This is the bit Gerry Dee does about growing up in an Italian neighborhood and being asked to "gofacoff" everyday. TAKEN FROM GERRY'D DVD "NO READING AHEAD"
It's funny because I have a 70 year old Italian neighbor and he pretty much does EVERYTHING he just talked about....from the vegetable garden to the watering the driveway!!!
I am so happy God made me Italian - I love being Italian/Sicilian and would never want to be amnything else - many fond memories- Italy is one damn beautiful place and I love Italian/Sicilian people ! The best !!! Viva Italia!!! I also love anything Scottish and that would be my second choice !!!!
ohhh my goodness. when he does the italian accent, he sounds EXACTLY like my uncle...all my aunts and uncles and my father are straight off the boat italians XD
MrSteelermania I can vouch for this haha. I’m Sicilian and most guys in my family do this bahah...myself included now. Never thought I’d be them hahah.
this guy isnt a bum, he was in the top 3 of last comic standing, is in multiple tv commercials, is touring canada, and russell peters is a supporter of his, he's hilarious
I think Gerry Dee is brilliant - his accent is pretty good too I think. Very funny video, laugh every time I watch it!! I'm of Italian decent and not offended at all. Thanx 4 posting.
Thank you UA-cam algorithm for bringing this back to me. I genuinely think of this bit several times a year yet I can never remember the comedians name. So damn funny
I am Irish American in NY and this is exactly why Mr Bellisario from Italy was like next door. And what is up with old Italian guys allways hitting on my old Irish ma? She is 70, stop that shit.
Well As a cop who grew up in Yonkers Id rather not discuss organized crime. Ill just say that where I grew up as a kid, you knew who the mob guys were, they pretty much made it clear who they were.
its true your right I guess we as Americans weather we're Irish or Italian or whatever we get it its funny to us. PS good sense of humor watch those old Italian guys they still think they're the s*** lol
Well, they say the Irish mobsters kill a guy just for looking at them funny at the bar, and the Italians only have you killed if you owe too much money. Either way I ant sayin shit.
A lot of people commenting on here that he "does not sound Italian" but there is going to be a different dialect depending on where you are from, Canada, New York, Jersey, Italy, and yes even the land down under Australia, doesnt mean you are not Italian. Capeesh
I have an Italian neighbor and he waters his driveway ALL the time! His grass is always perfectly cut, and he has a garden in his back yard... All true!
I live in an old neighborhood near the Hill in Saint Louis, They are very proud of their homes! :) I have a neighbor who waters her sidewalk every day!! I LOVE MY NEIGHBORHOOD!!!!!!!! We are always looking out for each other! Something hard to find in a city
@MaremmaSheepdog thank you for recognizing this, no one seems to understand these "italians" are americans of italian decent, completely different than authentic Italians.
He's not swearing. The reason you're hearing the swearing is because you've been conditioned to hear it - that's the beauty of innuendo. He's saying "Go for coffe," instead of "Go for coffee." He's not saying what you hear, and I doubt that a child with no predisposition to the obscenity would catch on.
Italians built the Greatest Empire the world has ever seen. The Circus Maximus alone held over 350, 000 people. This was built over 2000 years ago--and nothing has been built like that since then!!!
Dario Ghidoni romans are not Italians - fuck the Roman Empire - the greatest Italian achievement was the Renaissance- it was the best of the classics with real beauty - the next thing was neo realismo - fuck the Roman Empire and the Roman Catholic cult 🤗😂🕵🏻🥃
@Eros Delorenzi I am half Sicilian, the other half is Casertana, so I haven't the ability to understand all of the dialect, but I believe you are saying "He is from Palermo, Sicily".
@Eros Delorenzi Italians always refer to it as dialects rather than languages and I say this because your schools do not educate their students in these so-called languages, but the official Italian language spoken which all children are educated in.
You people that are saying that he doesn't sound Italian have obviously never worked/lived/driven through/been in Woodbridge, ON. Italian Central. "GIVE DOMI THE "C"!
Italians on the mainland. Italic people, Latins: Greek genetics, Celtic Genetics, Germanic Genetics, Norwegian Genetics, French Genetics and Spanish Genetics. Sicily, Sicilian genetics. Pockets of West Sicily. Moorish and Levantine Genetics, French Genetics, Spanish Genetics, Norwegian Genetics. Please note I stated pockets. Italians are not black or Levantine. We are Italics.
I doubt anyone actually changed their minds about Italians in any way over this. Not to mention he isn't talking about all Italians, he's just exaggerating his experiences for the sake of humor. Thats just his comedy.
You "Italians" in the comments say you're Italian? You speak Italian? Born in Italy? Have true Italian parents? You can't say this is true if you're only "50%" Italian......Gli Americani.......
This guy is putting on a eastern european accent, reminds me of my russian and croatian friends..... It does not sound at all like an italian speaking english. On the whole it was pretty stupid, he didn't use any typical stereotypes, he simply said negative things about italians for no reason whatsoever.
Well I'll just put that out there, I thought it was pretty funny, especially as alot of it is true. My Nono's brother in law used to 'Water the driveway' as well haha. I'm Italian and really don't see how this could be offensive to anybody, the guy is just poking fun. But he is wrong about having his neighbors sauce, that stuff is like gold, you would have to kill my Nona to get it from her if your not family lol.
@doomblackdeath My Dad is an Italian Canadian. He was born in Rome. I on the other hand consider myself a Canadian Italian. Also I have heard Italians sound like that btw.
He severely underestimates the power of the Italian slipper being thrown by an Italian. Lol.
For real, my grandma has been throwing it at me all her life, she mastered it
Or the wooden spoon lol
Good solid leather, I'll bet 😂
If you grew up in an Italian family or neighborhood, YOU WERE BLESSED!
My grandfather moved from Cassino in Italy to Toronto when he was a kid. Legit washed the drive way every Saturday.
Definitely canadian italians. Im from Toronto and this is pretty accurate.
Im italian italian lol, born there but been living in Toronto for a very long time.
@@damonbaird1173 llllllllllllllpl1mo
I work for 4 of them in Kamloops BC and yeah this is the Oldman for sure
It's funny because I have a 70 year old Italian neighbor and he pretty much does EVERYTHING he just talked about....from the vegetable garden to the watering the driveway!!!
This never gets old. It’s soooo true and soooo my dad. 😂
Well Put! My parents are also Italian and the stereotypes are true. People should be able to see the humor in everything in everyday life.
I am so happy God made me Italian - I love being Italian/Sicilian and would never want to be amnything else - many fond memories- Italy is one damn beautiful place and I love Italian/Sicilian people ! The best !!! Viva Italia!!! I also love anything Scottish and that would be my second choice !!!!
gerry dee was born in scotland and lives in canada
You should see the Italian Scots, the Nardinis. They sell ice cream in Largs.
john kennedy Actually no he was born in Canada to Scottish immigrant parents.
I stand corrected
john kennedy Thank you my friend I'am glad that there is no hard feelings.
i'm italian and this is just awesome
I showed this to my friend from Napoli and not only did he fall down laughing, he wants to visit Toronto now to meet these Italian neighbours :)
Italians don't get offended by comedy about Italians. As don't the Irish. As don't the English. The rest of the world should borrow a page...
vinniedisco7 WHY I'm Damn glad I'm Italian/Irish
Cause it's never really offensive, only good stuff
Yes
I’m Italian-English😂. I just don’t care
He is funny, and not offended, but Italians that I knew did care about non-Italian neighbors. They wanted to be as American as possible.
LOVE IT!! this is so true with my Italian neighbors in Canada. thats exactly how they talk and act up here!
IM ITALIAN and I love this, your awesome Gerry, your one of my favourites XD
I'm Italian, second generation, and this is funny as hell. I don't see how this is demeaning.
I grew up in Toronto and 3/4's of my neighbourhood were Italian immigrants. He is right on!
ohhh my goodness. when he does the italian accent, he sounds EXACTLY like my uncle...all my aunts and uncles and my father are straight off the boat italians XD
I still to this day quote this, especially "i dont have nothing behinda my back" and my mom and i regularly tell each other to go for coff
I'm Italian, and that's my Dad to a tee.. I laughed like crazy! (So did my Dad)
You water concrete after its been poured so it doesn't dry out too fast.
Lol yes, so it slows doing the curing process. But only a mist works best, do not use an aggressive setting to spray the cement.
My grandpas concrete must have been setting for 35 years..
MrSteelermania I can vouch for this haha. I’m Sicilian and most guys in my family do this bahah...myself included now. Never thought I’d be them hahah.
Yeah but they keep doing it for years Lol
this guy isnt a bum, he was in the top 3 of last comic standing, is in multiple tv commercials, is touring canada, and russell peters is a supporter of his, he's hilarious
Gerry, you're the best Comedian ever! Glad you're a fellow Canadian.
I ❤️ you on The Canadian Family Feud.

Speaking as an Italian, that was all true!! lol
I'm Italian and I find him funny
A lot of people commenting on here that he "does not sound Italian" but there is going to be a different dialect depending on where you are from, Canada, New York, Jersey, Italy, and yes even the land down under Australia, doesnt mean you are not Italian. Capeesh

Love his Russian accent
He's not swearing. The reason you're hearing the swearing is because you've been conditioned to hear it - that's the beauty of innuendo. He's saying "Go for coffe," instead of "Go for coffee." He's not saying what you hear, and I doubt that a child with no predisposition to the obscenity would catch on.
The accent is spot on 😂😂

@Eros Delorenzi I know what that means. 😁
I watched this on Comedy Central last nite. Thought I would have a heart attack from laughing!! OMG..this guy is so good!!
Italians are literally the best neighbors you can have.. if a family moves next to you, you won the neighbor lottery

Italians are not black or Levantine. We are Italics.
