I think we all agree, the Kidd EP is the cream of the crop - and what a bumper crop. Other standouts for me are the Small Faces 45s, Marvin Gaye and Jonathan Richman. Been finding a lot lately too; just comes in unpredictable waves and sleeve acquisitions have been taking up my time too. Looking forward to the next bunch. Cheers, Paul
Hi Chris, lovely to hear from you. Believe me, it is not easy to find EPs of Johnny Kidd. 45s are much easier. Hope all is good with you. Very cold here in the UK.
Tell Her No is a great tune but like many songs by the Zombies, often overlooked. Blimey, 49p! I think I did okay getting it for 99p. It is much harder to find the old Trojan comps now. They must've sold so many but they are normally in poor condition. Thanks for watching.
Edward Woodward made a great Equalizer: you would make a great Tantalizer! All those amazing records and then shows loads of singles... but, not yet. Hold your horses Al, not yet.... They're for another video before Christmas.... It's like being a little kid waiting for Santa to arrive. Have a heart, Steve! Have a heart!
Ha ha, walking around in a long coat, going by the name of the Tantalizer is asking for trouble. Will show the other singles soonish - nothing as good as that Johnny Kidd EP unfortunately. Hope all is good with you. Going to be a cold week - especially for you up there.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I can never make my mind up which song I like most from the Modern Lovers LP. I love Old World - such a great song. I was thrilled to find the Johnny Kidd EP - i've been looking for years. All the best, Steve.
Wow!..some great stuff there Steve..( and plenty more to come). I only have a repress of More of The Abstract Truth, lovely to find that OG. Those Small Faces 7"s are a great find, pity so many were trashed. Glad you found the Modern Lovers, great feeling to find records you've been hunting for so long. I used to have the Motorhead and Girlschool version of Please Don't Touch, fabulous song, such great energy. Original KPM and library albums are pretty scarce these days, so you did really well there. Hope all is well with the family, looking forward to your next video.Take care.Rob.😉
Hi Rob, hope all is well with you. I was shocked to find that Oliver Nelson - always worth flicking through any box as you just don't know. The KPM was in a box of 12" - it does look a bit like a dance 12". Keith Mansfield tunes are particularly good. A lot of those 45s looked great in the dim backroom but in daylight....urghh. Many had an edge warp which would prevent hearing the start of the song. The seller is now selling at £1.25 for 3 singles! All the best to you.
Johnny Kidd - nice. I swear Roy Orbison records are way more popular in the UK than here in the US - I have never seen them. Judee Sill - amazing find!
Hi Kris, Roy Orbison is still loved a great deal here. He toured extensively during the 60s and always returned, even when his career declined in the 70s and early 80s. I guess he channelled into that British melancholy. I see his records a lot. Judee Sill, less so - was really pleased to find that. I think it is crazy that there is no footage of Johnny Kidd about. Very cold here in Wales - we had snow today. A bit of a shock after the past few winters. Could hit minus 15c in Scotland tonight.
To the digger go the rewards. Sometimes it definitely pays off to go through loads of 7” records. Unfortunately we don’t have charity shops here getting dumps of records. We have goodwills that resemble Sam at the Vinyl Douche’s tour of those shops in Phoenix. 400,000 copies of Englebert Humperdink.
It is the same here but I think one person put a load of records in from one collection. Cue a record drought for the next ten years now. I think the days of finding records regularly are gone. My last good charity shop haul was 2019! This one will keep me looking. Hope you are doing okay. Cheers, Steve.
Hi John, hope all is good with you. There was no way I was leaving the Modern Lovers LP. It had to come home. I had to pay up for it but about half of the going rate on Discogs. Not one crackle on it. Will do a Joe Meek video one day. Sadly, I don't have any OGs of his freakbeat stuff - rare and megabucks. Will show what I've got over Christmas. All the best to you as always. Steve.
Lovely stuff Steve, how you doing? It takes alot of sifting through dirge to come up trumps doesn't it? Nice tidy room you have there from what I can see. I'm just reorganizing after a move and realizing how much a decade in one house I've collected way too much so am going to try to do a (shhhhhh) purge........
Hi Martin, doing fine here. I share one half of the attic and my son the other. Constant battle to keep it tidy. I might do one more dig through those 7s but the back and knees are not what they once were. All the best, Steve.

You Had Me With The Johnny Kidd!! Good Finds My Friend!! Very Interesting To See The 45's You Find!!! As Compared To Here!!
It is a great EP - Please Don't Touch is a scorching tune. My dad would play me Shakin All Over when I was young. Classic.
Steve, I don't even have CD reissues of Johnny Kidd and you are finding original EPs! Thanks, Chris

Some great finds! Terrible confession I'd never heard the Zombies record until I listened just now. I bought the Tighten Up vol 2 in 1979 for 49p!

One gem after another! Great to have a lucky streak. Modern Lovers first LP is the greatest. Hope you do a Joe Meek video. All the best, John.

You’re right about the cost of Joe Meek Freakbeat singles. I live in hope of finding some at a reasonable price one day...
