    This is _gorgeous._ I think my wife and I are going to be coming out to see you in the next year or two, rather than looking for someone local. Particularly after watching so many of your videos. The detail, the craftsmanship, the skill and the immensely talented personnel. . .You are virtually unparalleled.
    It's also wonderful to be able to point at something like *this build* and say, _"We want this almost exactly, except in a ___________ chasis."_

    What no one is commenting on that manual bed leveling system?! OMG, that is some next level stuff. Also thanks for the photos of the ARB compressed air system. A lot of engineering to get air to the tires, impressive. I would have wanted the bed to be a little higher so I could have more storage for toys and stuff. Going to the desert with no AC? I guess you can install in the future. Not a fan of the dark wood interior, reminds me a little of a production RV interior but taste is subjective. Overall incredible workmanship and attention to detail. I hope to afford one when I win the lottery.

    This is one of my favorite ARV builds for sure. I wouldn't necessarily make the same design choices as this owner, but using the 4x4 2500 chassis as a base definitely appeals to me. I like to get out into the wild away from civilization and the extra weight of the 3500 would surely be a hindrance in that regard. I also like getting good fuel economy and less weight is always good for that. Well done!

    Have seen the other video's about build pocess and the build quality and finish looks really great. But if you find it hard to build a 140 with a GVWR of 9000lbs, try building a 170 under 7000lbs... Over here in Europe the weight limit is 3.5t (normal drivers licence, no speed restrictions). So some builders do quite a lot of R&D for exotic materials and try to find innovative solutions to keep weight down. Perhaps an idea for a future video: favorite/innovative solutions you have done for fullfilling client wishes?

    Can i ask? Are you finding less people bothering with solar in favour of bigger battery banks and alternator charging?

    • @AdvancedRV
      @AdvancedRV  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you for your kind words. Each client brings unique objectives so that's a tough question. But yes, many clients are choosing to forego solar. Even with sparse driving, 800+ AH of Lithium and an auxiliary alternator provides sufficient off-grid energy. Foregoing solar also gives our clients flexibility with their rooftop equipment.

I'm currently saving for a van right now.

    My preference would be, have grey tank only (dealing with black water is gross), and instead of Natures Head style separator type toilet, go with a nice 5 gallon Yeti bucket with a garbage bag liner and toilet seat and lid, and use kitty litter. Line a few inches of litter at bottom, then a small scoop between uses to cover waste. Use clumping style litter, pretty cheap. Have a spray bottle with water, lemon, vinegar mixture to spray liner as needed after each use. Then after a week or two when bucket near full, tie up bag and discard with regular garbage.

    I don’t know if I missed it but how many gallons of fresh water does this van carry? Additionally, Mike, you don’t seem particularly excited about this build but it is the build of the future! The only thing I would ask for are dual wheels on the back for better weight capacity.

    • @michaelscarfi3196
      @michaelscarfi3196 4 роки тому +1

      I agree with you.Hes a dualie and black tank guy. I don’t think this build is his cup of tea but for me it works . I’m not carrying around bricks so I don’t want to drag around all those tires and if I jump in the van for a weekend I don’t want to be winterizing and dumping a black tank for a quick trip.

    • @dlg5485
      @dlg5485 4 роки тому +1

      He explained at the top that this owner's objective was to minimize weight for better offroad stability, so the 3500 (which is required for dual rear wheels) was not an option. Personally, I much prefer a lighter rig like this to a 5 ton behemoth that's very top heavy and certainly can't go too far offroad. It all depends on what type of travel you plan to do and that's a very individualized thing.
      As for Mike's lack of excitement, this just isn't the type of coach ARV is use to building. I suspect it probably involved a lot of challenges and produced a smaller than usual profit, given that there are very few expensive options on this van.

      Interesting idea to get more galley space. That's definitely something we could explore.

      @@AdvancedRV thanks fo the feedback. I may have posted a link to the following video ua-cam.com/video/gQVAL39ymKI/v-deo.html this shows a heavily modified Sprinter, where the passenger door has been converted to a bus coach type door and the sliding door seems to have been condemned. the company is Auto-Cuby, based in Poland.

    I always look at the price first in the comments before watching the video. Anyone can throw money and make a grand design. If it's over $100K for a small rig, then you have to think thrice about the value of it and how much you will use it to get your money's worth.

      Good, functional design is much more than money. Many expensive follies out in the world.

      He mentioned a lagun table mount but they didn't show it. I would hope it would be close to the passenger chair with swivel, maybe the end of the kitchen cabinet.
