The Bose SoundLink Micro has a nice, rich sound at lower volumes but becomes bright and loses the low end as volume rises due to the protection circuit. The Soundcore Mini 2 sounds excellent across the whole volume range and is more balanced IMO. Not as much bass but certainly not slouch especially when placed on a surface which radiates the sound such as a wooden table or cabinet 👍 Hope that helps
Dave West Thanks! I actually have the micros. However, I am thinking of selling the other one and get a revolve to make up for the bass. I wish I have watched your videos before I got the micros. It could have saved me some money. :)
Ha ha thanks John. Technology has moved on so fast in just a year, it's crazy. The Revolve is excellent, make sure you get the larger version though as it's a lot better sounding 👍
I purchased two of these yesterday and am absolutely blown away. Your video really helped me pair the speakers together. I have too many BT speakers including the Bose micro but these are my favorite. I have mine in neoprene beer can koozies and put a carabiner on them which makes them much more portable. Now I must subscribe.
Thank you Mike! These are fantastic when they're paired together and make a great mini sound system for a TV as I later found out! 😁 So glad this video helped you and thank you so much for subscribing - means a lot to me 🙏
Have you experienced any latency when playing through the aux, for example movies or games? Also if you pair them together then play through an aux does the sound play in stereo out of both or do they unpair and audio just plays out of the one? Thanks
Aux is spot on as it's direct from source so there's no latency at all. Unfortunately, the stereo pairing only works via Bluetooth - the speakers have built in circuitry which allows them to pair together when there's a Bluetooth signal, but this doesn't work for aux mode sadly
@@DaveWestMedia Thank you Dave, I had the Sony XB10 but returned them due to audio latency even then using a direct 3.5mm jack, was using it for gaming and it was behaving as if it was connected via Bluetooth.
Sir, please tell me about highs and mids? Are they clear enough and detailed? is bass overpowering other characteristics of sound I, e mids, higs? And does it sound good at low volumes as well?
Mid and highs are crisp and surprisingly full bodied considering the size of the speaker. Bass is consistent across the volume range and never over powers the overall sound 👍 Great for listening at low of high volumes 👌 Any other questions please feel free to ask
Thanks for you're great reviews. I just bought 2 of them and I'm so happy with them. They sound great!!! But do you know how many of them you can pair together? Keep them nice reviews coming.
I think with these you can only pair two of them together - but to be honest I've never tried with more than two. I know the more recent Soundcore speakers allow up to 100 speakers to be connected together which is insane!
Can you pair independent cells phones to it? I have an older version and who I want to pair mine phone against my Anker speaker, I would have to make sure the other phone BT is turned off.
Are there any delays when it comes to watching videos while two speakers are paired in stereo? Like when the actors dialogue don’t sync with the audio?
OUTSTANDING review video of your Anker speakers, Dave! 👍🔥 I really enjoyed all your crispy broll and a roll! Top notch! They look like some excellent speakers to buy.
Hey Scott 👍 Thanks for stopping by mate and for the kind words! Definitely my favorite compact bluetooth by far, great sounds from such a small unit. You should hear it with movies - oh my! 😲😲
Tough call. Both sound great but the Soundcore Mini 2 is better balanced with a more consistent sound at all volumes. The Sony certainly has more bass but I felt it drowned out the mids and treble and made it sound a bit muffled.
Is there more of a delay if you want to use 2 of these too watch a movie my tablet has pretty poor sound so wanted to pair these when watching something but didn't want out of sync issues. The tablet is a Samsung tab a 10.1 2019
The SoundCore has more weight to its sound Vs a single Mini 2, but pair two of these together and they provide a much bigger sound than the SoundCore plus better separation in the sound. You really can't go wrong with either of them 👍
From my experience, yes (same for every speaker I've tried this way bar the Bose SoundLink Mini). The speaker will recognise the incoming audio source and automatically play it (there's no source selection button). Hope that helps!
@@DaveWestMedia Thank you, I asked same question to anker support and they said I have to press Mode button, I was confused with the answer as I don't see mode button on the Soundcore Mini 2 image. Another question, I heard there is auto turn-off issue on soundcore mini 1 where if the speaker doesn't play audio for several minutes, it will automatically turn off itself to save power even if the usb charging cable is plugged in. Can you check if soundcore mini 2 does still has auto turn off issue especially when the usb cable is plugged in?
It will automatically turn off if no audio is being played, yes. This is not an issue, but just a standard feature of all mini speakers designed to protect the internal circuitry 👍
@@DaveWestMedia I see. I understand it's designed like that for saving battery, but the auto turn-off feature should only activate when the charging cable is not plugged (i.e. on battery). Some people would like to have the speaker keep turning on when the charger cable is plugged for certain reason. That's a shame, I guess i have to look for another speaker.
Okay no worries, it's to prevent over heating. None of the BT speakers I've owned have done this. But I get where you're coming from. Anything else you need please let me know 👍
As far as I know you can only pair two in stereo, as the one speaker is the main receiver from your Bluetooth device and the second is the slave from the master unit. As there is therefore no other link in the chain you can link any more (as you can do with JBL and Sony). Shame but hopefully Anker may introduce this feature further down the line 👍
Hey, I like your video and thankyou I just realized that Soundcore Mini 2 is beautiful for room interior. Btw please help me guys, which one is better between Anker Soundcore Mini 2 and JBL Clip 2 ?
Hey George! Nice of you to drop by again 👍 Yes, the soundstaging is really striking and the added speaker adds some dynamics to the sound as well. Glad you enjoyed George, I've got the Soundcore Flare coming for review shortly, looks great!
Hi Samuel, yes you can - there's a 3.5mm aux input concealed behind the waterproof flap which also houses the USB charging port 👍 Hope that helps, any further questions please let me know 👊
This is one of the best compact speakers I've ever tried, do you have one? Let me know what you think - comments section is permanently open! 👍

2:11 It has google assistance built in?
No, it's just pass through from the phone 👍
Hi. Should I get this Mini 2 ($26) or the Mini 1 ($18). I'll only use it in my small kitchen and bathroom.
I'd say the Mini 2 is a sound investment. Well worth the extra $$ in my opinion, even for your usage case 👍
Is the sound really stereo? Or it's just 2 mono speakers. Have you made the test left speaker, right speaker?
Yes, it's true stereo audio. Sounds fantastic when heard in person but always difficult to replicate on camera even with the best microphone.
what do you think of the mini 3 compared to mini 2?
Yesss... Agree, i have twin package, sounds amazing
Certainly does!! Fantastic sound from such tiny little units! 👍

That's very strange, never heard of that before! Especially surprising given they were Sony speakers as well

The smallest of delays, but nothing major IMO 👍

Hi may I know what’s the difference between this and the Anker Soundcore (other than its size)?
Do you mean the SoundCore stereo speaker?
Dave West yes
The SoundCore has more weight to its sound Vs a single Mini 2, but pair two of these together and they provide a much bigger sound than the SoundCore plus better separation in the sound.

Hi Carlos, these only pair with an identical speaker of the same type unfortunately 👍
bass is stronger in soundcore mini 2?
I find it is, yes 👍

VARAN500 Hi from Wales 👍
Hey, I like your video and thankyou I just realized that Soundcore Mini 2 is beautiful for room interior. Btw please help me guys, which one is better between Anker Soundcore Mini 2 and JBL Clip 2 ?
Soundcore Mini 2 blows the Clip 2 away easily 👍
Was looking forward for this review, well done Dave 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Reminds me of when I have my creative metallix stereo paired. They have a nice sound stage.

Yes, the soundstaging is really striking and the added speaker adds some dynamics to the sound as well. Glad you enjoyed George, I've got the Soundcore Flare coming for review shortly, looks great!
how is this compared the sony xrs xb10?
I've not tried the Sony sorry, although I may get some to review and see what they're like
This or Oontz Angle 3 🤔 I'm still undecided 🤣 Thanks a lot for this review. 🤗
Go for these. Better overall sound and you get a fantastic warranty and customer support if anything goes wrong 👍
can you play music on the Anker soundcore Bluetooth speaker using a 3.5mm cable?

Isn't Anker soundcore 2 better and louder also its under 50
On its own vs one of these yes, but paired together the Soundcore Mini 2's are incredible and sound better than the already brilliant Soundcore 2 👍
