Netley Marsh Steam Rally 2023

The 2023 Netley Marsh Steam and Craft Show is Hampshire's Biggest Steam Show taking place over 3 days just inside the new forest. In this video we take a look at the Traction Engines, Steam Rollers and Steam Wagons at the show also a look at the Miniature Steam Engines.
Sadly the President of Netley Marsh Don Cully passed away the night before I visited the show and the whistle up was in memory of his passion for the steam and heritage movement. The engine at the front of the Whistle Up used to be owned by Don and was put there in his memory, the local church put on a lovely small service in memory.
We then take a look at a Steam Roller which got stuck in the mud trying to get into the arena it had to be pulled out by another Steam Roller. Then we move on to the Road Making display using a Traction Engine to power a Rock Crusher to crush bricks to be for building roads in the past. The Log Sawing Display had a variety of Saw Benches from large ones powered by Steam Engines like Traction Engines and Portable Engines to smaller ones powered by Stationary Engines like Lister and Petter Engines. After we take a look at the Vintage Heavy Equipment display where they were using Diggers, Excavators and Bulldozers to move mud and show how they were intended on being used. We then look inside the Model Tent which had different types of Models in such as Meccano, Model Ships, Model Vehicles, Live Steam Models and dioramas. Finally we finish with the line up of Stationary Engines at the show.
