Non-stop pleasure in watching, thanks Alan. Your grouping of shots really worked and I was captivated by each loco's appearance in your superb Victoria Bridge location... something rather special about that. I was particularly pleased to see and hear the Q being well looked after and behaving itself away from home. Wonderful sound from 76017 on departure at 24:30 and your "shot in the dark" with the pyrotechnics at Eardington was something else! Kind regards, Bob. p.s. You mention 'not without incident' but do not expand... please tell!
Thanks Bob, the first three days were perfect, on the fourth it rained! Victoria Bridge is a lovely spot on autumn afternoons. It gets even better a little later in the year when the trees show their autumn tints. I am not conversant with the precise problem but the Q failed on the Friday night. It was under repair when I took the side on shot at Bewdley and left the yard, presumably for duty, late afternoon on Saturday. There was a problem with points at Hampton Loade, caused I believe by the autotrain, which resulted in disruption late Saturday afternoon. The upside of that was that, travelling north behind Taw Valley we were delayed at Arley, 30 minutes and Highley, 25 minutes which resulted in the fastest climb of Eardington Bank that I have ever seen. The photters on the north end of the bank were KowTowing the crew!! Kind regards Alan
@@Parsound Bit late to the party ;P - the Q was failed on Friday night with leaking tubes. It was quickly remedied for use on the last couple of duties on the Saturday but sadly it failed again with the same problem on the Saturday night. It was mainly a precaution but upon arrival back on the Bluebell, the Q returned to service in time for the Giants of Steam Gala
Excellent as always, Alan. The train passing Eardington at night was a joy, especially the shower of sparks drifting down after the loco had passed. Phil
Superb Video Alan , Like someone else said on your comments one of the best i have seen of the SVR Gala ,not only you well captured the trains but also the beautiful countryside as well , Regards Graham
Maybe you might know about it, that coach E3083, you can see it clearly at 21:56, that's different from a regular Mk1 open second isn't it, it has more and smaller windows and different seats, that look rather like a prototype of Mk 2 style, from what I can see of it. Is it some form of prototype?
Well spotted! It is a prototype Open First but was never repeated. It is used on the SVR as an Open Standard Class and very comfortable it is too. See: www.svrwiki.com/BR_3083_Experimental_Open
ive captured the first time ever for taw valley and city of wells passing each other at arley for the first time since both were on the mainline from 1988 and 1991 and as of today city of wells and taw valley are no longer mainline certified
and I've captured both 75069 and 76017 meeting each other at Kidderminster for the first time since the steam days of the 1950s when the standard 4s were introduced
I see, must be a long time for bringing them back together as a West Country Class events. Looks wonderful steam locomotives you know. I’ve seen City of Wells when I was at North Yorkshire Moors Railway, while she replaced by Union of South Africa back in April. Then I saw her again at East Lancashire Railway in July. All the best ... Josh

Thank you Phil. Your lamps certainly give a lovely effect. Alan
Some very pleasant light, mostly. Those after-dark scenes are very nice.
Yes conditions were almost perfect. I was lucky as it rained on the Sunday, the one day that I missed.
