Everyone keeps talking about the whiter skin but honestly this is what her skin tone would be without a lot of the uneven skin tone/hyperpigmentation. The studio lights will reflect and make it appear washed out, but in natural lighting like at the end of the video you can see her neck, chest, and face looks well blended. Her chest was a lot lighter than her neck and face. It’s not saying she is ashamed of her skin color at all.

Beautiful makeup artistry... But my only concern is about making the model "appear" lighter in skin tone than what she is... We as people of color... regardless of how deep or light our HUE is... Honor it & be proud of the melanin.

Well for the most part bridal makeup is chosen after a few sessions with different looks and such so that is what the bride wanted. Her skin is beautiful but she wanted it even and adding heavy light and dark for people with darker skin tones helps in the dim light of weddings and flash photos.

So according to the bridal makeup her skin tone was not made so light bcz it was her matched skin tone... You can see when the whole makeup was done the skin colour did not looked so over...
She literally said "trust the process", it turned out pretty, the bride is pretty. Amazing work!
Amazing work. We can see clearly that the makeup artist did everything right, she has skills, the eyes look fantastic. To the people coming here to complain about the "whitening" of her skin tone: as a brazilian, I too think it's strange to use lighter foundation, but I have seen A LOT of asian ( japan, china, korea, pakistan, india, southern islands, middle east) makeup videos and I do understand that "looking whiter" is really a thing in some asian cultures. Is it wrong? I don't know, they have to decide for themselves, and change as a society if they want (yes I know there is a whole industry of whitening creams, toxic stuff etc) We from west must not judge. To me the bride looks happy with the results and thats what matters.
Totally, it is a cultural thing..they just don’t understand, they never been to Asia or experienced with it, or even have a friend from Asia. They can say whatever, not gonna change anything at local.

but that's why contour, highlighter and concealers exist. you use a foundation the exact same colour of you skin, and if darkens too much, you use concealer on the brighter parts. whitewashing should not be acceptable. even if partes of your face are lighter than the rest

A lot of women of color do extreme " baking " while completing there make up. However their natural skin oils, etc ....resets the skin tone and it eventually shines through . Some people do intentionally, some don't .

i mean yeah the bride wanted a light foundation, but the desire itself for a light foundation/ complexion in Asian cultures comes from a long history of colonization and beauty standards forced on women specifically. So she wanted light foundation, which may seem just like preference, but preference are shaped by society whether we want them or not

I'm sorry to say but with so many layers the makeup would start cracking in no time!! I was feeling very nervous while watching the makeup... Didn't like. The makeup, the eye shadows are not even blended properly.

Ok uh asked our thoughts so overall makeup was awesome Just AWESOME that's so obsessing
But dear the first thing is the Baking process I mean we only have to bake the under eye where we concealed and the place just below the where we contoured I mean next to the Cheek bone ..
The second thing which I might not know properly but I think and I just watched some people doing their eye makeup first then comes to face ... Sometimes there's the make up artist doing eye makeup just like they
apply moisturizer serum primer and then conceler in under eyes and the dark spots and then they do eye makeup and then apply foundation blush and all.. and sometimes there's artists .they apply foundation and conceler then Baking and then eye makeup and then comes to the blush contour highlights etc
And I think if uh are using foundation all over the face I mean even under the eye then don't use conceler and if uh are using foundation and conceler both then don't use foundation all over it's my personal suggestions 😅
