Like cleaning the floors, desks and chairs, windows and chalkboards?
I cant say every school is the same but the majority of schools in Japan are cleaned by Japanese students, it teaches cleanliness and a vital life skill. They call it O-Soji 「大掃除」

Her name is Haruna Kondo (近藤春菜), and yes she is a comedian. Actually the one in the white dress is her partner Haruka Minowa (箕輪はるか). The two form a comedian group name Harisebon (ハリセンボン), which mean balloonfish
