Transactional Leadership" is the ultimate "Quid Pro Quo", the ultimate "Hypothetical Imperative" "if you do this, then I will do that for you"...in essence; "if" follows "then". The "carrot" becomes the value - the "stick" becomes the price for non-performance....what say you?

Yes, I agree. In some situations, though, transactional leadership is more appropriate. Nevertheless, Bernard Bass always wants leaders to move towards becoming more transformational along the transactional-transformational continuum.
