IMHO the one time she did "something" was to go to Ghana and then to dance with Nkruma, this despite the MacMillan Govt's opposition. She kept Ghana in the Commonwealth and less inclined to Soviet influence.

I won't ever be able to look at thse characters and not see a tragedy. So many people, completely spoiled and yet denied the most human thing of all: an individual identity. The way the children are forced to accept it until they just stop trying to be their own person, from Elizabeth on to her son, and on. How miserable.
This is so beautiful. Also the quote at the beginning about the burden of the crown reminded me of ITV Victoria « you must smile and wave and never let them know how hard it is to bear ». We love strong queens ❤️
