Every time I watch the earthquake happening in this video, I get flashbacks to that day. Never felt the earth move like that before. It was freaky. I was hiding under the desk in the office - totally the wrong thing to do btw 🙈

Kutch is an actual desert in North Western Gujarat. It is also called white desert. It has Rann utsav which means desert festival during Winters here dat is from November to January, which includes kite flying festival which is a trademark of this place. In the middle of Gujarat, there is this forest area with Girnar mountain at the center. Forest called Gir forest...only home of the Asiatic Lion. The temple is also a big tourist attraction as it set just by the ocean and even has historical significance..!!! So yaa... setting a trip for 4-5 days in Gujarat is a gud plan ✌️
PS - The forest region has a nice city with few towns around where they have lived for actual thousands of years with actual forest rangers around the forests and in the towns. It is true dat Lions roam around the whole area freely but these Lions have lived their lives like this and their routine places are set so u will most likely see them there.
Kutch has desert but not whole kutch is desert dude. I live here for past 4 years and it has its fair share of greenery.

Such a irony that earthquake came while reacting to Gujarat tourism which was hit with the biggest earthquake India have till now.
I am not a resident of Gujarat but I did do a solo trip to Rann of Kutch and did have the best experience there. It's culturally and visually rich and beautiful. Please do visit if you can. You will not return sad, that I can promise.

That temple is in my hometown!! It was built of gold I mean literally!! 15 times to be exact then was invaded same time!! But for the 16th time it was built out of stone!! Nearly at the time of Independence!!

Somnath was one of the richest temples of India back then, it is said it took 50 days for transportation of the wealth on the backs of their animals for the invader.

I was born in the same district of 'Gir-Somath' (junagarh at the time) which comprises of 2 of these 3 (2nd and 3rd) shown here and currently studying in college in Kutch, the third (first) one.

I felt several times earthquake in East Bengal... Specially in the year of 2015, 2016.... Though the epicenter was in Nepal...but still it was very high on Richter's scale...n Nepal n north of West Bengal suffered the most....

This earthquake reminds me the worst earthquake happened in 2001 kutch, Gujarat. Now Gujarat have the tallest statue of the world 'statue of unity ' please do visit Gujarat after this pandemic. We have the best vegetarian food and heritage to experience. Proud Gujarati here.
I've been to Gir forest and we were in one of those open jeeps... luckily we saw a lioness just after a unsuccessful hunt she walked past us a few feet away, and was not interested in humans at all... she looked at humanity as such a nuisance

The white sands which you saw, is the Salt Desert of the Rann of Kutch formed by the retreat of the Arabian Sea over time from this region over around 5000 years. It spreads over something around at least 20000 sq.km . Ruins of the Indus valley civilization port city of Dholavira are also found here. Oh, and it's definitely HOT and bone dry.
The Somnath temple you see currently was built just after independence. The original Somnath Temple was destroyed by Mahmud of Ghazni, an Afghan warlord, sometime around the 1160s (who carted of a treasure of 20 million dinars at that time as per Wikipedia). It was rebuilt again by the Chalukya kings of Gujarat but it was again sacked and destroyed by the then Sultan of Delhi Alauddin Khilji in 1299. The version seen today is built in 1951.
The first place is actually salt dessert. People call it white sand losely. Please search Rann of Kutch utsav. It's a fest organised by government of Gujarat. It usually takes place around November to January. During that utsav AC tent with all the facility are provided by government. It's a best mix of serenity and culture.

Basically it is salt. it the main source of edible salt india. the temple is an archeological masterpiece. the turban look and design changes every state, punjabi, Rajasthani, gujrati etc are different to each other. he was wearing very traditional wear. you can still see the villagers wearing those regularly. Temple is one of the most visited god places in India. its very spiritual

In Gir forest you can have open Gypsy Safari, mostly its safe. I have been visited 10 times.
Humans can walk around in Gir forest, and the lions are free and won't attack you. Ever. I went as a 1 year old, and there was no fear.
@@pritharoychowdhury5020 Well you are right but you should not walk in forest, also its against rules. There were few recent incidents lion attacked. But its safe if you dont leave your Gypsy. Every Gypsy will have driver and Guide to mentor us properly.

Co incidentally Gujarat had one of worst earthquake in history of India. Kutchch and Bhuj showcased in this commercial were entirely demolished and many cities like Ahmedabad suffered heavy casualties. I still remember it was republic day 26 January early in the morning. The only good thing that happened, if you can call it a good thing is that most kids were at school for the parade and were saved because they were in open ground. But their homes were all in rubbles and most of them were orphaned by this tragedy.
Do not hide under the table, that's something I've seen Americans do and it's only a last minute resort or for people who aren't capable of running. If you live in multi storeyed apartment, you should run down the flight of stairs and avoid elevators. Open ground is the safest place.

In case you didn't focus, Mr. Bachchan said in the 3 advertisement. Lion and man share this land in peace, respecting each other.
For going in the forest of gir, there will be a forest officer with us. So no need to worry. Besides this is the only lion sanctuary in whole Asia.

Today we are trying to save them and all.. but I would not wanna live with the terror of being eaten like that.
I've lived in Jungles my whole life and where I live right now , we are wary of elephant herds.. they come to some place for water , and if the waters polluted, they get pissed off and destroy the neighbouring habitation.
