      @@12chrisrob Sorry about the delayed reply, I apparently don't check my UA-cam notifications often enough. 🙂 There is definitely a sound improvement, the Dayton worked fine, but did not have as much power which I think is noticeable with sound clarity. My DTA1 also started having some issues, I think only one speaker was working. I can probably fix it if I tear it apart and take a look, but for inexpensive as it was, it really wasn't a big deal to replace it.

    Hi ALS
    I liked your video about this amp, it has good facilities but, to make full use of it (to play vinyl, CDs, etc.), this amp will need a pre-amp and as such is there a Fosi Audio pre-amp to go with it?

    • @masonwilde1464
      @masonwilde1464 3 роки тому

      What do you mean it needs a preamp? The volume control is the preamp. It's an integrated amplifier, not a power amp, so it will work with and adjust the amplification level of any line level source such as your phone or CD player. Vinyl is the one exception, you would need a phono preamp if your turntable does not have one built in.
      If you really want a preamp though, Fosi has options at fosiaudio.com/collections/preamplifier.

      @@masonwilde1464
      Hi Mr Wild
      You asked, "What do you mean it needs a preamp?". Well, I was thinking that since this amp only has one set of RCA inputs then connecting a preamp to it, that has three additional RCA input including one for a turntable, would be a good idea.
      So, that's what I meant by attaching a preamp.

    • @roberthindle5146
      @roberthindle5146 2 роки тому

      I believe Fosi do have a pre-amp in their range.
      I'm not sure what market that would fit into though. This product is very good but is really aimed at Spotify/iTunes users rather than a HiFi separates setup. That said, most turntables and other playback devices send pre-amped line-out anyway. Be aware that this only has one line-in.

      @@als-techreview hey, does sub vol and freq change the freq and vol of rca output too, or only the freq and vol of the amp output? I was planning to buy a bt30d and a bt20a, so i would have the 50w x2 for my high efficiency bookshelf stereo on my desk at my pc wich gets really loud even at 5w of power sp 50w would be deafening, and the 100w sub output set at mid-high freq to a speaker/subwoofer i put under a table wich creates high frequency bass of around 60-130hz, which resonates at the corner of the room where my pc setup is really loudly at 5 watts, that thing was insane, and if i play 100hz which is my room resonance frequency it was like 150db and painful way too loud , and put my 250w rms jbl sub in my closet wich creates loud deep bass of around 20-60hz wich id going to be powered by the bt20a bridged creating 200w max, i actually found out by playing with my other speaker/subwoofer which i powered with a 5w bluetooth amplifier and it sounded like a 500w rms car audio, so... , and the speaker/subwoofer is a 30w rms 190w max 5 inch car speaker, all because i put it in my closet lol, the second i open my closet, boom gone, no bass at all. But i have to be able to make it so that the subwoofer under the table is high freq and thr sub low freq, but since im hooking up the bt20a to the bt30d with rca, i need to know if changing the freq options on bt30d will affect the rca output going to the bt30a aswell not just the output of the bt30d, if yes what can i do? Also im kinda new to this stuff so does changing freq change like a range? Like for example 30-60hz to 60-90hz, or does it change like 0hz-30hz, to 0-60hz, which means i could actually use it the way i intended it to by making the bt30d sub high freq going to the speaker under the table and the rca going to the bt20a which i would put a low pass on, or is there something else i could do, like for example instead of the bt20a use an actual subwoofer amp thats 300w rms, but i dont know which one, which is probably what im going to do, but i again need to know if changing the freq to higher will remove the low freqs or just allow higher freq, i could use a splitter but then chaning volume on the bt30d wont affect the sub amp, so help what do i do? Is there something you can buy like a volume/gain knob which splits the cable going into the inouts of the amps? So that way i could control both amps? If yes i might be saved.
