and I love it. Amazingly through a crazy set of coincidences I actually ended up getting refunded AND got the brand new chair delivered. I think it's a great chair and I'm super happy to have it, but I'm not so sure i would have felt the same had I actually had to pay $1600 (or 2k) for it. If you have that kind of money to splurge then for sure go for it, but don't break the bank for it because I'm guessing a chair half the price would likely come close to the comfort of the embody gaming. As for no headrest, i for sure think it needs one. My atlas headrest is coming tomorrow! Unfortunately I had to pay the $200 for that one though 😉
I think modifying a chair after you buy it because it's not doing something correct is bad. That's why it's concerning for the embody that there's areas you have to upgrade or you'll be uncomfortable.. Doesn't sound good at all for the price
Doesn't matter how comfortable they try to make something, the human body isn't designed to stay in one place for hours. You have to get up and stretch.
Everyone thinks they’re a reviewer 😂 The Embody is hands down one of the best chairs out there. I would also put the underrated Steelcase Amia on the same level.
i gotta agree with you man. everyone bashing on armrests about not being 4d or something. but they are actually all i need. i can totally live without 4d just for the sole fact how low they could go. i didnt see that on any other chair that caught my eye and i've had my eye on quite the few. also...i need to hear what do you think of atlas headrest. i aint gonna spoil it :D great video bud. this info could actually help people than the regular review no cap. gg love the embody. i'm rocking logitech version.
Thanks for the comment. I’ve not tried the gaming Embody (aside from half an hour in a HM shop) so can’t really compare it to the standard Embody (+ custom foam) that I have.
I agree - I don't think I could justify paying full price for the chair; my review is within the context of me buying the chair second hand (3 years old at the time of purchase).
@comfytechquest frank review ??? Too expensive for what I expected... its maybe 800 bugs worth... the seat and the arms are too hard.. headrest missing spend another +200 for that... soooo meeeeehhh its like a glock, whoch you keep upgrading until tou have a viper... I donno 😅
Honestly, I'd say if the Secret Lab Titan works for you, that's great! I found that my upper back was quite sore after extended Secret Lab Titan (2020) use, otherwise I would gladly have kept the chair and a chunk of change :)
The price of the chair is comical and I cannot justify it. I could easily buy it, but I highly doubt it's 2 grand comfy. The prices on office chairs these days are comical to insulting. Taking advantage of idiots. Time to take a chair I like and just modify it into an office chair. It'll last much longer and look better.

@@jjoohhhnn indeed, I’d certainly consider the Fern if I were to buy a chair today, in 2023. I’ve not sat in it yet.
I have no issues with comfort with chairs so might just be the way I sit or the way my body is built (I'm semi-athletic 5'11" tall 180 lbs.)
atlas head rest is avaiable for order
look forward to the review
Mine has just arrived! Woohoo 😃
Here's the video I've just posted up on the Atlas Headrest for the Embody: ua-cam.com/video/IyM4URKK5Sw/v-deo.html
My previous company had a couple of Aerons I never found them comfortable at all.
I'm very tempted to go for the Herman Miller x Logitech Embody but I'm hesitant about whether I'll like it or not.
I’m with ya and I find it hard to justify the price
I’d say the Aeron and Embody have a very different feel given that the former is a mesh seat. Perhaps HM offer a returns period in your region, so you can try the Embody?
Can you make a video about the atlas headrest?
I’ll see what I can do 😊
Here's the video I've just posted up on the Atlas Headrest for the Embody: ua-cam.com/video/IyM4URKK5Sw/v-deo.html
Haha.. me too--- i got ergohuman elite 2 used 1 year old. At least my chair had head-rest and did cost only 150gbp :))
what foam did you get?
The details are in the comments of this video of mine: ua-cam.com/video/ajHjDt9Vf6o/v-deo.html
I really enjoyed ur style of videos u should post more ur vids r sick 😄
@@maniaobby what a nice comment!! Let me know if there’s something in particular you’d like me to talk about!
Damn, your room is the size of a box of matches...good to know you have a good chair! I liked specific details in your video
I consider it a bit of a luxury to have the room at all but yes, it makes recording these videos a little challenging 😃
I miss forward tilt mechanism on this, would have been nice when gaming especially on the gaming embody
Interesting - I’ve not seen many folks mention that. Do/did you use forward tilt on an Aeron, or another chair?
@@comfytechquest I've only tested those features in the store, haven't owned a Aeron or other HM chair with that function. But I see it viable when wanting to focus more or gaming, just to fast come to a forward tilt position. Now I just use the backfit adjustment but its a knob and takes some time doing it every time, so would have been practical with a forward tilt adjustment imo :)
I would like to add that the seat pan is perfect for me as a n 80kg average height male.
Great to know we are on the same page there! I’m currently around 85kg, working towards 80 ;-)
How do you add foam to a chair? Did you have to cut into the cloth?
No, the material on the seat pan unhooks so you can slide foam underneath. There’s a video on how to do it on my channel.
Just got a notification from FedEx UK my parcel is due tomorrow, and they're wanting £40 for import fees. Did you get stung?
No I don’t recall getting hit with an import fee, I think Atlas worked the shipping fees out correctly for me 👍
Thanks for your elaborate video. I agree with everything you've said here even though I haven't owned my Embody for that long yet. But after a couple of days and researching adjustments, my back couldn't thank me more!
Edit: I also added the high density foam under and its a game changer for chairs before March 2021!
This is great to know! What adjustments were key to you having a happier back?
@@drh7019 Can you give us a feedback?
I tried the chair at a shop and found it super underwhelming. I wonder if it’s one of those things that you realize is beneficial over time? It’s hard for me to separate the hype from the genuine review.
I assure you that this video is a genuine review, having sat in the chair for 4k hours at the time of recording. As noted in the video, I do not get that "ahhh" feeling when initially sitting in the chair, but I have found it comfortable on my spine after extended usage, and I'm still using it 2 years after purchasing it. Hope that helps.
Atlas Is selling embody Headrest now 🤍
Just got an email confirmation that mine has shipped. Woohoo!!!!
@@comfytechquest Congrats...I guess...
Definitely Do a video on the headset and the shipping delay And how the embody's back support help while leaning forward to play competitively
@@alostcat thanks for the suggestion. Are you a gamer yourself? If so, do you crank the back fit up while gaming? That’s the only way I can think of to support a “lean forward” gaming posture.
@@comfytechquest I haven't Brought the Embody yet but I plan on buying a logi x embody
I lean forward (only the seat my back won't touch the backrest ) so how to sit while gaming
Here's the video I've just posted up on the Atlas Headrest for the Embody: ua-cam.com/video/IyM4URKK5Sw/v-deo.html
I would agree in terms of it being difficult to justify the brand new price for the Embody. Let me know what you think of the headrest, I’m a fan 😊
I think modifying a chair after you buy it because it's not doing something correct is bad. That's why it's concerning for the embody that there's areas you have to upgrade or you'll be uncomfortable.. Doesn't sound good at all for the price
I haven’t yet found a perfect chair, so went with the mod option. If you find a perfect chair, let me know 😃
Doesn't matter how comfortable they try to make something, the human body isn't designed to stay in one place for hours. You have to get up and stretch.
Totally agree with this!! Thanks for stopping by.
Everyone thinks they’re a reviewer 😂 The Embody is hands down one of the best chairs out there. I would also put the underrated Steelcase Amia on the same level.
try the atlas headrest

i gotta agree with you man.
everyone bashing on armrests about not being 4d or something. but they are actually all i need. i can totally live without 4d just for the sole fact how low they could go.
i didnt see that on any other chair that caught my eye and i've had my eye on quite the few.
also...i need to hear what do you think of atlas headrest. i aint gonna spoil it :D
great video bud. this info could actually help people than the regular review no cap.
gg love the embody.
i'm rocking logitech version.
Thanks for stopping by and the kind words! Be on the lookout for an Atlas headrest review on the channel ;-)
is your office in a closet? looks kind of cool
It’s certainly the smallest room in the house, I do feel lucky to have it as my man cave though 😃
Must annoy you as much as me that the don't want to offer the headrest in the balance fabric.
You are absolutely spot on - I love the balance fabric!
nice vid m8
Thank you very much!

good news everyone, atlas has a new headrest for embody lol
I’ve got a video on that if you are interested 😄
@@comfytechquest too late watched it already! happy chappy ftw, looking forward to your other reviews
god damn, i have to build up for this fortune :(
yeah indeed, I have a requirement for head..rest too :D, joke aside great review !

The new gaming chair is painful to sit on. I added a foam pad and it still sucks.
This one in the video?
@@Slay_No_More yes
@@Slay_No_More Yes. I sent mine back. It may work for you. Everyone is different.
Thanks for the comment. I’ve not tried the gaming Embody (aside from half an hour in a HM shop) so can’t really compare it to the standard Embody (+ custom foam) that I have.
Seems harsh having to make all those adjustments on such a costly chair tbh :/
I agree - I don't think I could justify paying full price for the chair; my review is within the context of me buying the chair second hand (3 years old at the time of purchase).
I payed 2k for my new one
Congrats on the purchase! How are you finding it?
@comfytechquest frank review ??? Too expensive for what I expected... its maybe 800 bugs worth... the seat and the arms are too hard.. headrest missing spend another +200 for that... soooo meeeeehhh its like a glock, whoch you keep upgrading until tou have a viper... I donno 😅
I feel like the Secret Lab Titan is the best bang for the buck. I mean it is firm, but for us bigger folk at least it doesn't bottom out.
Thanks for the fresh perspective Elim! So far, I too have not managed to justify the full RRP - my current Embody is second hand.
I’d be interested to learn more about your idea - what chair(s) do you like and plan to modify?
yeah. squeakfest for 1.8$kk not to mention absence of headrest... what a joke
Agreed re. The headrest (so I now have the Atlas headrest). I got used to the squeaking, doesn’t bother me now.
