You have to share a bathroom with other passengers on Titanic. That's a deal breaker for me.

Titanic was also built for 1912… that’s literally ancient times

Great video! I have a relative who was on the Titanic as a vegetable cook and surprisingly he survived (on lifeboat #2) our family has his story well documented from when he was still with us.

Why are we comparing an ocean liner with a cruise ship? They are totally different.

I think the Disney and Oasis class ships are nicer than most cruise ships, but personally for me Titanic is the most beautiful ship ever. We can appreciate Titanic’s size even more when you realize she was 100% handcrafted.

The Titanic WAS the biggest ship when it was launched. But 'the largest' was measured in its gross tons displacement, not it size. The Olympic and Titanic are actually identical in size, with the Britannic also virtually the same size, only a few inches longer.

People like to compare them, but they don't compare. Titanic was and ocean liner. It had a very similar purpose to modern airliners. It gets you from point A to point B. Titanic just did it with comfort in mind because it took a few days to cross the ocean. It was by no means a vacation. Cruise ships are mobile vacation resorts. Cruise ships take you back to your starting point at the end of the voyage. Climate Change may even bring back ocean liners. It sounds like ships would use less fuel per person, and you can carry more people than planes with vastly more comfort. I mean, if you're not in a hurry to cross the ocean, maybe have a mini vacation a long the way. It sounds more interesting than being cramped for 12 hours. As for Titanic 2, they can't remake Titanic. From my understanding, it would be against maritime rules to have 3rd class, not that anyone would want it. The good thing is that they can put in more staterooms since they won't need the boilers. Passengers weren't allowed in the boiler and engine rooms anyway.

That helmet thing may look ugly from the outside, but I bet the sun setting on the ocean looks nice from in there. Cruise ships are like 24 hour cities on the water. It's an amazing experience. You don't have to do everything either.

I feel like a better comparison would have been Titanic vs Queen Mary 2, which is technically more along the lines of what would be the successor the Titanic.

Titanic has just got swag! That vessel just looks the part.

  • @Firesword4

From what I read, cruise ships are basically a tour bus. They’re not meant to set sail across the pacific ocean like titanic which leads to these cruise ships being way bigger

  • @BobbyT.

Still wish they could find a way to make a luxury cruise ship that actually looks good like an old school ship

Cruise ships are so enormous so they have more space to place all the attractions they keep coming up with. They’re basically theme parks on the water.

😮 I appreciate this video comparison. Did not realize Titanic was so small compared to the ships today.

I love the design of MOST modern ships but nothing can compare to Oceanliners My favorite ship is the RMS Britannic.

  • @HansKlopek

Classic aesthetics always look better than modern architecture.

  • @TheLaundryGuy32

Dude I worked at a water park

  • @SkepticalChris

The key differences between Modern Cruise Ships like the Icon of the Seas, to Titanic are two reasons: technology, and purpose.

  • @dannydeez2810

Titanic's exterior is so much more beautiful than the helmet of the sea,s oh wait i mean icon of the seas. Anyone agree with me?

An Iceberg patrol watches for icebergs in the shipping lanes and warns ships. This is why sinking ships are very rare today
