Your priorities are spot on brother! Your exactly right about your reasoning to race or not. Praying for things to get better for you and us all, good luck with the upcoming season!
I understand how you feel, especially on the cost of things. Even we don’t run LM just expenses can add up. Our noses for our cars went up, $80, the aluminum sheets like you said, however I do have 90% of the sheet metal here, just bought it last summer at a scratch and dent sale, plus a sell out. The best thing about our class is the tire rule, retreads are still inexpensive and we can run them for a long time. That’s why we’re traveling local, we have 11 races we can run with a 2 hour drive for 1k to win minimum. Our local track that we won the track championship only pays $400 to win weekly. So that’s how we intend to cope
It doesn’t matter what it is if it has race car in the title it’s expensive! Yes always looking for sales like that we actually just bought two noses for $150 that look almost new compared to a brand new nose for $600
You all are the number one family race team on dirt. Keep your heads up good things come to good people. We have to keep believing that. Everything will work out you all take care and stay safe.
You have to do what you have to do. I wish the best for you guys, racing is so expensive. Year ago good started making dirt tires. They were in computation wiith Hosier, tire wre around 40 bucks. Y'all be safe and I support the way that your taking care of family first and racing do the line.
That was the only race I've seen of the ice bowl.thanks for the videos. I hate it went the way it did. I know racing is expensive . I understand priorities come first. Everything so high right now. Maybe everything get straightened out prices come down.
Guys this is one of the best videos I've seen in a while from anybody that does dirt track racing UA-cam videos and you all are more down to earth and truthful about your stuff than anybody else on here and I'm glad to see someone has stepped up and decided enough is enough with this BS that is hitting everyone in the wallet, such as tires and wheels plus much more and it's happening to our regular vehicles we drive every day also.... Until the old and foolish senile leadership in DC is voted out, we're all screwed in more ways than one!!! I hope you guys can keep racing and get some good sponsorship to help you out and I still say Brad's one of the best drivers around anywhere in the country in a Late Model
I fully agree with you. I really enjoy this channel, and if you like this grassroots stuff check out late model garage. I also grew up in grassroots racing from street stocks to steelhead late models in East TN, never had any sponsorship just hard work and overtime. I used to like hunt the front especially since I'm a Christian and I liked their message, I have not liked that channel in a long time, the money and sponsorship and multiple cars and 75k haulers has really went to their heads. And I don't like to intrude into other people's business but I don't even see that guys son in his videos anymore. The joiners went from grassroots 9 to 5 Joe family men to big headed real fast, that's a problem I've seen in alot of drivers I've personally known that went over the hobby line into almost full time dirt track they got very unenjoyable to talk to or be around. I can see how it happens I mean dirt track racing is like the best sport on Earth but Id rather watch a down to earth grassroots racer over a sponsored up pro any day I know also of people would disagree but that's alright everyone has a different opinion.
Totally agree! In South GA a tire is $225 and sheet metal is $145. I 100% pay for all my stuff. Hope to see y'all race in the future, come down to Golden Isles and watch super bowl of racing in two weeks
Love to see grassroots racing at its finest!....Brings back great memories of my childhood, through my teen years, to my 17 BIRTHDAY When my uncle suprised me by building my first racecar...a 73 Nova street stock...won 4 features my first year..and rookie of the Year honors...We ran 3 classes of cars three tracks a week back in Maine during the summer....
Thanks for the video, I understand why you are doing what you are doing, I don’t blame you guys one bit. Unless you have a big Sponsor to cover most of your costs, it gets too expensive to race. Hang in there and I hope you get the car back together soon and race when you can. I enjoy your channel and hope to see you soon. Good luck!!
Wake up!!! It's not going to get "better". Things are going to get so bad there will be people killing people for a mouth full of food. Read your Bible and it will tell you everything that will come in the near future.
I agree Brad we run sport mod and are tire are 157 + shipping bc are dealer cant get them. On back order. I'm afraid to say racing is going to be a rich man sport. And all the budget racers will not be a regular at local tracks. In the end we all will be stuck at home just looking at are cars. Wishing we could go racing. This will be a sad yr for a lot of racers.
Hate y’all had crumby luck. Glad at least y’all hadn’t put a new body on yet. How much does uppers and Lowers cost ? Hopefully y’all will bounce back stronger.
Our owner is in the same situation, price of tires, price of fuel, price of sheet metal, plus the money for fuel in the hauler, looking at over a thousand just to go racing ever week, it bullshit for the local racer, we race UMP late model hope we still can.
Yup lots of folks getting priced out used to be a man could run (a street stock) for 199 a week(if he didn't wreck(to bad) now to be competitive we need a set of tires every 2 weeks (at90 a tire) AND have to run overpriced "spec" shocks The payout to win was the same but costs have trippled
We tried American Racers cause they were cheaper , but cheaper equals slower . So we have to stick with Hoosier . Totally understand, I think all of us are dealing with this .
I agree with your thinking Brad. The local racer this year will not be able to race every week with price of tires and fuel and the payout will not cover those things. I think this is going to hurt tracks like Talladega that race every weekend cause a weekly racer will not be able to race when the tires will not last but one race.
I live in NE Wyoming now and several events at our local raceway got cancelled cause drivers weren't willing or able to drive from Minnesota, Montana and all over to race here..
No matter, You will do what needs to be done for your family, it is totally understood, I would be thinking the same thing to be honest. We will still be here on the channel caue you are just good People

Yea, I can see the wisdom in not paying 200.00 for tires. Plus I again racing a limited schedule (when you are able) with the cost of tires, fuel, and spare parts. Is a good move on your part, because it really takes having someone to sponsor you and cover the cost of tires to even attempt to do much more than when you are able to go racing...
@@daysofdirtwithbradberryracing You are exactly right; which is why I have always pointed out that the more a person can do on their own. From fabrication, to doing as much of the engine work as possible. Whatever it takes to keep the cost down, or at least within reason.
