Having a guy like Jo, that does well without breaking the bike or hurting himself, racing every week in the top 3 has got to be fun for Mitch. I remember seeing videos of Joe racing a CRF150 super mini and just pinning it. I could tell from his amateur days he was going to be something very special. Just the fact that he is a Japanese rider that has risen to the very highest level of the sport…. He is arguably the best rider to ever come from Japan. I think the only comparison would be Akira Watanabe who won a 125 world championship. It’s a big deal and its fantastic for Japanese motocross. I’m my opinion he is as exciting a rider as Jett and I have become a huge fan of both of them. It’s a great time to be a fan of the sport.
I always knew from Monster Cup amateurs that Joe is going to be someone in this sport. It was good to see a Japanese rider competing at the highest level riding the most dominant bikes designed and built by his ancestors. I just hope he doesn't get so westernized that he forgets his roots.
