Yes this is my horn, the R&N was nice enough to let me mount it on the 3055 for the day. Its a basic Nathan P-5 with a "0" bell added, and a "5" bell which has been shortened. The chord for those musically inclined A, C#, E, F#, A, C#, E. Ed K.
LOL Ed, you let them borrow your signature horn!? Send 3055 down here, I want to hear it! I love the R&N guys, the most character on any railroad, true greatness.
That's great that a big railroad let you mount the horn a a engine, it sounds great! The openning shot is awsome, and I love the R&N switcher on a road train.
When my dad was younger, he and his brothers wanted to mount a locomotive horn underneath the hood of their car and blow it behind a tanker truck at a rr crossing. Probably good that they never did but funny none the less
You are one lucky person there Ed... I wish I could get myself a train horn some time... Not to go around and scare people either. Could you email me the best raw footage so I can make it useable by MSTS? All credit will be given if I release it.
I will say, the P7 is one of the best train horns I've ever heard.
ikr x3
Makes me wonder why they aren’t an actual horn in production.
I have to agree
Same
@AmtrakGuy365 same

@@ArturoRailProductions lol
Literally any Nathan p or n is a magical horn.
Note also that it was on the train on the 7th day of the 7th month of the year -- a 7-chime train horn! Very nice!
Ed Kaspriske is the foremost authority when it comes to diesel air horns. This horn is all the proof the world needs.
Amazing sound.

Great sound Ed! I've always liked your P-7
GREAT-sounding horn Ed. Would love to hear that on one of the SD50's pushing 425 around.
I remember I heard this horn on RBMN #3055 even today it has a awesome K3LA.
That horn must be brutal on the ears lol! Nice catch!
You got a winner Ed! It sounds excellent.
Interesting. That's a full blown iron horse symphony. Thanks for sharing it!

Seems like the switchers have the best horns
Music to my ears
Certainly gets the point across, doesn't it? Very nice!
That is a sweet horn!
@golfurguy
I really don't know anymore, I created this one back in 1989.

I hate those damn ditch lights - give me a rotating Mars light any day of the week.
What a beast!!!
Beautiful 👌
Why does the p7 actually have a good horn
sounds like a major seventh great
perfect sounding if that SD40 was blowing through at top speed
still epic
Beautiful...
Sweet horn and very rare indeed!
Awesome horn.
what trumpets does it use
Mais harmônico que o Nathan P5!!!
ahhhhhhhhhh ok. that explains why it sounds alot like my P-5. :D i love it. i have an RS5T as well.
Wow an A Major triad and a F# minor 7th chord played together! A-C#-E-F#-A-C#-E. And yes I do have perfect pitch.
It doesn't, I modified a P-5 Nathan to this 7 chime.

Ed K. Im called ,,Nathan P7LLA,,

That is an awesome horn. Is that the P7 you made?
M5 sounding 7 Chimed Nathan horn P family
Its P7(LLA)
@@jamisintheair6657 oops
Neat.
Ugh
Ed, can you still order a P-0 from Nathan directly? I remember reading somewhere that you had done so, but that was a good few years ago by now.
im speechless
Nice!
Ryan Seals cool!
What is the tuning?
A below middle C, C#, E, F#, A, C#, E.
New cast or old cast?
Iron Horse :)
What # bells did you add to this custom job?
RS5T was trashed. And the P7 the king
and i thought K5LA's had alot of chimes! sounds a tad out of tune however...
Superior!!!
It sounds great! How did you get permission to put that horn on that locomotive?
M5!
Yep

I can see why these were banned
That sounds creepy.
