The petticoat can be butter crepe, or satin - both look good. I suggest you have it fitted or tapered for a slightly form fit. This makes the saree look more shapely.

when i make the front pleats somehow the pleats are not at the same level from the grond,they look apparently levelld from top>any trick?
hareramable Hi ! If the pleats are at the same level on top, but still uneven at the bottom then they're probably unequal widthwise. There's not really any trick to that unless you pre-drape your saree which makes everything super easy. You can watch my video on the same glam.rs/ReadyToWearSaree

Thank you for this video! Saree are so beautiful and I wonder if they might be a requirement for visiting holy places or ceremonies in India, the way sarongs tend to be required when visiting Hindu/Buddhist temples in Java and Bali.
The pallu pleating technique is somewhat similar to what Indonesians call "wiru" in Javanese, which is the proper pleat for wearing unsewn batik sarongs. We use paper clips to secure wiru and keep them in while wearing batik. But then batik tends to be made of stiff cotton instead of flowy silks like saree. So I wonder if the paper clip trick might work in saree, or if it would show and weigh down the saree, since saree fabrics are so light.
Practical question: since saree are so long and drapey, how does one use the toilet while wearing it? I presume that just like in Indonesia, squat toilets are the norm in rural India?
Hi there, sarees are a beautiful, traditional garment worn by many Indian women. Though they can be dressed up for special occasions, saree are also comfortable and practical. For women in India who frequent places such as holy sites or ceremonies, wearing a saree may be customary. The pleating of the pallu is similar to the Indonesians' "wiru" technique used on batik sarongs, but it is important to remember that paper clips used to secure wiru may not work as well with light fabrics like those found in sarees. You can pin them up with a safety pin.
When it comes to using the toilet while wearing a saree, it can be tricky - especially given that squat toilets are often still used in rural India. To make things easier, try folding your saree and draping it over your shoulder or arm before using the facilities. If using a regular toilet you can just pull them up like a skirt and drape the pallu over your shoulder.
Additionally, carrying safety pins with you can help keep your saree secure throughout the day.

I am man but I am little feminine so my wife told me to be full time housewife.
