I love this kind of content from you! I really like learning Slavic recipes (so many of them use the cheapest ingredients where I live so it's really accessible for my bank account 🙏). It would be SUPER awesome if you would share more stuff like this. I'm not Slavic and don't live around anyone who is, so I only find out about this stuff from the internet. Thanks for uploading this!
You can watch Russian Chefs like Vasiliy Yelmenyanko (probably butchered that - Василий Емельяненко), even others might have captions in English. It's important to note that "Slavic" is an Ethnicity that encompasses different regions (like many European Ethnicities), and FOOD is pretty regional... So if you look specifically for channels/creators/recipes from the regions - you might find more of what you are looking for - a bit faster.
I’d love to know more of your heritage, Misha. It is so nice to see you embracing the traditions, but would be good to see how you got where you are. Love the cooking vids.
That looks so good, I'm gonna make that someday Also fun fact, in French "vinaigrette" is the sauce you put in salads (made with olive oil, vinegar, mustard)
Canned vegetables are extremely healthy. They're usually picked and canned at the height of the season to preserve the flavor, and they only lose minimal nutritional value during the canning process.
I bet it was deicious !..in Portugal, "Vinagrete", takes olive oil, salt and..some drops of..vinegar..white vinegar in preference..or some drops of lemon juice..
In Russia we also like adding mayo in it. We pretty much put it in every salad. But not everyone in the west likes it. Edit: To my surprise, it seems like many people don't put the mayo in the vinaigrette, and just a sunflower/olive oil instead, judging by the comments :\
im Congolese-french and my fiancee is Russian ( from Ufa ) and I really got a taste for Russian food and culture and therefore had lots of opportunities to try Vinaigrette. Im completely in love with you promoting your culture! ( fun fact : Vinaigrette means " dressing" in French )
What you got against onions? And I saw a Gordon Ramsey video the other day and I made a rib eye steak. I added a piece of garlic, some parsley and some butter at the end to a slow simmer. Uhhh Chefs Kiss🤌
I've been wondering what your level of Russian knowledge is. I would not have guessed that you read it slowly; this gives me hope that I'm on the same level as you (but I have no Slavic in my bloodline).
I like the energy she puts out in these videos. I can't help but be entertained, even though I'd normally never look at any cooking related stuff lol. Real Misha Bears are here for her whether she's mocking the woke mob or telling us how to make Russian food; it's all good 😄
So adorable and yummy! 😍😍 In my family we also add pickled cabbage (квашенная капуста) made at home! It makes the flavour brilliant! How about cooking some russian pastries (пирожки, ватрушки, хворост, треугольнички) or cakes? (Ленинградский, Прага, Наполеон) P.S. Guys, I'm so impressed how much people adore cuisine and culture of my country. You are so amazing! 🥰🥰
oooh nice... try making syrniki (сырники), but i heard that sour cream in usa is different from one we have in russia so try to buy it from russian stores.
Whenever I want винегрет, I just go to my local Russian market and buy it there lol. I associate it with mainly being beets, onions, and sunflower oil even though there are probably carrots and a few other things in the ones I bought at the market. My major in university is Russian and one day, my professor made us винигрет, пельмени, and оливье. She told us she didn’t put onions in the salads incase we had to “kiss a date.” I love onions and I’ve never had a relationship in my life, so I was disappointed, but it was still good.
Try out cabbage roulettes or in Norwegian called kål ruletter. It taste real good. You reminded me of that dish when i heard you talk about pickled cabbage.
Misha, you have a beautiful voice, absolutely, but in russian it sounds even more gentle 🤗❤️ Винегрет потрясающе красивый 👍 Приятного аппетита 😁 P. S. Also we (I mean our family) add some potato and carrot + black pepper for more intensive flavor. Maybe somebody will try it as well🙌
I Like these Sorts of videos, just a weird note we have the exact same cans of vegetables in Australia id think the brands would be different, But i love the Second Channel, and the first of coarse. 😀

Как насчёт "Селёдки под шубой"? Это не простой для приготовления салат, редко у кого получется, чтобы вышло как нужно, вкусно. Интересно как бы отреагировали американцы на название салата и соласились бы попробовать? 😎
I'm opposite of you, I read/write Russian at a C2 level, but speak/listen at an A1 level. BTW how can you be a good Slav & NOT put in onions and potatoes?
When I moved to the USA, what I missed most was my mother's окрошка, so I had to learn how to make it myself, although I was never able to find the сыворотка 🥲
Love the video love to see you cooking its sooooooooooo freaking sexy and your Russian accent is had me weak at the knees 😅 please do a whole video in Russian and i don't care if its good or bad Russian just as long as you are speaking it @Misha 🐻

Love that you're doing a second channel for things that won't make us want to pull our hair out. Keep being an awesome creator!
here in Brazil we eat a lot of this! also stroganoff (russian dish) is very popular among brazilians i just love to learn more about other cultures

Right? I don’t understand why she says it’s not healthy
@@verone272 I think people sometimes confuse processing foods for extended storage with processed canned foods like Chef Boyardee and the like.
@@yojimbosatoshi I think you’re right! 😂

This is epic ... Your regular content is fab but this recipe is gold ... Thank you very much for everything!!!
Can we get more as I would love that, especially as 19th century Russian literature major from 30 years ago and I adore the culture!!!

Im loving this new channel, you have the best personality! so fun to watch
You asked for content ideas on your other channel, and I'd honestly love to see more Slavic stuff like this, and babushka of course ❤.
I love beets too. One of my favorite vegetables. Fresh is best.
Русская девчонка👍Умничка и красавица
I didn't know vinaigrette was Russian. I'm Brazilian and we eat it here as well, we call it "vinagrete"
My mom is Czech and pickles are always a stable in her home dishes. 🤣
Vieš po česky?
Ahoj ja som Slovák
I am czech and we make our homemade all the time
Apart from my other comments, I'm glad you opened a channel that isn't related to politics Wish you best on your journey 💖

Миша, ты просто прелесть 😍
U r what u eat, good food is the real medicine.
Nice. Maybe you can make a how to video for borsht.
Would love to see you make солянка and/or борщ!!
Petition for Misha to make Jollof Rice
I'd love to see it too. I'm of Ghanaian descent 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭
Reminds me of the German custom of making salad out of anything. I like the new side channel for more pleasant topics. The salad looks good.

In Greece we have something similar but it’s literally just minced beats, a lot of fresh garlic, olive oil and vinegar.
2:32 is pure asmr. putting on repeat
I will definitely make this!
Great work! I think it would cool to also try and make other non Russian dishes
I feel like canned food also just doesn’t taste as good, the difference is absolutely worth it if you can find time

I love a classic big Chef Salad!

Рыбное желе, что-то подобное, скорее всего, есть в азиатской кухне. А так интересна была реакция на подобные блюда.
Okay, Krasavitsa! 👏👏👏😍❤🔥🤩

Don't diss canned veggies there is nothing wrong or unhealthy about them
Semiautomatic dicer 💥
Hey Misha you can alvise get the Life of Boris Cookbook for your slavic cooking needs, it even has the western spy measurements for ingredients.

Are you from Russia?
You’re the only American I’ve ever heard that pronounces a French word properly.
Vinaigrette is actually pronounced as /vi.nɛ.ɡʁɛt/ in French. The r sounds guttural, like ch in loch. However, the way she pronounced it sounded more like /vʲɪnʲɪˈɡrʲet/ which is how the Russians pronounce винегрет. The trilled r before the e sound was quite palatalized.
