Hello, John. I hope you and your family are doing great. I like the Coleman single burner. I wouldn’t mind getting one. You can’t go wrong with spam and eggs. ✌️🇺🇸

Good to see you again. I dig the vintage Coleman stove. Maple Spam might be my favorite flavor. I love the XHDATA D-808. It's a pretty good radio. Can't go wrong with the USGI mess kit and utensils. GSI gear has never let me down. USGI canteen set is as good as it gets, but the British Crusader kit is awfully good too. Would you recommend an MLA-30?

@Jaxon1776 Thanks for your comment. I would recommend the MLA-30. It works great when I'm camping or away from electronics that make noise on the bands. Sometimes, it's not good at my house because it just amplifies the noise I already have. It just depends where you are. Thanks for watching my video!

Thanks for the SW tips! Recently I've had good success with fried eggs in a stainless pan that's got a little stuck bacon on it (with bacon grease still in the pan, of course). With low heat and a close-fitting lid, the eggs steam with just the liquid in the whites, the yolks will start to just turn opaque in 3-4 minutes -- and a flexible steel spatula easily lifts them out of the pan very cleanly!

Great to see you back! Took my daughter on a canoe trip, & carried my g90. Was able to send "we're all good" winlink messages. Turned out the spot we were transmitting from was one of the few spots we had cell service! So after the emails went out, i called my wife & we told of our adventure! 😂

That's very cool! Winlink HF is one thing I haven't taken the time to do. I have only done vhf through local nodes and through APRS. I have the equipment, so one day I'll get it done. Thanks for watching and for your comment!

Love those Coleman stoves! I have a more modern one with multi fuel capabilities. The canister stoves are easier but rather the gas stoves for emergencies! Thanks for sharing.😊

The Spam wasn't burnt, just nicely browned 😃What I have found to combat sticking in a steel pan is treat it like cast iron and hot pan with cold oil. Just what I've found that works for me.

Hard to beat SPAM ‘n EGGS with grits. Instant grits are perfectly fine for doing this stuff…. It’s definitely better than no grits!!! I had some bacon flavored ones this past weekend. The ol’ Coleman is looking good John.

Instant Grits are the hikers answer to a good breakfast. A buddy of mine paddled the Boundary Waters in Canada ( 30 days ) and for breakfast he would have a pack of instant Oatmeal and a pack of Instant Grits mixed together. Myself I like then separate. Everglades seasoning , Don't be caught from home without any. Try the Turkey Spam. I cooked a turkey dinner with stove top dressing , Instant potatoes , Gravy and Cranberry sauce in the middle of the Okefenokee Swamp ( Floyd's Island ) for myself and 4 paddling buddies.

@Oldsparkey I think I would prefer the oatmeal and grits separately. But to have variety on a long trip, I might give it a try. I might give the turkey spam a try too. Thanks for your comment!

Heh, heh, that also crossed my mind. Speaking of G.I., the radio on the TV show was a Packard Bell model 8RT2 AM but in the promotional material Thurston Howell the 3rd, is holding a large Magnavox Celestial Model FM-97 4-band receiver that obviously has the marine band and shortwave.
It would make sense to have more than one radio and quite possibly while millionaire Howell was on holiday he’d listen to the stock reports and business news.
As for the AM reception on G.I. since it was only a three hour tour chances are a local Hawaii islands station or two could be picked up during the day, but at night they would have been able to pick up a multitude of AM stations from 100s if not 1000s of miles away.
Anyway, thanks for your post. PS. Mary Ann was my favourite, with the Professor at number 2.

Your pot looks very much like mine. My great uncle had one issued to him. He was at the train station in 1918 to be shipped overseas when news of the war ended. He did not end up going to Europe. The handle is stamped US 1918. Is yours dated? Great vid.

I watch heaps of this type of YT video and always ask about entertainment? The SW radio 📻 would go a long way to providing that.
While I sometimes took a SW radio with me, I generally only took a small transistor AM / FM radio with me when motorcycle 🏍 camping back in Australia in the 1980s. I’d also pack a small portable chess set with some printed games and puzzles. A paperback book 📕. A hand held computer game and a pack of cards 🃏, etc. Never got bored out in the Australian bush.
Not enough people give much thought to entertainment on trips, especially during unexpected downtime.

@penguinvic9892 Thank you for your comment. Being a radio guy, I enjoy taking one and just seeing what I can hear from around the world. I'm also into Amateur radio and GMRS. I enjoy setting up a battery powered station and try to talk to my friends back home or other people I don't know. It's a great form of entertainment when hanging around camp, driving a road trip or staying at a hotel. Thanks for watching!
