I got this from Santa when I was about 4yo. It was amazing! It completely amazed me how it worked with no batteries. Spent a fair bit of time running around the house trying to clip it to various metal objects. Awesome toy for its time.
I had one too. Never actually received a station with it... AM was already on its way out (FM stereo replaced is) in Europe then. And I didn't know that the metal fences in our neighborhood had plastic shielding, ha ha. 😁 So what the kid on the box did, didn't work for me. Once I realized that you had to attach the clip to _bare_ metal I only heard static, no matter what I did w/ the antenna to receive a station.
Hello, a friend had this radio when we were children, his father bought it in the USA in 1976, in my country Chile it was difficult to find. Two weeks ago I bought on Ebay a Six Million Dollar Man 1975 first edition and it fulfilled my dream. Excellent video, thank you, greetings.
I remember many nights clipping this backpack radio to a metal bookshelf next to my bed and listening to strange AM radio broadcasts when I was a kid. I was supposed to be sleeping... :) Mine worked.

Thanks for watching.
Saludos desde Santiago!. También colecciono figuars biponicas y tengo esta radio.
This thing is awesome! There were so many cool toys made back in the days of our youth!
Good stuff. Got more for you $$$ back then.
I have a very vague memory of having the radio but not the action figure. Memory dates back to 79. Thanks for the video.
These are still found MIB often. So you could have gotten one as late as 1979. Thanks for watching.
I'm loving these videos John Wild! Working my way through your Six Million Dollar Man playlist!
I had this and used it as an AM radio years later.
It worked. That was a great selling point of this toy/appliance. Thanks for watching.
awesome accessory for a great figure!
Six Million Dollar Man had great accessories.
So cool !!.....The good AM channel days....lol
When I was a kid a FM radio was a luxury. AM radio WKBW at 50,000 watts! Transister radio with one ear piece. Stereo what is that?
really awesome video!
Thank You.
I had Steve and this radio backpack. I remember the little white antenna knob came off.
A few of my spares have missing knobs. Don't have a working one in my collection. Maybe they never worked.

Yes indeed. AM radio. The kids today don't know how great they have it.
I HAD THAT FIGURE AS A KID
Hope you enjoy the trip down memory lane.
I had one of these but I could never get it to work! I have a boxed one now.
The Bionic jock itch cream was not included.
I never got mine to work
Bummer. Better ground maybe.
