We are just back from Fridays show. I got most of the bits I needed and in fact more from behind the Myford stand!! Reading Via Leek to pick up a 1500 class chassis. Just had to call in to Cheddington and do a round of photos! Camped overnight. And were first in the Queue. 8.00 was a bit cold. Totally enjoyed and the quality was superb of the models! I went to the 2nd show all those years ago!!! Love David and Lily.
Its time a full length documentary was made covering the hobby. The majority of the general public upon seeing miniature locomotives running think they are factory built. A well built live steam loco will often give little indication that it has a fire burning. I have been asked "Where is the electric motor?" or even "Where do does the key go?".
fantastic live steam locomotives but I have yet to see and live steam 5 inch model of a 1920s Raven /Gresley Class A8 tank locomotive that worked commuter trains of the northeast railway network and were all gone by 1960 came around but where very handsome locomotives and did a lot of hard work in their time
