Put Rory on the hardest possible settings (including no grids anywhere) and see how you fair. The fact that you can adjust the settings from birdie fest (all the arcade features) to extremely challenging is a nice feature of the game. TGC is less flexible, but i still enjoy both. 🙂
For sure - which is much better. This was more of an "out of the box" comparison. You can also turn all everything in TGC as well. I just assume like 98% of people never touch a setting.

Pretty sure you can take power boost and spin off in settings in Rory. It starts out a simulation but with changing the setting you can almost make it a full simulation like golf club. Although I agree the putting is way easier

The Golf Club 2019 takes a month or more to get the feel for. I've been open about not liking it at first, but it's very solid if you put the time in. Love it. Nice comparison vid :)

There is a huge pc community for tgc 2019. Most people use the xbox controller. You can join tgc tours which is a great community for competition. Best golf game I've ever played. Go to tgctours.com for more info.
If you like easy arcade golf get Rory...If you like real golf physics get TGC 2019. No comparison. I play true sim with all aids off and master clubs and avg 5 under. It takes time to get good this way but much more satisfying when you play. Golf isn't suppose to be an easy game.
@@cameronpulfrey3692 Mutiplayer in TGC2019 is way better. You can play skins, match, four ball, stroke; slternate shot and even play anyone's ghost that played the hundreds of thousands of courses that are in the game.
I got so good at playing St. Andrews on Rory that I could beat my dad without seeing the TV. No lie. We played a full 18. He was Rory and I was my custom guy. He shot a 2+ and I shot a -3. It takes a lot of course knowledge. I got 2 handicaps. I could pick the pins, and I could look at the green but wasn't allowed to adjust my shot until I turned away from the TV. Easiest $20 ever.
Just got the game. Been playing T Woods since I think 1998. I wonder if you can add loft to make chips land softer. Guess I will find out. Not started yet.
Try changing the swing mechanic in rory, I doubt that you score -20 with the Tour Mechanic without the green grids. The Arcade setting is no challenge!
In my opinion TGC is the best golf game I've ever played. I've been playing golf games since TW2003. It's hard and makes you pay attention to every shot. Golf is not a easy game so neither should this game be easy.
It takes a bit of practice but I've found putting heaps of loft on chips shots helps alot so it doesn't roll a bloody mile. I've gotten so I can leave it within a few feet with most chips using master clubs.

Yes VGK. In Rory, there is a style of play called Tour. In Tour mode, you cannot zoom in on your shots; you have to use your scorecard. You also cannot use power shots nor spin in mid air. And you also do not have line for putts.
I was gunna buy Rory McILroy a couple of months ago when I got TGC2 2019 but I couldn't find a copy under $100 USD and some of em were going for $200 USD or more so I didn't bother and after playing TGC2 2019 Rory McILroy sounds like it would be too easy anyway. TGC2 2019 is more like a golf simulator and playing real golf as in it's bloody hard and frustrating sometimes like real golf lol, but I like it like that. :-)

And it's not available on PS store either. I'm in Aus to btw so maybe it's a bit rarer down here than in the states but I got the impression it's a bit of a collectors item on PS4 these days no matter where you are.
I just happen to find a RM Golf for XBox 1 and paid $7.50, put it online for $30 sold it for $15 which I likely shouldn't have. That guy got a bargain. Then just last week I found a RM Golf for PS4 and paid $8 for it but this 1 I'm keeping lol. Even selling the XBox 1 for $15 paid for the PS4 1 and I'm still ahead a bit.
I bought a used PS3 for Tiger Woods 14. The graphics are much better in TW14 than the Golf Club Seeies in my opinion and far more realistic looking courses.

I enjoy TCG 2019 but the biggest thing for me that Rory PGA Tour has over it is the feel shots. I should be allowed to play a true knock down shot or a pitch into the green from 40 yards away and not have to rely on perfectly judged flop shot. My problem with putting TCG is how the physics of the green work. Speed almost refuses to straighten up a putt. I cannot for the life of me putt a ball through the break. On an uphill right to left put where the ball may move a cup worth if you hit it to die in the cup, the ball will still break that cup worth before the hole unless you ram it 10 feet past. The physics won't let me make the putt if I am right edge and aim to hit a foot past. EA really nailed the feel and short game were HB/2K you can tell did not have any pro golfers giving any insight. In real life I'm a 9 hdcp and I have way more shot workability than the golfer in TGC does and that character is supposed to be a pro.

I enjoy TDC 2019 but my biggest complaint is that with the Master Clubs you are penalized for using them by losing accuracy. The accuracy is far more important than the extra yardage you get from using the Master Clubs. The Master Clubs should've been an unlock that you get for achievements and give better accuracy along with the distance. The beginner clubs distance isn't that accurate. When I did go occasionally play I would hit the ball 200 yes with my 5 iron. That was using my cheap $149 Dunlop clubs from Big 5.
Not a fair comparison. First off you’re not playing on the hardest difficulty which takes all those perks away. 2nd the animations and graphics are way better on Rory and that was made 6 years ago. I love golf games and building your golfer up is how it should be done. There is only 1 swing in golf club which is cheesy!
if they put in half the effort and polish that they do into their NBA 2k series, it should be great. I would think people are dying for a quality golf game, especially on consoles.
I hated the spin on Rory but tgc 2019 lacked any kind of backspin at all. Like shots like woods would hit hit the back of the green and spin it back. I can see a backspin mechanic but not mid air have to choose backspin preshot with a separate loft meter for spin
So you shot -2 in golf club and par with rory, so rory is harder then? If you are comparasing usually the pros hit 3wood and 6i-8i in on the second hole on sawgrass.
One thing I can't stand in golf and baseball games is ball trail. Why is this even an option?!?! It's so stupid. Besides that the golf club is a good game but hopefully the new game will work on swings. They need a variety of swing types and they need to be more fluid.

The real difference between the two games, is Golf Club '19 is more of a "golf simulator", basing more on feel than "grip and rip"... The PGA Tour games are more of an arcade style... Swing mechanics are more point and shoot "grip and rip"... I never played "Rory McIlroy" as I'm new to PS4... But on Tiger Woods '15, I could rip a drive damn near 400 yards if the conditions were right... But on "Golf Club'19", I would be lucky to hit the same shot 280 yards... As the swing mechanics are more simulation, based more on feel... In the "PGA Tour" games, on standard settings, I could easily score -85 in four rounds... In "Golf Club '19, my best score was, I believe was, -20 in four rounds on the same course... Now, I know y'all say, alter the settings and such, but I'm basing these numbers on "plug and play" gameplay, with the average settings on both games... Again, one is more of an arcade, and the other is a simulator...
Mcilroy Pga graphics and sound are better. Also I hate how on the golf club you can’t improve your players ability and they hit it as far as a good club player
What they should do instead of difficulty by club choice it should be by average swing speed. Have choices from 100 to 120 mph and that is what changes the distance. Let's be honest if you're using " beginner clubs" aka a box set in real life, your going to struggle to keep a 265 carry straight with the bad shaft and nonfogiving club head

The problem with your video is you didn't play like for like, you tried to show how easy Rory is compared to TGC, and you showed the opposite lol. What you should have done is play Rory on the harder settings and show how the 2 games stacked up. You never gave Rory credit for the much better GFX it has.

McIlory is so watered down. It's something we would have loved in 2001. But in 2015 , we expected and needed more. It's disgraceful that they even released that game to the public
Ya just gotta play it enough to get a feel. I just count. Like 3 for 30 5 for 50 that kinda thing. It's takes some practice but you can get pretty good at it. And putting is meant to be bloody hard lol. Watch some PGA. Even those guys miss from like 3 or 4 foot fairly often.

No just a quick game now and then to relax I’ve played the created courses but gets me when you miss a 3 foot out die no reason at all takes the enjoyment from the whole experience
Russell Reilly incorrect. Setting the cursor does determine power to a certain extent to help with distance control. It gives you more room for error with putting distance, still up to the player to determine overall power but is there to help especially on longer lag putts.
Russell Reilly test it out, next time you have a putt on a flat green set the cursor well past the hole then see how straighter and harder your putt is
@@dancutd I often put the cursor longer or shorter so I've got something to aim at if I'm putting up or down hill and I'm pretty damn sure doesn't effect the putt strength at all. I just won the PGA tour on hard with master clubs so I've got a pretty good idea what's going on. I'll test it some more but I'm already sure it doesn't, on master clubs at least. Maybe it does on beginner. Never used them much.
More I watch Rory gameplay sucks but had the equipment and clothes. Tgc gameplay is real minus any backspin at all but everything else is perfect, tgc gameplay with a more in depth Rory licensing would be greatest golf game ever
Neither are that good as games. TW 14 on the PS3 or better TW 08 on the Pc with the HD mods and hundreds of downloadable community created courses. Great RPG progression for single players like me. I don’t play online at all any more. It’s great if you are a golf fanatic but for a casually golfer like me, logging on to play against people who sim the same golf game for 20 hours a week means I can’t just have a casual fun round with a chance of the odd win. I turn up thinking 2 under par for a full 18 is ok and play against people who can go 25 under par and get at least a birdie on every hole.

Good video BTW, I have all these games TGC, TGC2, TGC 19, TW02, 03, 05, 08, 12 (Masters) and 14. The last two on the PS3. I play 08 more than any of them with TGC 19 second. In fact the one I put most time into over the past year is probably "Everybody's Golf" on the PS4
Rory was better for me because of the licensing. But Rory gameplay is whack. The ball spin, power up, etc is dumb. Now if you chose to do so before the shot its cool but I hated that after the ball was in the air you could spin. Hated it on tiger too. Had a friend that would beat me but only because of that crutch
Rory was put out to die by EA that was clear to see, TGC19 is not such a good game on Xbox (thing you played on PS4)THE Xbox game play is shocking on the hardest settings using master clubs, the swing is broke you get random swings outcomes so there is no learning curve in other words you cant get good at the game with master clubs, let us hope HB studio fixes this in TGC2020.

Rory is being played on regular Arcade gameplay style. Rory on Tour gameplay style is a very different experience.

2008 was my favorite. I prefer Maclroy for this reason but not played yet.

you can get a copy of Rory on ebay, brand new sealed for $40-50 USD. I picked up one last week. Also it's on EA Access on Xbox One.

I have, yes. As long as you are using a controller then they are essentially the same game.
There’s a few more things to account for other than the wind... that why ur way off even if ur swing is straight....

I hated the spin on Rory but tgc 2019 lacked any kind of backspin at all. Like shots like woods would hit hit the back of the green and spin it back. I can see a backspin mechanic but not mid air have to choose backspin preshot with a separate loft meter for spin
So you shot -2 in golf club and par with rory, so rory is harder then? If you are comparasing usually the pros hit 3wood and 6i-8i in on the second hole on sawgrass.
One thing I can't stand in golf and baseball games is ball trail. Why is this even an option?!?! It's so stupid. Besides that the golf club is a good game but hopefully the new game will work on swings. They need a variety of swing types and they need to be more fluid.

Thanks Man you just saved me some money. I am really enjoying 2K19 but was a huge EA fan back in the day. Looks like 2K is more my style due to the realistic nature of the game. Now I can use the money I was going to spend on Rory and pre-order 2K21👍

The real difference between the two games, is Golf Club '19 is more of a "golf simulator", basing more on feel than "grip and rip"... The PGA Tour games are more of an arcade style... Swing mechanics are more point and shoot "grip and rip"...
I never played "Rory McIlroy" as I'm new to PS4... But on Tiger Woods '15, I could rip a drive damn near 400 yards if the conditions were right... But on "Golf Club'19", I would be lucky to hit the same shot 280 yards... As the swing mechanics are more simulation, based more on feel...
In the "PGA Tour" games, on standard settings, I could easily score -85 in four rounds... In "Golf Club '19, my best score was, I believe was, -20 in four rounds on the same course...
Now, I know y'all say, alter the settings and such, but I'm basing these numbers on "plug and play" gameplay, with the average settings on both games...
Again, one is more of an arcade, and the other is a simulator...
I assume you know that you can work the ball R>L, and vice versa in Rory Mc.
Mcilroy Pga graphics and sound are better. Also I hate how on the golf club you can’t improve your players ability and they hit it as far as a good club player
What they should do instead of difficulty by club choice it should be by average swing speed. Have choices from 100 to 120 mph and that is what changes the distance. Let's be honest if you're using " beginner clubs" aka a box set in real life, your going to struggle to keep a 265 carry straight with the bad shaft and nonfogiving club head
Why on earth did they stop offering club variations in these games? Half the fun was buying a new set.

The problem with your video is you didn't play like for like, you tried to show how easy Rory is compared to TGC, and you showed the opposite lol. What you should have done is play Rory on the harder settings and show how the 2 games stacked up. You never gave Rory credit for the much better GFX it has.

Gameplay in tgc is way more realistic but graphics are better in Rory
McIlory is so watered down. It's something we would have loved in 2001. But in 2015 , we expected and needed more. It's disgraceful that they even released that game to the public

Putting is the problem on this game no monitor or gage to say or give a hint on how far to pull back putter
Ya just gotta play it enough to get a feel. I just count. Like 3 for 30 5 for 50 that kinda thing. It's takes some practice but you can get pretty good at it. And putting is meant to be bloody hard lol. Watch some PGA. Even those guys miss from like 3 or 4 foot fairly often.

@@ravenwda007 Yeah. I don't have a problem with it. Been sinking some great putts lately and I'm playing it on very hard with 187ft green speeds. It just takes some practice. Putting is meant to be bloody hard.

No just a quick game now and then to relax I’ve played the created courses but gets me when you miss a 3 foot out die no reason at all takes the enjoyment from the whole experience
The cursor also sets the distance for putting in The Golf Club. Not exact but it gives you room for error with swing distance
The cursor doesn't set the distance in TGC2 2019. It's all feel. But it does give you something to aim at on severe up and down hill putts.
Russell Reilly incorrect. Setting the cursor does determine power to a certain extent to help with distance control. It gives you more room for error with putting distance, still up to the player to determine overall power but is there to help especially on longer lag putts.
Russell Reilly test it out, next time you have a putt on a flat green set the cursor well past the hole then see how straighter and harder your putt is
@@dancutd I often put the cursor longer or shorter so I've got something to aim at if I'm putting up or down hill and I'm pretty damn sure doesn't effect the putt strength at all. I just won the PGA tour on hard with master clubs so I've got a pretty good idea what's going on. I'll test it some more but I'm already sure it doesn't, on master clubs at least. Maybe it does on beginner. Never used them much.

Neither are that good as games. TW 14 on the PS3 or better TW 08 on the Pc with the HD mods and hundreds of downloadable community created courses. Great RPG progression for single players like me.
I don’t play online at all any more. It’s great if you are a golf fanatic but for a casually golfer like me, logging on to play against people who sim the same golf game for 20 hours a week means I can’t just have a casual fun round with a chance of the odd win. I turn up thinking 2 under par for a full 18 is ok and play against people who can go 25 under par and get at least a birdie on every hole.
Yeah, I play almost exclusively online. I think that depending on what you enjoy most, both games can be lacking.
@@RickRunGood There is room in the market for a "best of all worlds" game. The 2K21 game that was released look another half step closer to that - but still a long way off. Good video BTW, I have all these games TGC, TGC2, TGC 19, TW02, 03, 05, 08, 12 (Masters) and 14. The last two on the PS3. I play 08 more than any of them with TGC 19 second. In fact the one I put most time into over the past year is probably "Everybody's Golf" on the PS4

Rory was better for me because of the licensing. But Rory gameplay is whack. The ball spin, power up, etc is dumb. Now if you chose to do so before the shot its cool but I hated that after the ball was in the air you could spin. Hated it on tiger too. Had a friend that would beat me but only because of that crutch
Rory game is a complete mess. EA refuse to fix the invisible wall bugs where your ball gets stuck. It’s broken
Rory has a terrible game breaking hole in one mechanic. Once you figure it out the game looses all the fun.

Rory was put out to die by EA that was clear to see, TGC19 is not such a good game on Xbox (thing you played on PS4)THE Xbox game play is shocking on the hardest settings using master clubs, the swing is broke you get random swings outcomes so there is no learning curve in other words you cant get good at the game with master clubs, let us hope HB studio fixes this in TGC2020.
