I once had a person complaining that there were so many Black people in fast food and impossible for white people to get a job. Yes, they are. Along with women, disabled workers, and LBTQIA workers. DIVERSITY EQUITY AND INCLUSION is a term that refers to efforts to hire more qualified people that fall under these categories because HISTORICALLY and without these federal mandates and programs these people do not get hired even when they are more or equally qualified as a white male (the group that has HISTORICALLY been granted the majority of jobs and promotions). DEI is a remedy to the decades of discriminatory hiring practices in this county by making HR departments prove that they are hiring fairly by hiring qualified people of color, veterans, disabled, and people of different faiths and sexualities. Without these protections jobs can go to the person with the most connections or that likes the same sports team as the hiring manager.... not qualified employees. And there's no legal recourse for the actual qualified candidates that were skipped over. This has happened historically and will happen again from the loss of these programs.
It is "federal staff/employees' that work in DEI offices that were recently created throughout the Federal Government (in Departments and Agencies) that are affected by this order. Not "federal staff/employees" that were hired through departmental or agency DEI initiatives. That would be impossible to do.

Yes, they are. Along with women, disabled workers, and LBTQIA workers. DIVERSITY EQUITY AND INCLUSION is a term that refers to efforts to hire more qualified people that fall under these categories because HISTORICALLY and without these federal mandates and programs these people do not get hired even when they are more or equally qualified as a white male (the group that has HISTORICALLY been granted the majority of jobs and promotions).
DEI is a remedy to the decades of discriminatory hiring practices in this county by making HR departments prove that they are hiring fairly by hiring qualified people of color, veterans, disabled, and people of different faiths and sexualities. Without these protections jobs can go to the person with the most connections or that likes the same sports team as the hiring manager.... not qualified employees. And there's no legal recourse for the actual qualified candidates that were skipped over. This has happened historically and will happen again from the loss of these programs.

It is "federal staff/employees' that work in DEI offices that were recently created throughout the Federal Government (in Departments and Agencies) that are affected by this order. Not "federal staff/employees" that were hired through departmental or agency DEI initiatives. That would be impossible to do.
