That was fabulous. I only intended to look in for a few minutes on a busy morning and ended up watching the whole lot. Wildfowl and waders aren't my forte so it was really useful as well as enjoyable. Cheers! :)
Thank you for this. I've not long moved to Cleethorpes and have finally got around to going out with binoculars and walking the beach and shore of The River Humber. This is going to help esp. as I've become rusty with bird id. Cheers!
Absolutely fabulous video, packed with really useful ID information, and key things to look for. A useful video to revisit as a refresher before visiting places where waders 'hang out'. Thank you very much.
Thereve been hundreds of curlew again at rspb Conwy in the last few weeks (October 24). But this is a fraction of what we’d get in my childhood here. I think we still have a lot of goo habitat here so I put the continued sharp decline due to climate change
Pretty much any of the waders mentioned in the video might well turn up, and you'd be unlucky not to see at least Avocets and Golden Plover this time of year. Make sure to walk right down to the beach, where godwits and Sanderling are often to be found.
Oystercatcher voice is so evocative of all my favourite places, and they’re so full of life and character
