I'm a runner and a fighter, so out of all the characters in this edit, he's the most relatable. The way that, even though Tanjiro trains his ass off for years without end to kill these demons, and though he's terribly out matched by these upper moons and barely survives these encounters, he still gives it his all without a second thought. He still trains with a smile on his face, with gratitude for the world, despite how terribly humbled he is by these demons. I know it's a silly anime at the end of the day but fuck if that ain't the most motivational shit in the world watching him train and watching him fight some demons.

If he actually defeated the monster it would be a way less powerful moment imo, and it would go against his character. As he said, it's not about winning or losing, it's about what he has to do. He knows damn well that he's going to die, but he still tries. It's easy to get hyped for a character that you know is going to win because he's going to unlock some kind of power just so he doesn't lose, and Rider isn't that kind of character. He gets beat up, loses badly, lets down the people that he was trying to protect. But all of that doesn't matter, because he stood up and tried. He did his best, and that's something to always be proud of.
