Please, please, please do the boho earrings. I have made the large bead. I love it. I will be making many more. I am so glad I found your channel. I am making a lot of stuff from your tutorials. 🐞
I really wasn’t sure people were interested in the fibre jewellery videos, given the beads and the bangles videos got hardly any views lol 😂 But I will make the earring video soon 🥰
I don’t believe I have ever had tutorials from a more lovable person than you Samantha. Also…more productive, and such a super teacher!!. ♥️🌹
Thank you so much much, I had no idea how jump rings were made…you are a very good teacher and I enjoyed it…❤
Now I understand chainmail better. I've never done it before because I just didn't get it. I watch you and it all comes together for me. You are the best teacher I've come across. I always look forward to your videos. Thank you. I hope you and your family are doing well. That includes little Glory too.
Hi Jeanetta! That’s so kind of you, although I am limited to my knowledge of chainmaille myself 😍 This is just my little foray into the art… I will be getting better at it myself one day. Not too bad here, thank you, and glory is doing wonderfully 🥰
OMG, thats the cutest bracelet! Ive never seen this before. Going to be trying it today! Thank you to the BEST teacher!!!❤😊❤
Samantha you're amazing!! Thank you SO much for all the tips and tricks to making useful jewelry pieces without spending a fortune!! I am also one who loves to make as much of my jewelry components as I can myself. You make it look so easy and you speak to us as if you were our best friend teaching us instead of an instructor dictating! That is something not everyone can do!! PLEASE keep up the great tutorials!! We love you🥰🥰!!!
So pretty...and I'm excited to make it!! Thanks, Samantha, I really share your esthetic
That is a stunning piece. Thank you for spoiling us with amazing skills to also learn!!!!!
You have made a wonderful, easy to follow tutorial!!! Thank you so much!! Have made several earrings for gifts!
So L💜VELY! I make chainmaille ALLLL the time & i have the "fancy gadgets" [saws/coil holders/etc] & I ALWAYS just prefer to make my j-rings this way! & I'm used to/prefer it this way! I don't have to lug out all of my equipment! Thank you for another great one!
Aloha!💜🤙🏼💜
You are much more of an expert at this than me, then! I’m very interested to learn more chainmaille techniques 🥰
I've always wanted to try this, but never have. Your tutorial is so clear and easy to follow, I think it's time I give it a go!
Those are so so cute. I will save this one to make. You are so easy to follow and I thank you for that the most.
Having just excitedly re-watched I’m running out back to my studio to give these cuties a go! Will post pics 🥰 you’re one of my very fav tutorial go-to from across the pond! What a lovely soul you are for sharing your warmth & gifts 😍
Wonderful tutorial for the bracelet & earrings thank you so much Samantha🌺
I really enjoy watching your tutorials. Currently my left shoulder is busted so I'm not able to craft anything. Your videos are so inspirational and easy for me to follow. English is not my first language..
Ah I’m sorry to hear that. Hope you heal very soon. And your English is brilliant 🤩
It's my first time trying chainmail, and your tutorials are great for beginners. I had twisted jump rings and hopefully will have enough to finish bracelet. Looking forward to more tutorials.
I’m certainly no expert in chainmaille but I adore the effect! I’m glad you found this beginner project easy to follow and the twisted rings sound gorgeous! ☺️
Hi Sam, This brought back memories for me! I said WOW, I remember making this exact cage bead many years ago, I had forgotten all about it LOL! I hope you are having a lovely weekend!?
Hi Linda. They’re so cute and way to make aren’t they! I’m no expert though 😍 I’m packing for a trip next week, which I’m SO looking forward to. Hope you’re well? I’ll respond to your email soon, lovely ☺️
I have an old tarnished necklace with beads that don't have holes. I think this design will be a great way to repurpose these beads!
That would be perfect! Just make sure they are large enough to not fall through the cages 🥰
Hi from Somerset, very nice and well explained . Fed up with this weather , where’s the sun ☀️
Love this bracelet! I have some irregular shaped nuggets without holes. I wonder if I can use them with this design. Time to play!
Ooh! That sounds like a great idea! Let me know ow how you get along 🥰
Thank you for this video, I have been trying to do chainmail and just could not understand it. Samantha you rock
I’m absolutely NO expert on chainmaille but I think these are ok for the beginner to master ☺️
I love this chainmail technique! Thanks for demystifying it. Time to get out the calipers and measure my bead stash. I assume for a bracelet or necklace that you just keep adding the segments until you get your desired length and add a clasp? It could be a while though! ❤
Absolutely! Just keep going and going until you have the length you want. It’s so satisfying 😍
I’ve tried to do bead capture before with no success. I’m wondering if maybe my jump rings weren’t the right size. I’ll be trying this again! Thanks
Enjoy your tutorials and designs. I have a question about wire; the bare copper wire turns dark after I work with it is there something to put on the wire to keep the brightness and shine? What do you look for in the different brands of wire out there ie, good, better, best? The wire pieces I make seem soft and can easily misshapen, is there something I can do to ‘harden’ the pieces? I made your heart bracelet and it came out great but I felt like it would too easily misshapen and I feel like I am doing something wrong. Do you know of a tutorial on wire fundamentals? TIA for the information.
Ok, so you can treat your bare copper pieces with a wax treatment (something like Renaissance Wax) where you rub the wax onto your pieces and then buff it off with a soft cloth. That can give the jewellery a coating which helps to protect it. Or you can patina pieces, which darkens the copper. You would then apply a wax treatment too if you want to keep the colour fast. Copper wire is by nature relatively soft, but you can work harden your components using a nylon or raw hide hammer, and a bench block, to stiffen the copper, which helps it to retain its shape. I’d direct you to channels such as Lily Tree, Door 44 Studios, Back To Earth Creations, as they have more in depth information on your questions, and are far more experienced and knowledgeable than I and I’m happy to defer to their expertise 🥰 Hope that helps.
Thanks you so much Sam for mentioning the wax treatment to stop the copper tarnishing. Another jewellery maker recommended a spray to seal the wire once antiqued, but it smells horrible and is still kinda sticky. I love the sound of the wax and will use that from now on. You really are a treasure.Sam!🌹
Sam, what happened to the bracelet video you did prior to this video? It was a wider wire bracelet that could be made with or without beads. I wanted to make it, but it seems to have disappeared.
I discovered an issue with it, and for ethical reasons, I removed it from my channel.
Must warn my neighbours there will be a lot of swearing coming from upstairs and to put their earplugs in....i will have a go however i envisage quite a few beads going rollyrolly on my carpet in the process, never to be seen again until my next hoover...you do make it seem possible,though...we shall see..
Hi I just wanted to thank you for explaining and showing the proper way to make jump rings.
You are so welcome!🤗
