It's older & younger than you at the same time!
I have read that carmine was commonly used for staining slides in the 19th century. E.g. Virchow used it almost exclusively for his preparations.

A very good and interesting microscope slide specimen; very well prepared to last.
The 18 number on the label, could be an index number to an entry in a slide journal, providing more detailed information about the slide; but, I suppose that record is long since lost or misplaced....

Very interesting video, I’ve never seen such a stain, very interesting to see the ducts of those sweat glands it’s usually hidden by all the cells around it. And about the structure on the left, what about bone ? Round chondrocytes on the left and columnar chondrocytes on the right end of the structure ? I know it doesn’t look like usual bone but it might be the coloration used. Anyway thanks for the great video :)
