It was around 1982 I had the priviledge of seeing what I believe is the last time the 'Spirit of Healesville' train ran. It was in the afternoon upon returning to Burnley station after school I saw it rumbling through Platform 3 on its way to Healesville I presume? Two carriages, no passengers. Very sad! 😥
Judging by all the scratches on the front window it must be the original one. Remember riding on the little rail motors from Castlemaine to Maldon when I was a small boy. Very scenic part of Victoria, nice tour of the yard too, lot of that collection will never run again.
Nice videography. The freight wagons are better described as goods wagons. It's always the way that someone like Emma's mum is being load lol. Keep it up. If you're at Puff and I'm firing say hi.
Another great video my friend you did a great presentation about the history and so forth and lovely filming as well. I said not much has really changed since I was up there at the beginning of the year you probably would have seen my videos of it. I will put this video up on my community page on my channel for everyone to look at your great job
@@Victorian_steam yes the weather is not really good at the moment but yeah you gotta do what you gotta do some times does give you the heads up you probably know that the climax train is up and running on the 29th of April
Howdy again. Love your latest video, I go past Healisville on a regularl basis for work heading out to Warburton & beyond & I look at all thoes beautiful rail carriages just sitting out in the weather rotting away its a very sad sight indeed 😭 I thought that the new shed might have bern finished by now but alas no 😢. Do you know about the walhallarail ? I'm yet to take a ride on it & likewise the Daylesford rail, Daylesford was once a passanger service from Melbourne, likewise the Queenscliffe line, talking of Warburton there's some rail history there aa well. Anyway look forward to the next video & keep up the great work. 😊🤗.
Fantastic video mate. I have been wanting to visit the Yarra Valley Railway for a while now to ride and chase the train. Great little train they have there.
I'm buggered if I know why no state govt will get this line re-opened at Lilydale? It would be a welcome service for the people along the line. If I lived at Coldstream, Yarra Glen or Healesville I'd want to be getting a train from Lilydale rather than a bus.
@@Victorian_steam yeah but why isn't the state govt getting this line running from.Lilydale? It would be a big tourist drawcard. Especially for tourists wanting to go to Healesville Sanctuary. People are pathetic these days, nobody cares .
Because@@garynewton1263 the state government ( especially this state government) are more interested in spending BILLIONS on never ever rail tunnels that will never see the light of day than reconnecting closed lines for people like your self, they have been trying to close the stoney point line for years, they should also reopen the Mornington & Mildura lines but don't hold your breath. Ive just come back from Newcastle oh my god we could learn a thing or 2 from NSW I flew to Syd, 15 mins after I landed I was on a train from Syd A/P Syd Central Stn, a 10 min ride I was on at Central Stn 5 mins latee I was on a central coast regional train so easy & so cheap unlike this state the lack of Airport rail is just a sky bus protection racket. Our rail lines are constantly closed & replaced by buses, the Gippsland line has not run properley for 5 years, why would you catch the slow v/line train from southern cross to Albury with no cafe car & uncomfortable seats when you can catch the fast comfortable NSW XPT. The list of rail problems in this state just goes on & on. Yes I'm passionate about rail & aviation ( closed regional airports )

That would’ve been a sight to see! Wish I could’ve seen these old lines in action
@@Victorian_steam Mansfield line was excellent. I saw goods trains between Yea and Bonnie Doon in 1982.

We may lose the main line trains but glad to see heritage trains getting their own lines!
