Actually the Bugatti Divo's launch messed up and they did 2 other races where the tesla takes off and then the Divo shows the Tesla LEVELS by completely walking it like its some sort of powerwheels kids car.

There was a 10 second 1/4 miler VW in my home town but it was short lived as the driver rolled it on the big end not long after its creation ( driver’s mother told drivers father no more)
I think the beetle was a rotary swapped beetle it sounded like a two rotor and those a very common swaps in beetles
I couldn't tell if it was a rotary or 911 motor. Cool sleeper either way.
Last race came down to reaction time more than anything. Both nice cars though.

This is why you never underestimate any opponent especially if you don't know what they've got under the hood and what else they did to their vehicle. Basically any vehicle can be modded to go extremely fast. It's all about what's been done to the vehicle.
To beat a Tesla Plaid you just have to race them in a 500 mile run.....
Eh they run down a lot faster when hustling, wouldn't need to go nearly the EPA certified range.

What is with all the red tape BS in street races now for the races start?? Checking with one driver to see if ready, checking the other to see if ready, bla bla F'ing bla. FFS just stage the cars then have someone count it down old school 3, 2, 1, then wave a flag or shine a light or blow a airhorn etc and leave the rest up to the drivers skill to determine how good their launch is. Todays street racing starting practices many times is a bunch of over complicated BS, and it leaves the situation open for people to make excuses, back out of bets, start fights, etc etc.

When it's automatic to automatic, the only thing for the driver to do is launch the car as best he can. It's his own fault he didn't do it right, OR the car malfunctioned, which is also his responsibility.

Indeed! That race mostly came down to tires I think - that McLaren couldn't hook up at all, or maybe he had a weak clutch or something - his launch was as terrible as the mustang's was amazing.
