Jan 7 2020 , Survived a Type A Dissection. Emergency surgery, replaced part of my Aorta with a new synthetic tube , new aortic valve then 1 week later found PFO had opened up . Plugged the hole . One month to the day Feb 7th I was ok to go home. 58 years old overall was healthy. No pain when it happened, fell to my knees and felt more like being unplugged.
@@riteshthakur8042 Doing fine.......monitoring the rest of my Aorta which my whole Aorta dissected. Decending area is 5.1 cm and the maximum size that is acceptable is 5.5 cm . Will know in June if and when I have a Stint installed.
Vascular: Post sternotomy and AVR status. There is interval increase in the ascending aorta now measuring up to 50 x 53 in maximum diameter. Maximum diameter of the descending aorta is 30 x 33mm. Post AVR status with interval increase in the size of the ascending aorta. No acute aortic syndrome This is my report
Did u do opretion for this things, my size is 5cm and I have replacement aortic valve, but this doctor never seen this also problem is there ,they just replace valve
so is my math correct that you were 42 when this happened to you? i am 42 and had an aortic dissection this past spring! i’d really be interested in chatting with you about your experience ...!!
@@mikethunder84 I'm doing just fine-- making sure to keep my blood pressure in check and I meet my Dr (the surgeon) every 3 months for follow-up.. of course eventually I'll need to have the surgery again since the aortic aneurysm slowly continues to grow and I was so young when it happened... I (and my Dr) suspect it will need to be dealt with in my late fifties to mid-sixties...
@@stevenweix4330 thank you for replying. My wife had a type A aortic dissection with dissection in her arteries in her extremities arms, legs, torso, and brain. This happened Sept.15th and was airlifted. She is going to inpatient rehabilitation next week. She is only 41 years old. Im desperate to get my wife back. She is doing amazing now compared to how she was when she got sick but am worried about the future. They did mention she would need surgery in the future if her descending aorta continues to rip. I can't imagine her going thru this again. How was your recovery? How long until you got back to as close to normal, unless you haven't? How is your diet?

That is wonderful! My cousin died a couple years ago from an aortic disection. It was such a shock because he appeared to be so healthy.
I had the same thing happen to me in 2015
How long we can live
