He knows that others judge him for still longing for that person and think they know his character but failed to realize that his longing is part of his way of being. That’s why he asks how can you ask me why I long for that person? How can you tell me not to? At the end he knows that he will meet Wei Ying again but until than he can only hope Wei is okay and he will continue to long for him. Wei Ying’s song is about loss. I believe that it does but, sometimes, it takes an entire lifetime to find that one person. But then again, alot of people dont and wont ever find their soulmate. They have to anchor this life alone and deal with incredible odds. Such things as this, is so my story. I have alot of Wei Ying in my spirit but, I have some of Lan Zhang in my soul. Im looking for the rest of my Lan Zhan and yet, I havent found him. Its quite the trivial matter!
Yes, it exists, but not everyone finds it. I wasn’t too much of a believer until I started working in rehab in a nursing home. Some (definitely not all) of the elderly couples are still so romantic and loyal. They stay by their spouses side when they can, bring them treats, take care of them even though they are themselves crippled, stand up for them, kiss them, hold their hands, profess their love, reassure them, wait for them etc. It’s sooo sweet. I ask about their histories and how they met and their lives sound like a romantic movie, sometimes a comedy, sometimes a drama, sometimes they’ve left each other to find each other again.
I think to find a soulmate like LWJ, you have to be that LWJ for some one else. I believe that it is possible to find a soulmate nowadays too, but just that it will come with great sacrifice and challenges. Not the kind of sacrifice in this drama, though. Even though WWX and LWJ had glaring contrast in their perosnalities and life, they had the same view in life, or should I say values and beliefs in life. LWJ saw WWX for who he was at heart and accepted him as whole while embracing all his faults, shortcomings and wrong doings. Heck, he was even able to accept another's body and appearance without a moment's hesitation and loved WWX regardless of his different physique and new body. He truly loved WWX's soul. And also, in my honest opinion, we can't find our soulmates with a mindset of 'wanting someone like LWJ'. Because he loved WWX selflessly and wholly, he never wanted nor expected anything from him, not even to be loved back by him. He loved him, so he poured his everything to and for him. I think this is what most people fail to do or realize in real life. I've seen many people who claim they love someone with all their hearts that they will be by their side until death. But in reality, when they live together and see their partner's true self, they can't accept it. Certain behaviors of their partner is not to their liking or tolerance, so they wish their partners would change for them instead of, at least, trying to accept them for who they are and change themselves for their partner. But this doesn't mean that someone should tolerate an alcoholic's abuse in the name of love. Some people just don't deserve your love. You have to choose the right one in the first place. The one you think you can love with all your heart and the one you believe they are the one for you. As for their faults, you can accept and help them instead of blaming and condemning. Even if we couldn't find love as passionate and devoted as WWX and LWJ's, if we could focus on giving a little more instead of receiving, understanding a bit more than blaming, many of the relationaship problems would be solved. This was just my idealistic belief, don't read too much into it. 😸

2:53 it hurts just by watching. In the novel, he beats 33 Gusu elders to protect Weiying. He, therefore, suffers 33 whips, leaving 33 scars which can not be healed. It takes him 3 years to heal from all the wounds and to take purnishment for his action. All of that just to find out Weiying is dead within 3 years he's absent.

Even though the show had to be censored - how can anyone hear these songs, and watch these scenes, and not understand they are witnessing the greatest love story ever told? Between Wangxian (the couple's theme song), this song, and Qu Jin Chen Qing (We Wuxian's character song), the lyrics are very clear. I am continually amazed at the brilliance of the storytellers, music writers, and actors, and how they put together a brilliant production that showed us the depth of We Wuxian's and Lan Wangji's love so eloquently, and in a million different ways.
So touching... 😭 Lan Zhan only has eyes for Wei Ying, and will do anything for him even if it means getting punished severely for doing so. Wei Ying made Lan Zhan grow from a cold person to someone who is capable of caring. 😭
Lan Zhan indeed has cold appearance and very rigid personality, because he was born and used to obey all those thousand rules in Lan clan. But he naturally has a warm heart, just does not like to show it to people. At the beginnning, he let Jiang clan to get in without invitation, even he rejected them at first, but he managed to go and find them. This drama really got me hooked so bad 😊😊
The words of the last line plus that last shot of Lan Zhan stepping from the safety of the dry, warm room into the cold snow pelting down on Wei Ying to stand beside him is an elegant way to sum up his whole character arc. No one in this world loves like Lan Zhan does. 😭❤️
I’m so glad that this is just a story/novel. I can’t imagine how one could feel if their story is like Lan Zhan and Wei Ying 😢 Lan Zhan: bare the pain for 16 years believes he would see his love once again and it comes true. Wei Ying: bare all the burdens and left alone until one day he realizes that he was/is/will never be alone. Wangxian: in the end, you are the only one who stay.

I loved Yibo ever since his debut in Korea, but I never watched the untamed because I was busy with school and stuff when it came out, and I didn’t want to watch it later because everyone trying to make XiaoZhan and Yibo a thing. But a few days ago I started watching the untamed because I really want to watch Yibo act, and I fell completely in love with the show, not just Yibo, but with LanZhan. Yibo is such an amazing actor and he brought the character to life

That last line though .... ‘ With you by my side, I hope that you have been well, that you have suffered no illness or harm since our last farewell.” He hopes wei ying suffered no illness or harm since their last farewell(wy’s death)....even after wei ying told him multiple times to ‘Get Lost’ in the burial mound cave ... even though he went against his clan , elders and even his own principles to support him (and ultimately got whipped.. but never regretted it) he waited thirteen years playing inquiry over an over again yeilding no results... Lan Zhan’s love towards Wei Ying is one of the purest forms of love I have come across... he really deserved that happy ending to be with Wei Ying and so did Wei ying.. They both deserved to be with each other ❤️❤️❤️❤️ ( God I wish i had someone to love me like that)

I just love the matter how "Qu Jin Chen Qing" and "Bu Wang" doesn't have any dislikes till now. Actually,these two are not just mere songs,they convey two person's feelings, yearnings and their life-stories. And,Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo did such a splendid job in delivering the message with their voices, these two songs are just on another level.

Even though the show had to be censored - how can anyone hear these songs, and watch these scenes, and not understand they are witnessing the greatest love story ever told? Between Wangxian (the couple's theme song), this song, and Qu Jin Chen Qing (We Wuxian's character song), the lyrics are very clear. I am continually amazed at the brilliance of the storytellers, music writers, and actors, and how they put together a brilliant production that showed us the depth of We Wuxian's and Lan Wangji's love so eloquently, and in a million different ways.
So touching... 😭 Lan Zhan only has eyes for Wei Ying, and will do anything for him even if it means getting punished severely for doing so. Wei Ying made Lan Zhan grow from a cold person to someone who is capable of caring. 😭
Lan Zhan indeed has cold appearance and very rigid personality, because he was born and used to obey all those thousand rules in Lan clan. But he naturally has a warm heart, just does not like to show it to people. At the beginnning, he let Jiang clan to get in without invitation, even he rejected them at first, but he managed to go and find them. This drama really got me hooked so bad 😊😊

I loved Yibo ever since his debut in Korea, but I never watched the untamed because I was busy with school and stuff when it came out, and I didn’t want to watch it later because everyone trying to make XiaoZhan and Yibo a thing. But a few days ago I started watching the untamed because I really want to watch Yibo act, and I fell completely in love with the show, not just Yibo, but with LanZhan. Yibo is such an amazing actor and he brought the character to life

I just love the matter how "Qu Jin Chen Qing" and "Bu Wang" doesn't have any dislikes till now. Actually,these two are not just mere songs,they convey two person's feelings, yearnings and their life-stories.
