MWBC - SiCoGU (Finals)

TAKING HOME OUR FIRST INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE
It all started from a desire to represent the country that turned out to be a vision to bring pride for the Philippines someday.
It can be remembered that the Color Guard Alliance of the Philippines Inc. (CGAP) first competed for international competition in Thailand way back 2015 and has been continuing to endorse groups for several international competitions.
And after four long years, the SInag Color Guards a.k.a. SiCoGu bested 4 other teams during the Malaysia World Band Championship and was able to give the Philippines its first international title last July 13, 2019, at Alor Setar, Malaysia.
SiCoGu immediately placed first during the preliminaries but the journey getting there wasn't easy.
Mark Anthony Poblacion, SiCoGu's Team Captain shared that he is still in bliss after everything that happened. He even shared what he went through during day 1 til the finals.
"During the start of the training, I immediately dedicated my whole self to work out the entire program properly. I really wanted SiCoGu to win, one thing we haven't done over the years in competing internationally," Captain Anthony shared.
CGAP's very own Vice President, Kevin Glorioso, also added their experience during the finals round.
"Carrying the name of CGAP under our team pushed us to do our best. Not just for them but also to everyone who supported and prayed for us," Kevin said.
"During the finals, everyone was nervous. We saw how our competitors evolved but we just focused on our team and motivated them to do their best. I can't just let go of everything most especially with Meloi, CGAP's Chairman, who did everything to make this happen," he added.
As per SiCoGu's Director and CGAP's Chairman Meloi Ducut, he's proud of his members for giving their very best during the competition. He also added that the participants are well trained too.
Gaining new experience, lessons, and friends made also SiCoGu as if they won already.
But above all, Director Meloi pointed out that it inspired him to do more, "being the first group be proclaimed as Champion for the Open Category as well as Over All Champion for an international event, it pushed me to do better. To give pride not just for my group, but also for the association, and most importantly for our country."
As for CGAP, winning the Malaysia World Championships means more work for everybody and much bigger challenge on future events as what we are usually with CGAP: accomplishing one dream after another.
We never really expect things to turn out this way but we are always hopeful to have the best results of everything we do. We will always keep the COLORS IN MOTION.
