    this is actually pretty cool. I like how you didn't use dots as they are confusing
    using different shapes and colours can help to more easily pinpoint the point of contact

    Suppose I want to do an 80-degree cut shot. The object ball would be almost perpendicular to the cue ball. In simple ball-park terms, this means that I would aim from the cue-ball center to object-ball edge that is nearly half of a ball width from the object-ball edge. The cue ball would barely hit the object ball while hitting the ghost-ball contact point. The edge of the cue ball would hit the edge of the object ball.
    Now, try lining up this 80-degree shot using CutShots: (1) find the location that would sink the object ball (the object-ball Spot 1). (2) Locate the spot on the cue ball that is the mirror image of that spot on the object ball (Spot 2). This would be near the center of the cue ball on the other side of the ball on Spot 1. Spot 2 would be close to the center on this steep-angled shot. The aiming line would go from nearly the center of the cue-ball through to the object-ball Spot 1. (3) The last step of CutShots is to shift parallel this aiming line from the cue-ball Spot 2 to the cue-ball’s center.
    Here is the problem. The aiming line already starts near the cue-ball center. Moving it parallel to the cue-ball center moves it hardly at all. By moving it that little bit, the aiming line shifts from the edge of the cue-ball Spot 1 to a little off the edge of that object ball. I know, however, that the aiming line should be nearly a half-ball width of the object ball --- not some small amount. This aiming line is too close to the object ball. It should be nearly half a ball's width --- nearly 1.25" from it. Its not, however.
    Am I missing something here?

    I see this was put out 4 years ago so not sure i will get a response but isn't this the same as aiming the edge of your cue tip in at contact point. I could see how all the designs on the ball could help you not lose you contact point once you move behind the cue ball. Thinks for trying to help people with these aids. Like all training aids, it helps some people, and other don't need them. My only draw back is the cost!!!

    I read all the comments. I will buy a two or four-ball set. It is another method that helps one learn and is less complicated than the ghost-ball method. It is a lot less complicated than some of the other methods (thinking of CTE). A common theme in pool advice is the real, true way is . . . Practice. I get it and you are right that beaucoup practice is required. There are methods, however, that can decrease the amount of practice --- this is one of them. It is also true that as one's skill advances, things learned earlier must be modified or abandoned---- I am thinking that one has to eventually learn English. But, so what? This can be an important tool initially to improve your game efficiently. I like that! What's not to like?

    This is intriguing. My biggest concern is whether or not this method will be usable via "muscle memory" WITHOUT moving the queue stick after sighting. I don't mind moving the queue stick at first to build the muscle memory and get used to this sighting method, but there is no way I would want to move the queue stick long-term after getting better and in real games. Not a single advanced player or professional I have ever watched moves their bridge or stick after sighting from a standing position, approaching, and establishing their bridge and aim. That part of your system seems problematic to me long-term.

    The theory is absolutely correct, geometrically only. In short, there are 4 steps:
    1. Find "Spot 1" (quite intuitive and very little error will be induced)
    2. Find "Spot 2" (some error will be induced since you can't easily estimate "same" distance from the edge of both balls)
    3. Shift PARALLEL from Spot 2 to the center of the cue ball (huge amount of error will be induced...not sure how you ask a beginner to shift both hands and keep the cueing parallel)
    4. Strike perfectly straight on the aimed line (again, not an easy task for longer distance shots)
    Each step is progressively harder and compared to simply ghost ball or other aiming systems, it is honestly not much simpler.

    • @cutshotsaimingtrainer1074
      @cutshotsaimingtrainer1074  4 роки тому

      Shucheng Chao, the Ghost Ball method introduces more variability as you need to imagine a ghost ball behind the object ball and then aim toward that ghost ball (you can’t even see it). There is very little error that can be introduced in step 2 and 3 that you describe. Step 2 may take some practice to get right; however, it is easier to visualize then a ghost ball. Step 3, the parallel shift is so small that any errors will be more limited than the ghost ball method. If you try the CutShots method, you may find that it is simple, more accurate, and allows for better visualization of cut shots.

    Thank you to those that have commented on our video. As you may see there are many misconceptions about CutShots since it is a very easy and accurate way to make pool cut shots. Those misconceptions have been addressed here. In fact, it may even be a pool aiming secret that will make you a better player. Our pool aiming system can be transferred over to regular cue balls when you are comfortable with the method. When using regular cue balls, you will use the same pool aiming techniques that are part of the CutShots method. CutShots can also be used with advanced pool play techniques like English, draw, and position play. We are happy to answer your questions.

    • @cutshotsaimingtrainer1074
      @cutshotsaimingtrainer1074  4 роки тому +2

      lapincheriatota, thank you for the comment. The ghost ball method requires that you place an imaginary ball behind the object ball. The CutShots method does not have that requirement. The ghost ball method requires you to (1) find the spot that would sink the object ball in the pocket. (2) “place” the ghost ball behind the object ball. (2) Move the cue back to the ghost ball and pivot the cue toward the cue ball. (3) Move the cue back to the cue ball without losing the correct angle. (4) Take the shot toward the ghost ball. The CutShots method starts with (1) finding the location that would sink the object ball. (2) Locating the spot on the cue ball that is the mirror image of that spot on the object ball. (3) Shift the cue from that spot to the center. (4) Take the shot. Based on that, the Cut Shots method has the same amount of steps; however, is more accurate and easier to spot.

      Matt thank you for the comment. The best way to get better at cut shots is to get out there and play/practice. You can use the 8-ball set of CutShots to play a full game. The other sets are good to practice a variety of CutShots. By using CutShots and the CutShots method, you will be able to develop muscle and visual memory to consistently make cut shots. Practicing with a set of CutShots balls will help you easily see the spots that need to be hit on the object and cue ball. Our aim trainer does not focus on helping to improve your stroke. It helps to improve your aim skills. Other methods like the fractional ball and ghost ball methods require more guess work and can be more complicated than the CutShots method. CutShots is based on a principal called equal and opposite. Also, the CutShots method does not even require the CutShots balls to be put to use in a game.

    I don’t want to knock your efforts as you clearly felt confident behind it, either that it can work or can sell. I do believe that you would be far better off with stripes on the intended CB to help illustrate what portion of the CB needs to touch the OB. You product will help some see cut angles better and stop aiming with the center of the CB and that’s about it, this seems to be a tool to bring the banger to and novice because anyone serious will know to avoid this tool.

    LOL, even their own video has to put a computer-superimposed spot on the object balls because none of their pre-printed spots work.
    This is stupid from conception.
    It would be easier, cheaper, and far more accurate to simply aim a $5 laser pointer at the object ball.

    • @cutshotsaimingtrainer1074
      @cutshotsaimingtrainer1074  4 роки тому

      Rob, the computer-superimposed spot is to show how to use the spots (shapes). It would be very difficult to use a $5 laser pointer as you would need two of them placed on a tripod or have two people holding them as steady as possible to see the spots on the object and cue balls. In fact, you may have to get a more expensive laser as a low cost laser may not have a mounting point to place on a tripod. Every time you wanted to practice another shot, you would have to adjust the laser, which would take a lot of time and aiming skills to do. With CutShots, you will be able to avoid all of that hassle.

The reason it is not aligned up with a shape in the video is that the location that needs to be hit is between shapes. All you have to do is to remember the shapes that are around that space. In this case, there is a green circle above the spot and a black square above it. Now you can visually remember where that location is. For the parallel shift, you just move to the center of the cue ball. Nothing more. The pool player featured in the video and was able to learn the method quickly. Our method is simple. This product is good in theory. But theory is where it ends. In practical situations players have to compete with the phenomenon called "Cut Induced Throw". Not once did this get mentioned in this video. The implications of "Cut Induced Throw" is an issue that can only be overcome by practising, there are no short cuts, and the reason why there are no short cuts is because there is an infinite amount of variables that can affect the amount of "Cut Induced Throw" that can be generated. The speed of the table, the condition of the cloth, the power of the shot, the angle of the shot are just a few to mention. If, making a shot, was as simple as just lining the object ball to the pocket, then the game would become far too easy to master. The real skill in making a shot is to find the line, consider the conditions and circumstances of the shot and then compensate for any throw that may be generated. The majority of seasoned players compute this compensation subconsciously, but it only becomes part of the subconscious with many hours of practise.
