- Hello guys, at long last I have finally been able to get around to making this video. I will admit, this video was very difficult to make, because champions mode itself only gives you 3 chances to mess up during a match. So I am willing to admit that I did have several retries when making this video. I did cut them out in order to assure that the video doesn't drag on for several hours. But really, if you think Defender Mode and Mac's Last Stand were hard, you've only seen the tip of the iceberg, and this is not even including getting 3 challenge stars on each opponent which is a whole other topic for a different video.
What is Champions Mode?
Champions Mode is done in Exhibition Mode as a part of a series of challenges you have to complete in order to technically complete the game in 100% fashion. The thing that sets this challenge apart from the other star challenges you have to complete is the fact that it changes the game entirely. Its basically a 1 hit knockdown, and after 3 knockdowns, you're dead. Along with this, small details to fights are changed. For instance, normally characters flash red before throwing punches, or flash yellow when there is an opportunity for a star punch. They take all of that out of the fights. You are left to deal with them through precise timing, and most of all, no mistakes. However, there is a catch... In order to unlock this mode, you must first beat 10 opponents in Mac's Last Stand (which I have another video on). So be sure to practice those Defender Mode characters before going onto Mac's Last Stand and making your journey to gain Champions Mode and become the GOAT at Punchout Wii.

What is amazing is at around halfway done with the run. 36:06 Doc is happy for Mac but is trying to tell him to take a break. Pause it at that time and read. It's a cool 4th wall break.

In Champion mode, Glass Joe is a TD Mr Sandman. And Mr Sandman in Champion mode is Chuck Norris
You get a badge if you knock glass Joe down 3 times and let him win by decision at the end of round 3
Another thing you could have mentioned is that (based on what I’ve seen right now), is that there’s no OHKOs. I think that’s a pretty significant change as well. Nevermind (what would happen if you got hit by Aran’a attack right before he’s down?)

That aran ryan attack is the only one that doesn’t instantly knock you down in this mode.

@@Local_Sand_Eater I mostly say that cuz there’s the whole “knocking down Glass Joe 3 times and letting him win by decision” and the TD Sandman one where you have to save yourself from a KO/TKO and still win.
Thus it makes it all the more faster to activate those two, since 1 hit and you’re done for as a knockdown.

Every time I look at this I remember trying to complete the three knock downs and still lose challenge him first knock down: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10! Knock out. Me: DAG NABBIT!
Coming back to this game after wii died then relearning the mechanics is going to be difficult

Champions mode Glass Joe is a little intimidating. I mean, not a lot, but still a little bit. He's trying his best

Quick tip: You can end the Fight with king hippo early by counter punching before he does his squash attack. Then when they get up you repeat it to end the fight quick. Make sure you hit his belly for said counter. Repeat this when he gets up to win quicker.

king hippo is so big that the only thing you CAN hit is his belly lol

since Mac is terribly under-weight compared to even glass joe, it would make sense that these brutes can knock him into the floor with a single hit
in addition to Mac lacking the supernatural red-flashes when an enemy is about to attack, having to predict their movements

The challenges video would take a while, since I haven’t even done all of them myself yet. As for audio, the game audio already exists on UA-cam from various rips.

I love how everyone attempts the dreamland express instant knockdown but I’ve never seen someone get the timing right.
i've heard people say the name of that move in 2 different ways, and i have no clue which was is correct, most people are saying "dreamland" so i'm assuming that's correct, but i've heard afew people say "dream light" so idk anymore lol

I remember getting it a few times, and I was shocked that there were like 2 frames where you can release a star punch that will instantly knockdown no matter if sandman taunts or attacks.
