Hi! Mom of five here! Try having Mo give him the bottle, especially during nighttime feedings, babies can smell your milk and that might be discouraging Adam from taking the bottle from you too

Salaams. I used the toddler milk from Enfamil and mix with whole milk and my son loved it, I eventually started to cut back the powdered milk from the whole milk to none and he just drinks the whole milk now alhamdulilah

I just stopped breastfeeding almost a month ago and my one was very attached, especially in social situations. She would wake up constantly throughout the night too. I put medium ish plasters and would call it owww whenever she lifted my top and I also started her normal milk during the day and slowly a few days later gave it her at night too. First she wouldn’t take it but after a lot of hugs and some crying she took to it. Hope that helps! It’s definitely a game changer once you stop for your own mental and physical health x

I used Graham milk (another mama recommended it!) It’s a thicker milk than the usual ones! And then two weeks later she was fine with the normal milk

Hi lovely! Here is what helped here: cold turkey reduced the night feedings and said mom is in pain. I stuck a plaster on my nipple, one from Peppa Pig haha. It was very hard, but at some point she knew there was no milk coming. She was 20 months old.

Hi Omeya, I had the exact same issue except i ended up weaning my son at 2. My son always refused a bottle, sippy cups etc all of it. But what did work was I put plasters on my nipples to show him its got oww and there’s no milk and gave him a carton milk pack with a straw. He would drink that. During the day it was fine and at night it was really difficult my son cried for a very long time but i didn’t give up. He saw the plasters he couldn’t access the breastmilk and cried. Eventually after a few days he was fully weaned. It was extremely tough but for a whole year i tried softer methods and it did not work. This was the last resort. Whatever you try remain persistent and don’t give up! Once he was fully weaned he was sleeping throughout the whole night and it was clear my breast was his comforter, he wasn’t actually hungry. I wish you all the best. I know its so hard but just know that you are doing amazing, both you and Mo, and you got this! ❤

I don't know how useful this might be for you. I'm sure you're probably doing this already, but I'll mention it just in case this is the issue. Make sure the bottle milk is warm. BM is warm (body temp). Room temp milk might not be as soothing and could be taking away from the experience of drinking milk at night. Again, I don't know if this going to help you, but I discovered that to be the case when my baby hated bottled milk. Alhamdulillah, she drinks it just fine now that I learned to warm it up lol.

Hi, Omaya! No advice, I'm sorry, just to say that I've been there. My son also hated bottles, although he had no problem with water bottle. So the issue was really the milk. I stop breastfeeding at 18 months, the nightfeeds was the last ones that I dropped slowly one by one and Alhamdulillah he didn't ask for it after that. But he is 3 years old now and still doesn't want to drink milk. My doctor said as long as he eats yogurt, cheese, dairy stuff in general, it's fine. I've tried everything but he simply doesn't like it.
By your son age they don't need to eat during the night anymore, and if they wake up crying, doesn't mean they're hungry....just try to soothe him back to sleep without feeding him. I know it's tiring, but he will eventually get used to not feeding during that time anymore in sha Allah. :)

Until you stop brestfeeding he will not take the bottle. So what I did is put salt on my nipple, or something bitter, or hot sauce and after a few days my son stopped drinking during the night because he didn’t like it anymore. After a few weeks he started drinking cow milk from his bottle.

I weaned my son when he was 1, he also showed no interest in dairy milk and hated bottles. We weaned anyway and then reintroduced milk bottles around 14-15 months and he loved it! He still takes 2 bottles a day. I think babies get so used to the breast and taste of breast milk, give him a little time to forget about it and then try and you’ll be surprised!

Assalaamu Alaykum sister, I would say drop the feedings till you only feed him once a day and that be usually at night. During the day distract him from feeding on you and give him a bottle he may not like this at the start but perseverance is key. If this doesn't work then unfortunately you may have to go cold turkey if its affecting you and your health. I hope this helps❤

With my daughter when I weaned her she was not interested in cows milk … and still isn’t… tried flavoured milk and everything lol, she just wouldn’t take it. So I gave her cheese and yoghurts. With my son he is lactose intolerant so I just give him cheese and yoghurts too because he doesn’t seem to react to them as much lol. He doesn’t like lactose free milk much either. I don’t know if it’s bad advice, but Alhamdulillah my kids are doing fine without milk and I just make sure to incorporate other forms of dairy into their diet.

Assalamu alaikum. Mine was the same ! He did not take any bottle.. well he drank water from a bottle but never milk. So we first started with sleep training so he wont wake up that often during the night. In the beginning I only breastfed him once during the night (for a couple of nights).. and then stopped that too. This is NOT easy !! it is not easy to hear your baby cry but trust me they learn !! And they still love you and it wont harm him ! At that point i still breastfed him in the morning, then once or twice during the day (depending on if i could distract him) and then i breastfed him to sleep. After a couple of days I gave him the breast for like 2 minutes and after that I immediately gave him a warm bottle of milk (Try matching it to the temp of breastmilk).. and HE TOOK IT!! I was shocked but he was hungry in the morning so he drank from it. After a couple of days I started giving him the bottle at night too and then during the day.
So for me it was a slow process (it probably took a few weeks (like 2.5-3 weeks)) ... the only hard part was the sleep training.. everything else is easy. Because after half of the night (around 6 hours) of no milk he is going to be hungry and if you first offer your breast and then the bottle he will be happy in sha Allah. At least thats hot we got him to drink out of the bottle which he never did before.
    I hope this helps

ohh yeah before that he wanted the breast every 30 to 40 min at night. And I gave it to him.. on a good night he didnt nurse for 2 hours ..but thats it .. that is the longest he went at nights without a feed at 11 month old. so for context I nursed him off at 11 month old..

İ am young mom and i wanted to drop brestfeeding becouse its so hard when baby was 1 year old. but actually, in Quran in surah Baqara there is verse that says that babies should be breastfeeded till age of 2. And, even tho it was really hard i suck it up till babies 2 year birthaday. And honestly, it was the best decision ever. They are little just once, and even tho it is hard you will be so proud later on. For 2 years i was up all night feeding baby and it was hard! But definitly worth it. İf you can, i suggest you to make it till age of 2. İt really is so important to babies.
-and also i had 3 babies, all two years apart and i brestfeeded them till age of two (while pregnant also). So i breastfeeded for 6 years straight without break.
And i dont regret it, its totally worth it.
İ will have insAllah a lot nights and years to sleep and rest, this time will never come back….

Hello salam dear. I'm ur new subscriber from singapore. I understand how u feel abt getting ur son off breastfeeding. I'm a mother of two and i breastfeed my last daughter abt 2 yrs 2 months. I manage to get her off by puting a bit of paracetamol add with water on my nipple so if she wants to breastfeed she will taste the bitter and will reject it. It will take some time but this is the best advice 😅. My daughter now is 16 yrs old and she doing well at school. She going college next yr ❤.

Slm Omaya, I also don't like sushi my husband and alot of my family members eat it but i couldn't stand raw fish to me it has to be cooked. My husband then let me try fried sushi and i must say it's way better, so I eat those instead still not the raw ones.
Weaning can be tough process but yeah let Muhammad try feeding him at night and yes try to bitter things on the boobie area to get him to not take on the boobs.
