Love this! I have a shashibo but it's so expensive to have multiples and I want to experiment with shapes I can make with six or more. I had no trouble following this (I am an experienced origamist though). Thank you!!
Wow you explained it so well! All the other ones don't explain it as well and I've been dying to make one of these since it's my favorite one and I cant print out any templates! Also is Astrobrights paper suitable?
sweet paper do you have any instructions that I can print? I want to do this at school tomorrow and I can't have my phone in class because this is the coolest thing I've ever seen
Thank you very much but I'm very sorry that I don't have any instruction other than this video. I have just uploaded the printable transforming cube designs. ua-cam.com/video/hLpqMdiuKAs/v-deo.html but not the instruction😢😢😢😢😢.
A request to please put your name in your video as the designer so we can give you credit when somebody asks. Also the magnets should you check the + and - to the adjacent triangle magnet just like you did in the other video? I loved making this. Thank you.
Pieces of magnetic sheet stick each other with the same side. They will shift slightly when they stick together, so it is more effective to adjust where it is glued, but it does not have to be very accurate. Mr. Yoshimoto might be the designer of this model and I just figured out how to fold it.
Thank you for your reply and videos ❤️ I wanted to buy this toy but it’s not available in my country. I have folded 4 of your origami transforming cube designs. Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏
I've gotten into yoshimoto cubes, I want to make a full set but I can't find a tutorial for the other yoshimoto cube No 3? but will you ever make one? P.S. I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL.
OMG THANKS Very few youtubers would respond to everyone like you do and thanks, because my friends birthday is in May so I'm making them a BIG ORIGAMI GIFT BOX.
Kind of confusing at beginning about size of paper. Hard to understand, it took me forever to figure it out. I kept trying to measure the exact dimensions of your paper after you started folding but the sizes you were working with wouldn’t match to what you had initially cut. Very confusing to me.......... finally understood but used my ow sized paper....1: 1.48 or whatever. LOL
Hello again sweet paper I wanted to ask if you could find a English one of how to make a transforming cube because I couldn't understand what do do and I was unsure. Thanks.😊
Could you tell me the time of the movie at which you want to know the paper size? At 1:20, each size is 7.43 cm x 10.5 cm. Then from 1:22, I used the doubled size (10.5 cm x 14.86 cm) to show a bigger image. But any how, if you use A4 paper, the size of the piece (out of 8) is 7.43 cm x 10.5 cm. (sorry, my English is poor)
Choose a 1.3 mm ~ 1.5 mm ( 0.05" ~ 0.06" ) thick magnet sheet. Also "mil" is used for magnet thickness (1 mil = 1/1000 inches or 0.001"). Units of thickness are different in different counties and they confused me😵, so please find good one by yourself. "Self adhesive" is not necessary since you will glue the other side.
I haven't tried a square sheet for this, so I am not sure. But I think 1:√2 rectangle might be suitable, because many parts of this cube have sizes of 1:√2.
Sweet Paper Hi! Great video. Just have to let you know that the "A" paper series (A4, for example) is proportioned as 1 x rt2 (1x1.414...). This ratio is also called the "silver mean," and the fact that when you cut a silver rectangle in half you end up with 2 smaller silver rectangles is what makes this ratio special. Another way of thinking about it is imagining a square, taking It's diagonal and then using the diagonal as the long side of a rectangle. This is also why this model involves rt2 so much 😊 BTW, I doubt that squares would work for this model, at least with this folding method
Thank you SciBear! "Silver mean" is the key but unless making a huge model, I think 1.4 is precise enough😊. BTW, Japanese also use “B” paper size (B4 : 25.7 x 36.4) since long time ago and it is also silver mean. It’s interesting for me.
Sweet paper, I don't mean to be rude or an andything, so no offense, but can you make a video about how to make accessories to make the hinges stick together more, and stuff like that? It might be a bit help. Ps.I LOVE your work!!! 😉😉😉
Hi Nicole, thank you for your request💕💕. So, I need to show how to connect the blocks with the hinges more clearly, right? Could you give me some time? I will inform you after I make the video.
@@SweetPaper Hi. The comment above was from my 10-yr old son, Nate. He says this now: "I finished making the cube! But the magnets aren't working. My magnets were a 3 out of 10 in strength. How much should they be to stick everything together? We can't find stronger magnets at the store."
Hi Nicole, I think Nate is very talented🤗. I used magnet sheet about 1.5 mm thick. Thicker the magnet, the stronger the power generally. But I hope the paper of the cube will gradually become softer as Nate playing with it and the magnet may start to work.
I think I don't really understand your comment, but here in Japan, Kirigami is a different thing. Here are some Kirigami videos: ua-cam.com/video/96kl1o1XGuk/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/Rf7OsKJdhII/v-deo.html We try not (or minimize) using scissors and other tools in origami but can use them if necessary and still, that's origami 😉.

Thank you for visiting my website. But sorry, I am not selling a magnet sheet on my website. I just bought from Amazon amzn.asia/eKu7qER which is 1.3 mm thick and stronger than printable magnet sheets. I hope you can find good one in your country.
Thanks! The video is ua-cam.com/video/rFEc203-tig/v-deo.html. There is a template link in the video description but it seems not right. The diagram on his video at 0:53 is correct. So, you can arrange the template. (I could not find other videos this time, sorry.)
You can play it without magnets. It can be open up and put magnets later, if you need. Or, if you have no plan to put magnets, I recommend the "no glue" version ua-cam.com/video/qtZcyM0lBUQ/v-deo.html It's easier to make and has a lock to hold the cube shape.

Awesome video! The model took a lot of time to make, but it was worth it.
That's right! Thanks. But from the second one, it will be much easier and quicker.

Wow you explained it so well! All the other ones don't explain it as well and I've been dying to make one of these since it's my favorite one and I cant print out any templates! Also is Astrobrights paper suitable?
Thank you✨. Use paper with thickness / weight similar to ordinary copy paper. Astrobrights paper "cardstock" is might be too thick for this project.
@@SweetPaper Oh because that's the only paper I have. Also when I made the cube formation it made the edges crumple up.
I think If you make a cube twice as large size, then, it might be OK.
Thanks! I will try to use two sheets instead of one so the modules are bigger.
what size does d paper have to b ??
A4(29.7 cm x 21 cm) Then divide it into 8 (7.43 cm x 10.5 cm) pieces. But any size is OK, if the ratio is 1:1.4.
Sweet Paper thx
Sweet Paper it's actually 1:square root of 2
√2=1.41421356..... You're correct!
Sweet Paper paper is so easy in England. That is the ratio and then A5=2x A6
A4=2x A5
A3=2x A4
Etc
For some reason, I can never find a4 paper at the store that is thin.

It's fun to play with the cubes but it's also fun to make them👍.
The side flaps are tucked nicely, but the middle diamond keeps opening up. Did you apply glue to keep the middle part together?
From 6:35 , use glue and will not open.
The hinge is coming off.
What are the dimensions of those paper blocks?

Can you attach the magnets with double sided sticky tape? Or does it have to be glue? And thanks for the tutorial!
I used a glue because the thickness of double sided sticky tape might weaken the magnets. If you have a very thin tape, it may work.
Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I'll try both versions with some paper first before putting anything inside the transforming cube.
Is it possible to make this without glue?
No, it will fall apart when you play😱
7:21 you should’ve showed us how to close it
