i use my monthly log as a true log. this is a new thing to this month, but essentially: holidays and birthdays go in (also anything else out of the usual routine that I already fully committed to--vacations, etc), and i pencil in specifics week by week in conjunction with google calendar, then write in pen what actually happened once the week is done.

On the facing page, I divide it into 4 horizontal strips: Monthly Goals, Monthly Wins, Monthly Highlights, Monthly Lessons or Lows. As I work through the month, when something good or bad or significant happens, I write it on that facing page as a reminder. I love looking at this page each time I set up the next month as a reminder of what I actually did accomplish, or the good times I had, or even the things I could do better in the future. Also it forces me to look at my goals throughout the month and at the end so I can do a better job of staying focused on them. Its simple and really works. (I think it may be a hybrid of your designs and Claudia Kai's.)

I think I should do a monthly set up video every time I get a washi tape set from The Washi Tape Shop 👏 it was so much fun to set up a monthly log that was a bit different and didn’t feel like it had a lot of pressure because I wasn’t actually going to use it 😝💜
I use my monthly log to track specific items, not events. For instance, I track my steps, weight, wake up and go to sleep time. It is a smaller size - four lines for each day - and I find it easier to track these items over time if they are included in the actual calendar.
My monthly log is more of a visual representation of the month rather than a planning tool. I do put events & appointments on it. On the left hand page I put my monthly task list so I can flip back to it easily. I sometimes do Dutch door weeklies so I can see my monthly task list without flipping back.
I've actually been enjoying my monthly calendar different than usual but I'm enjoying it. I draw the calendar on 1 page and on the other page I number 1-30 and put my appointments, bills, things I want to remember and I give each a color for example ; a purple triangle is for appointment and a blue square Bills, and so on. So I just need to look at the day or scan the week and quickly know I have an appointment or a bill is due.

I use my monthly log for all events (mine, the kids’s, my husband’s, the family) but also for things i need to remember doing at some point of the month like appointments to schedule, the mail to the library for pur reservations; but also ideas for activities that are date specific. Mostly because i keep all this info in my future log. I visit this only to migrate the info to the monthly log or to make notes in it. So i just migrate it all.
I love this set up!!! I also use a calendar grid monthly log. I just find it makes it easier for my brain to process the information. I include events in the actual calendar, and on the side bar I have my TBR with the books that I plan to read that month. Thanks for the inspiration!
I've only done one monthly so far, but I have habit trackers on that spread (I also track a more detailed water intake by cup on weeklies), a quote that is the title of a song, doodles, etc. I just did a mini calendar because I keep the actual events and stuff in future log, but I didn't even need to do the mini calendar since I listed the same several times on the next page for the habits.

I didn’t want the black lines of the calendar boxes to smudge if I went over it second, but I think it turned out pretty snazzy! Gives me witch’s stockings vibes, haha 😂

I like your layout though I'm not that much into Halloween. I don't have a classic calendar grid but mine runs down as a list, enough space to put any appointments and reminders. On the right side I attached my habit tracker and try to make it a rainbow running down each month.
