After gaining the technique of Ambidexterity, Xiao Long Nu mastered the full form of the Quanzhen Sect + Jade Maiden dual swordplay. At this point, she still thought Yang Guo was dead (important, because it allows her to remain cold). At this particular moment, Xiao Long Nu is the most powerful person in all of Jin Yong's works. However, it was a bit of a temporary boost, since Yang Guo ended up not being dead and that revelation messed up her internal balance, and she never quite reached that level of power again.
But look at it. Jinlun is on a level with the Greats of the age. Plus all the others she's holding off at the same time, most of those guys are not nothing to sneeze at. The Quanzhen group? Even individually they're not bad, a tier or two down from the greats, but together easily able to press the Greats (They did it in the original Condor Hero). The Reverend's companions? All are on par with the Quanzhen groupmembers, at least.
Ultimately, it's a big question, is she on par with Dugu Qiubai at that particular point? Qiao Feng from Demi-Gods & Semi-Devils? The other hero from DGSD? The Moon Maiden (Or the kick ass Ape that taught her)? Sweeper Monk (Also from DGSD - brief appearence, kicks everyone's ass then goes back to his sweeping - Widely debated if he's as good as Dugu Qiubai)?
I'd argue yes, but obviously only in that timeframe. She's using a stupidly powerful suite of skills - The Ambidextrous one, the dual forms of swordsmanship invented by two of the great masters of the last generation to be supplemental with each other. She has the necessary emotional balance. She's possibly got the most stupidly high amount of Inner Force possible seeing how long she spent with the Ice Bed even before Yang Guo showed up.
This is where she reached her full potential. Sadly, it was short lived. She obviously does not lack the discipline considering that she grew up in the tomb sect and was trained to be heartlessly fierce, but the emotions that were awakened in her distracted her growth and focus, thus, her skills kind of stagnated and her love for Yang Guo took over.

The tomb sect's teachings closely resemble those of Taoism; emphasis of an eternally calm state of mind, consumption of honey (mystified in both past and present), and usage of the cold-jade bed all serve to prolong life expectancy, best exemplified by retention of youth and ability to suppress the love-poison's effects. Frankly, this scene is utter bs. The book describes her feat as a simple matter of extraordinarily swift and continuous strikes such that 40 independent impacts converge in sound, giving the impression of an exceptionally long-lasting echo.

Not really. She actually mastered the Jade Maiden Swordplay’s final and most powerful form, which was to be used with Quanzhen swordplay. She had to rely on Yang Guo to do it but now that she learned to be ambidextrous, she was able to reach the peak of her abilities by herself, which is why she whooped JingLun’s ass earlier. She probably would’ve killed him if the others didn’t intervene and gang up on him.
She is one of the most skillful women in Chinese Wu Xia series not because of her internal power but it is how fast her swords sway. It is considered as one of the fastest sword style. Yeahhh, one of my fav character.

@Vlnxd Roa yr crazy, carmen lee is singular. crystal liu is not that hot so many actresses are better looking like the entire female cast of 2014 especially li mu cho. Her eyes are beady tiny and drifting towards one another almost cross eyed and she looks like a puppy or yr farmer neighbor daughter in the chairman mao era or a highschool girl that watches anime and never learned to use makeup or dress.

Liu Yifei played this role so well. This really the best iteration of Xiao Long Nu.
I'm pretty sure Xiao Long Nu didn't think Yang Guo was dead at this point. She just doesn't know what happened to him. In the novel, she does ask herself something along the lines of "I wonder how he's doing. Is his poison cured? Has he married Guo Fu yet?"
And her internal energy is very weak compared to Jin Lun. She even said to herself that when she's using both sword styles together, the force is not as strong as when she uses it with Yang Guo, but one person using it will be way faster than two people. So all she has is speed, not strength.
Also, the strongest from Jin Yong's novels have got to be Du Gu Qiu Bai (who was described as not being able to find an opponent that would make him switch his sword to defend a single time), Sao Di Shen Seng (who knows many of Shaolin's 72 special skills), and Zhang San Feng (who possessed over 100 years of internal energy).
Those who think Yang Guo is the strongest is terribly wrong. Yang Guo's admits that his inner energy is nowhere near as strong as Guo Yuan's (Zhang San Feng's master) who learned all of Jiu Yang Shen Gong. Zhang Wu Ji learned Jiu Yang Shen Gong and Qian Kun Da Nuo Yi, but Zhang San Feng still says that Zhang Wu Ji's energy is very strong but not as strong as his own.

Liu Yifei played so good as Xiao Longnu, and there was should be a fierce long battle between her and 4 mongol warriors in this scene. Too bad the director didn't make full battle scene as in the novel.

That guy who got tied up rapes the girl in white while she was laying on grass unable to move. He covered her eyes so she didn’t know who did it and thought it was the man that she love. It created some misunderstandings between the couple and separated them for a while. You can guess when she found out about the truth she was very very very 😡. Might be an understatement.

Despite having only one arm, after all it is said and done, I would have to say Yang Guo. It is because of his ability to utilize his brain and think more clearer than Guo Jin. Keep in mind that Guo Jin was not the brightest person growing up.

Because Sweeper Monk is far stronger than the already superhuman-like Xiaoyao Sect's leaders Wuyazi, Mt Tian Tonglao and Li Qiushui mainly because he has no attachment and is thus free from troubles, Sweeper Monk being stronger than Dugu Qiubai is on the assumption that DGQB is seeking defeat and has a lot of regrets for not meeting the sweeper monk. If Sweeper Monk gives him the defeat he seeks, he would 'feel alive again' and last time he 'felt alive' he came up with the ultimate Counter to all kungfu: The Dugu 9 Swords... Not to mention according to the TV series: Jian Mo dugu qiubai he did managed to transcend beyond the Defeat Seeking Sword Demon state to a level where he is pretty much in same state of mind as the Sweeper Monk.
Regardless of how you pit them against each other, these two is 100% sure to have no intention of going against each other... Sweeper Monk will see no need to step out and help Dugu Qiubai which he did in Semi-Devils, demi-gods because he felt Xiao yuanshan, Xiao Feng, Murong Bo, Murong Fu needed his help to clear their grudges. The Transcended Dugu Qiubai at the end of his series definitely can match Sweeper Monk but even if they do spar... you'll be lucky they both even put in 1% of their true power.

The book stated that if her internal power was at least on par with one of the guy, she would wipe them even faster, she relied on her skills to overwhelm them at first and slowly got tired and if Yuan Guo didn't come, she would lost eventually.
I thought her internal skills were really high themselves being she slept on the jade bed for sometime. Its Just not as high as golden wheel monk.
She will lose eventually when fighting 1v4, but has more than enough to beat this monk alone. The monk gt strong internal strength but his skills and mentality is weak. He eventually decided to use speed to fight xiaolongnv, which means not using his strength, if he didnt receive help from others xiaolongnv will certainly have killed him

FOr what I have seen she is dangerous even for herself, everything she touchs and do, become crap pretty fast.
Xiao Long Nu gets stuck in a valley for years, until finally reuniting with Yang Guo her student. They then confront the Mongol force invading the Song dynasty, where Yang Guo kills the Tibetan monk with the bladed wheeled weapon, and assassinates the Mongol leader Mongke Khan. In the novel I think he did it by throwing a stone so hard it hit Mongke in the back and came out the front, but in this adaptation he runs through hordes of Mongol troops and impales him in a spear.
The Mongols then self destruct in civil war (as in real life), before succeeding the next time in conquering the Song, and setting up the Yuan dynasty (as in real life). They are then overthrown in the next novel in the series "Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber," leading the formation of the Ming Dynasty. Heaven Sword and Dragon saber seems to have the most adaptations to television, even more than Return of the Condor heroes. You should check it out.

Chris, instead of basing your assertions by relying on reading subtitles (which are weak and loose translations of the adapted Chinese screenplay/script of this particular 2006 TV drama version, itself one of many adaptations over the years of the original 1959 serialized novel The Return of the Condor Heroes), read the original novel or a verbatim translated version.

no she doesn't have even close to the fastest as the fastest sword style in wu xia so far that I have watched is from the drama swordsman 2013 the originator of the sword style that Wallace Huo learned was so fast that he his nickname was wishing to lose since he would never lose. If he did lose he was happier than winning. The strongest part about that sword style is that the user uses random moves and there isn't a counter for that style.
