Just mind blowing for me these shows went that far back. Just amazing! And endured, and endured, and endured...... I'm so grateful they did because that allowed me to enjoy them in the 70's, 80's and 90's when for me they were just mesmerizing. I miss those days of great daytime drama!
+TimsDale4ever The CBS soaps seem to be the ones preserved over the years. ABC 70's soaps I have been informed were lost. Too bad because it was their heyday in that decade.
"Soap Operas weren't for everyone but back when women worked at home Soaps kept them entertained and occupied during the day in between house chores and in later years college students watched both females & males,in later years more men began watching Soaps,I admit to watching in the 80's General Hospital,Days of Our Lives,Edge of Night, One Life to Live,Santa Barbara,Passions,& reruns of Dark Shadows,I like watching the older ones that i haven't seen in awhile & those i have not seen since they don't show reruns of daytime serials, most had their tapes wiped and erased soap history."-🤔🖥☕..
Peggy likely either got pregnant or maybe a better job offer. Those actors tended to move around in those days ad even as the years went on not uncommon.

Anacin was a frequent sponsor of LOL during it's long run on CBS. The show's announcer actually went on camera to do the commercials.

It's crazy how obviously these early soap operas use the draw of the daily drama to expose housewives to ads.
Don‘t be such a feminine!
They didn't try to hide that TV, just like radio, was a commercial medium. The sponsors of shows were clearly identified--primetime and daytime.
Really like Stephen Gethers. More than an actor.
Enjoy, “Search for Tomorrow”
on the CBS Television Network.
Anyone know how many episodes survived?
i dont know, there is only 6 or so in the Public Domain i can find.
Is that Bonnie Bartlet as Van?
adelgado75 It says Bonnie Bartlet at the end of the show.
DLAN 1122 Yes. Bonnie replaced Peggy McCay as Vanessa earlier in1955.
+adelgado75 Love seeing the stars I knew from TV in their infancy days starting out. So fun to spot them.
+Terrence Pickett _Why?,I Liked the First "Aunt Van".
