Living in San Diego California all my life drove into Baja may be 1000 times or more never had to get any type of Insurance also those 1000 times or more never had to show a passport it wasn't till 9/11 that they required people to show proof of citizenship .Even after 9/11 I went to Mexico several more times and was never asked to show a passport .I just showed my California Drivers license .I don't know how it is now because I stopped going to Mexico for 2 reasons Number 1 I broke up with my girlfriend who lives in Baja and number 2 the lines at the border were crazy about 4 hours just to cross back into the US sometimes longer .
CA insurance wont cover insurance in Mexico. If you get in a wreck you WILL not leave until you have paid to fix the car. Policia might even throw you in jail. NOT a good idea to drive without Mexican insurance.
@@TanManFixes That may be true but I've been stopped by Police 3 times in Mexico and never had any issues not Having Insurance in Mexico ,and it was not only I but friends neighbors co-workers almost everyone i Know/Knew drove in Mexico without any type of Mexican Insurance .I only got Mexican Insurance once and that was because I rented a car and drove into Mexico .To be honest with you I think CA Insurance does work in Mexico depending on your Insurance Company.
Lies. WOW. Google it. Yes you do. And they surely asked for all those things. Were were extensively searched for guns on the last crossing and I had to show insurance. Sorry but that’s how it is
Insurance, you should get it but don't have too. But beware if you get into an accident it's going to be your loss of vehicle and be ready to come up with some money upfront.
Good luck with that. Not sure what to say. We were extensively searched on our last crossing and yes those were both required and you have to show registration and your currant insurance to get back in as well. Best of luck to you!
Do I need Mexican car insurance to drive in Mexico? 👉Yes, car insurance is required for visitors to Mexico, and your United States auto insurance policy won't be valid there. To be protected, you'll need a separate Mexico car insurance policy that covers you for liability while you're in the country.

The road is too narrow for a beach destination.

You may not need a passport to get into Mexico but good luck getting back into the US without it.
Please stay off our beaches the gringos have just about destroyed them with their RVS and trucks.
The only thing that touched your beaches was our bare feet 💝
