"I will get to the belt faster than Khabib" - Muhammad Mokaev

- Undefeated (8-0) UFC Fighter Muhammad Mokaev has said in a recent interview with Russian Media outlet RB Sport: Mixed Martial Arts that he will get to the UFC Championship Title faster than compatriot and UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The 21-year old Flyweight from Dagestan, Russia was asked about his thoughts about comparisons with the former UFC Lightweight Champion Nurmagomedov.
Mokaev is coming off a unanimous decision victory at UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Aspinall over Charles Johnson.
The Russian who now lives in the United Kingdom is considered to be one of the most exciting young prospects in the sport with massive title potential.

Khabib was injured for 3 years and wasn't pushed by the promotion.
I think the weight class will be a big factor too. Much easier to get a title shot at Flyweight. It took Khabib 10 wins in the UFC to finally win the title.
If your devision don't have drama queens like during Khabib time or injury, you might. If God willing
Plus Flyweight has much less top talent already in line for a title shot. A few impressive wins and you could get fast tracked to a big fight.

I think he has a great chance! We'll see how long he can stay at Flyweight because there is a lot more competition at Bantamweight.
It is not relevant, because anytime Khabib fought he would have got the belt...just that the ufc was not promoting him until he gave them no choice....What all these young and upcoming fighters from Dagestan need to realise is that Khabib layed the foundation for them and put Dagestan on the map.
Yeah my boy u speaking my mind khabib pave the way for these fighters and they don't wanna talk about it 🤣🤣🤣

i think so too. allegedly mokaev's father went to UK seeking asylum due to "persecution" in dagestan. i don't know but this may have a play in his view about khabib & co.

He probably can…but how are you gonna be from the fight capital of the world and diminish the work of your hometown legend? Ngl sometimes it seems as if Mokaev doesn’t truly respect Khabib as a sport icon who has transcended MMA, and constantly tries to show that he is better and different-maybe bc he didn’t grow up in Dagestan but it’s still surprising and lowkey disrespectful. I get that it must be frustrating to be constantly compared to Khabib, but so are Khabib’s own cousins and childhood friends and they ALL give much classier responses to that (and these are all ppl who really do have the potential to be bigger then Khabib-but they stay in their lane and let their work do the talking)
Khabib was #1 contender for like 3 years before he got his title shot lol. I don't think getting the belt faster than him is such an impressive goal. I think he'd rather mean that he wants his title at a younger age than Jon Jones got his title.
Bro khabib has to work all the hard way through by having 9-10 winning streaks in ufc when even he has already undefeated winning streaks before ufc🤷🏻♂️. Also he was injured for 3 whole years and have multiple surgeries of ribs ,knee ,back, etc 🤦🏻.
So ya if you don't have that and i pray for you that you don't have that, because its not funny its really fatal & brutal for anyone's sports career, especially "fighting".
Mokaev is not experienced i think there's many holes in his game that top fighters will use specially in his stacked division
He's still very young. Same with that 17-year old from Dana White Contender's Series. I think there is not point to rush trying to win a title when you are so young. Just develop your skills consistently and you will get there in due time.
why zabit or other fighters from dagestan dont get earlier title fight even they deserve, its common in UFC.. so i hope u will not face same situation...
Big mouth should bother about his game. Khabib was two years out of because of hand and knee injury.
Khabib get injured and get rob his title shot, so its not quite brilliant to compared with Khabib..Of course this kid can get the belt faster, but pray for no injuries or your division gatekeeper or topfighter who probably will ducking and delay your chance..
Injuries can always change everything.
Injuries, being ducked and title shot delayed by promotion company.
