This was actually a bit of a misadventure on my Shorts learning curve... the Short was made a few days ago from a clip from February... it's the new strategy I'm trying out to show our videos to a new wider audience... and I ended up confusing everyone 🤣🤣🤣 There's a reciprocal healthcare agreement between the UK, Australia & NZ, so Lee was covered 🙏🤗

A friend of mine owns a plot of land (he’s growing rows & rows of veggies), where you were walking at 2:03 and I have looked at the little homes (online) in the Baleal co-op, on the other side of the fence at 2:30 - I just knew you were headed to Wok Peniche! Having read your lovely comment and others, I think I'll have to video more of our everyday Portugal life when we're back in Praia del Rey in October-November, especially as it will be our last Tilly the cat house-sit... which will be a bittersweet experience indeed. So nice of you to say that about our Nepal video because it's the one that means the most to me as well. 🙏❤️ I was a bit disappointed it didn't get many views as I put my heart and soul into that one. 😊 Looking back at that buffet video makes me quite envious of the copious amounts of delicious food I was able to eat 😋 as I lie here in a cheap Indian hotel suffering from severe diarrhea and not being able to eat for days 😔. The rollercoaster of life has plenty of ups and downs. ☺️
@@FrugalTravellers Hi Lee-So sorry to hear about your digestive woes. 🫤 India reminds the biggest hole in my travel map. I planned a family trip in 2019. Had all the trains and planes figured out. Just as I was about to purchase tickets, Pakistani army bombed an Indian base. All flights were cancelled and a high alert was in effect for many days. Of course my travel plans went out the window and we went to Laos and Taiwan instead. Someday I’ll make it to India. 🇮🇳

Hi Cindy! Things aren't completely chronological as Lee quite often wants a break from filming.. whereas I'd prefer a more coordinated linear timeline 🤗😂 From what I've seen, an Instant Pot is an American version of a Breville pressure cooker, that's also a slow cooker, makes yogurt and has loads of other features. I used one in Praia del Rey to make black beans and chickpeas etc from dry... soaking them then cooking them with the pressure cooker function. You can actually buy Instant Pots in Oz, but as my sister has a slow cooker and solar panels, we'll probably just stick with that 🤗😍♥️
It's always a good day when I see a post from you two. So many travel bloggers promote business class flights, 5 star hotels etc which are just not realistic nor appealing for the average traveller. How you travel is how I travel yet seeing the smiles on your faces and the respect with which you treat everyone, despite any difficulties you encounter, inspires me to be just the same. P.S, what a fantastic story of how you two met in Nepal! I suppose, rather than just an observation this time, I have a question if I may. Where have you felt the biggest culture shock when travelling?
Thank you for your kind words 🙏 We definitely won't be promoting business class flights and five star hotels. We like to keep it real and after all we've been travelling frugally for decades so it's just who we are. 😊 Mandy's response to the culture shock question is Japan! It really is a bizarre country and she spent a long time there in the early days. I'd say my first time in India. It takes some adjusting to. 😉

We both really liked Coimbra... it's very hilly, remember, but we found some great local restaurants. We house-sat a few times on a quinta near Oliveira do Hospital. We loved off-grid quinta life and the animals there, but I have to say the locals in Oliveira town centre were the least friendly people we encountered during our two years in Portugal. Maybe it's because it's so cold, so rural, so not wealthy, I'm not sure, but the town centre itself did absolutely nothing for us. I'm sure you've guessed we love Caldas da Rainha and the Silver Coast... so that's where I'd head if we were ever to settle down in Portugal. Hello Whirl! It's always lovely to hear from you. Yes, audio is an ongoing issue. I've looked at buying the Media Mod for our new GoPro 12, but there seen to be a lot of issues with accessing the SD card and not being able to download with the Mod attached. I was all excited about the new Bluetooth feature but the sound quality sounds worse through the earphones. We'll just have to try and avoid windy environments. We hope this finds you well and happy 🤗🙌

So glad you enjoy our videos. We love our time pet sitting in Portugal. We'd love to do it in Marbella as well as we love Spain too. ❤️. We're doing a last sit in Portugal in October November and then going down under to family over winter and had tentatively planned central America next year so not sure when and how we could fit it in but most definitely interested. ❤️😻🐶❤️
I wish we had that here in the Philippines-a buffet restaurant that is not jam-packed.
