I can only think that some work - and some brands don’t. I wouldn’t write them all off. We purchased the Bezan ones, and since we’ve had no more rodents, or even insects -literally none! Even Moths disappeared! We couldn’t believe it! Your Video did remind us though that we purchased some cheaper ones (a different brand) some years ago - and like yours, they did not work... Obviously, the less you pay, I would have thought the less likely they would work. The Bezan ones we purchases weren’t the cheapest. They came in a pack of four which e have plugged in each room. I suspect one wouldn't be enough to work anyways.

Especially seems to work well on roaches. These devices are NOT powerful enough to repel rodents. If you have mice, rats, squirrels, etc., you need to find out how they're getting into your home and close up those holes with metallic materials like hardware cloth, metal screening, sheet metal, etc. Good luck!
to be fair, the reason you have no signal frequency being detected in your sensor is because of 2 main reasons. 1, the ultrasonic frequency emitted by the machine is to low, or your machine sensors isn't sensitive enough to detect the hrtz ultrasonic low range. And second, by plugin the the electrode clamps directly in the plate of the ultrasonic, the vibrational pressure waves are decipating and being dampened at the same time. The ultrasonic wave is in no doubt very low. good video and thank you for demonstrating that this is still a bad wasteful product to buy.
I don’t mean this to be condescending but rather educational. The term ultrasonic by definition means above normal human hearing perception. That being the case the frequency is not to low to detect. Normal human hearing frequency is between 30-18k hertz. The Fluke 87 is an industry standard professional level general purpose meter more than capable of making the measurements required to evaluate this device. The data sheet lists its frequency measurement as .5Hz to 199kHz with an accuracy of .005% + 1 and AC voltage range of .1mV to 1000V with an accuracy of .7% + 4 of rms and resolution of .1mV. Also, its input impedance is 10 million ohms. For this application that’s high enough to make any deviations due to its measurement statistically insignificant. I’m no Fluke salesman but you absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
If you buy the right product, they can work. I got a JML one that sends the sound down your house wiring and it completely ridded our house of a bad cellar beetle infestation. It has also consistently decimated the spider population in our home. Not so sure about the mice - we had them last year and I got rid of all four, now they are back in our kitchen. I strongly suspect they work better on bugs than mice.

Tavon Brown those company on amazon pay people to write good reviews, your best bet at finding the truth about a product is checking the 2-3 star reviews.
So the device doesn't work because it literally doesn't work, i.e. it is not producing any sound, but is this enough to conclude that ultrasonic sounds don't repel pests? That is, if it was actually producing sound, would it work?
Then you don't know about PWM concept. Voltmeter only recognizes a constant voltage difference and the duration of the pulse needs to be larger that the sampling rate of your voltmeter. Your test is not proving anything.
The problem is that these devises do work if you by them in a reputable place. There are millions of copies out on the market, and they do only blink and use power. In the end, people don't trust any one of them!

were you able to improve on it by increasing the voltage or create a better version of your own that worked ?
