Thank you. Please, I have a question. What is the difference between a hybrid and a scallop, for me, I find them almost the same. My question is in which parts can I use the hybrid method but I cannot use the scallop method, and where can I use scallops and not use the hybrid?
In Mastercam 3D finishing, Hybrid is a combination between scallop and waterline and that’s nearly the main difference. So, scallop is just scallop motion and hybrid is scallop combined with waterline motion. It´s totally up to the user which technology they like to use. In 5-Axis, Hybrid is just the name of the toolpath because this single toolpath contains a lot of difference strategies und options to create perfect 5-axis motion. We hope this answer helps 😊 Best regards!
