My God, as I lay in bed at 67, remembering this absolute legend, and song, I relies how blessed I am to be alive at this particular moment in time. It’s not going to get any better than this.
Same, at 69. ✌🏼

Pretty cool that in all the places and times we could've existed, we get to here this song.
It's 4.24.24 at 2 am from West Virginia and Elton John is one of the greatest ever. I have seen him concert 9 time's and each concert was awesome. He definitely is a great performer. Hoping his health gets better from a nasty fall in his home. A great icon...
yes love Elton's song's, snap,
Perhaps the greatest song ever recorded.
Perhaps not. Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding is much better.
Daniel.🤘😞👌

You know you’re a true recording artist when your music touches the soul of another human being
So true! Our beloved late mom loved this song!!!😢😢😢❤❤❤
This beautiful man saved my life. My regret is I couldn't be there to support him.. I was gifted Goodbye Yellow Brick Road by my sister who loved me more than I loved myself. I was doubly blessed to have both Elton and Eva in my life. I lost my sister to breast cancer and I am currently a CNA. Love is an amazing healer and I know what I'm doing. Thank you Reg and Bernie!
I believe that somewhere in the world, there are people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to masterpieces like this song.
I can't tell u about the future but I think I think 😊
So true
My absolute favorite Elton John song
Beautiful song. May Jesus and Mother Mary save your life . You're not sleeping alone only Jesus can take your life. I pray you know soon who is king
Elton is a legend. One of the best videos I've ever seen. One of the best songs ever written. God I love him.
thank you for pointing this out, it's not just me, "one of the best songs ever written" I'm not just thinking personal effect, but many objective metrics, it just blows my mind like magic. The wiki page says that there was a man that pushed Elton on his vocals here, so he's to be thanked as well, because it's a whole character in this. This song is like a book.
Thank you Bernie for beautiful lyrics and Elton for the melody. A masterpiece!!!!!
Bernie helped Elton write this song.
This is ELTON JOHN at his best... This song is so damn good.
the drumming is great too
I totally agree
1975 proved to be a great year to cap his creative musical genius
Agree with other comments. There will never be anybody close to Elton John. Timeless talent!
Damn, you Brits gave the world some of the very best music…….. thank you 😊
Nigels drumming is pure genius
Best male singer/artist of all time
We are so blessed Elton never died from any overdoses or diseases. It's a divine miracle. Look at all the beautiful catalog of music he & Bernie gave us. Soundtracks of lifetimes.
I love this song. I am 48 and planned my funeral at a young age since 30. This is a song I love. So rather gay or not, I love this man voice, I love his overall. Every time I hear this song makes me cry. I remember an old friend of mine, I was about to cross the street, light was green, but a big old greyhound bus ran that red light and she grabbed me, saved my life, her name was Jacqueline Brown, black woman, she saved me. And by the way, when I was growing up, my mother played Elton John while we had to clean up during summer months. This song has meaning. Nobody is perfect, but Elton John , I love him faraway, never met the man, but his music is good to me and my soul, I put that on everything. ❤
You know you’re a true artist when your talent gets the soul of another human being😢😮
Everything this man sings is pure gold. My mom played his CD so much in the car, it broke. Lol Thanks Mom for getting me into great music!
The words are Bernie's. And Elton adds brilliantly to the feelings that were already there.
We hardly hear anything about Bernie, but I listen to him through these songs, his experiences and struggles, he really was just as important in this career as Elton himself.
The end of a bad relationship left me very depressed. I mean clinically depressed. I felt numb for a year, and just felt down after that passed. This song helped me to come out of that depression. Music can effect people on that level.
Great music

I know that pain glad to have you back 🙏🏽💜
Is your "music" still alive?
Elton would be happy to know that......
I saw Elton live in 1974 Portland OR. He sat down at the piano at 8pm sharp and finished at 11:40pm (w a short break). Being the only act on the bill, it was advertised as 'An Evening with Elton John'. He was the biggest Rock/Pop act in the world. As you might guess, it was incredible. It seemed like he played every great song he wrote (w Bernie). A super far out evening indeed !
Wow! What a memory.
The good ol' days
I didn’t see him til 1986-backstage-and of course I have a big mouth and yelled there he is! And he said shut the door lol but Bernie was pleasant. And I met 2 New York Metswho went on to win the World Series Ray Knight and Gary Carter!! It was the best concert I had ever seen and we had excellent seats!
@@lorrainerutherford2399 sounds great
Also working in radio helped!!!
This is one of the best songs 🎵 ever!! Its incredible elton john can look at words written and turn them into a song like this!! ❤️
I Personally feel Elton is one of the most gifted person of our age. Beautiful human. Thank you Sir Elton for giving to us for decades.
Actually from Mark Douglas, Rebekah’s dad!
If you were young in the 1970s you will remember that he was the biggest entertainer in the world. In 1975 he had two albums in a row enter the US charts at number 1. No other artist in history has done that
There is Elton John and then there is…………every one else PERIOD!

@@joanx9722 Always does something to me. Sings it with such feeling.
Thank you music for saving my life❤🎶🎵 Thanks Elton and Bernie for this song
A song and a musician who connects deeply with 3 generations : boomers , gen X and millennials
To me he seems almost underrated. People today still talk about the Beatles, Stones, Michael Jackson , Prince, Madonna and so on. Don't seem to hear as much about Elton John these days.
Lucy in the sky with diamonds originally a Beatles song , Eltons version is by far the best. I remember him on soul train , singing benie and the jets, in a pimp hat, yeah he was that cool
And he steals the scene in Tommy. Pinball wizard his is best
Nah man, Elton John is life 🔥💪
All that you mentioned are played out or disappeared, Elton John is still standing and relevant. No my friend Elton John is simply an established fact.
# Love Elton John@!!!
What a great song. It's never included when his hits are mentioned but it's better than most of them. Brilliant.
Do a search on his all time hits, critics got this on top.
I consider this Elton's best song, absolutely beautiful masterpiece for 50 years
Tell me your top ten!

I was a major Beatle fan..Big time. But I loved Elton's music too. Now I am 75 yrs old and I never listen to any Beatle Songs. Today not a day goes by without an Elton song in it. Often times I sing myself to sleep singing "Your Song" The best words in any song is " How wonderfull life is while you're in the world". What a loving thing to say to another person. Elton's music will outlive many others.
I don't know,I bet they'll shoot down the plain is pretty fun powerfully too?
Like ove said so much, thank you Bernie ,it would have all just been instrumental if he didn't exist and I'll bet none of us would have been listening to that station much growing up!lol?
Totally agree ❤
Look at his humility as he invites the woman on to the stage after she rushes him. The guy is a gentle rock star god
Nice video celebrating a man who put much joy in millions of lives and for that Sir Elton John your ALRIGHT!!
I was honored to see him preform in MSG, NY in 1974 and 2019!! Thank you for your amazing music!!
In about 1977, a tall thin kid sat bent over a standup piano in the back dining room of a summer camp in Littleton, N.H., playing and belting this tour de force out with all the passion Elton could have ever intended. Other kids crammed themselves into that tiny room just to be close to him as he poured it out all over the valley. It was magical.
Only one Like to give...
A truly gifted musician. Some people are born to enlighten the rest of us.Elton falls into this category.
Elton John’s genius shines though on every song he sings
Gotta give due credit to Bernie Taupin
This man ruled the airwaves in the 70s when I was growing up, what an amazing talent! So many fantastic songs!!!!! Hard to pick which one, this, or Funeral for a Friend, Tiny Dancer, Rocket Man, just too damn many to pick from, he's a musical genius!❤️👍‼️
So talented! I will forever love Elton!
I have seen almost 1000 concerts. Seeing Elton just by himself (no band with him) in the mid 90's in Portland, Oregon was one of the top 3 shows ever. 20,000 fans just mesmerized. If ever there was an angelic voice, I would like to hear as I drift off to heaven it would be Eltons.
Yes, I saw Elton in 1993. Half the show solo, and for the second half he was joined by percussionist Ray Cooper, who was fantastic. Elton opened with "Your Song," just him and his piano, and I just remember it was pure ear candy to hear! His piano sounded so wonderful as it began to be amplified through the pavilion's sound system.
That Portland show was amazing. My buddy bught 2 front row seats and invited me. I can only look back now and think of how lucky I was to see that show. In the middle of the show, Elton stopped and came to the front of the stage and grabbed the Goodbye yellow brick record my buddy was holding and autographed it. Insane moment forever etched in my brain.

I saw him in 85. Best concert I've ever been to. And I've been to a lot.
What were the other two?
Out of all his songs, this is my favorite.
"Damn It, Listen to me Good"
One of the best songs ever written! Absolutely timeless.....❤️❤️❤️
I remember listening to Elton for the 1st time my freshman year in my girlfriends basement.
We were holding hands playing Mr.John's music in 1975 that she introduced me to .I had at that time no idea how great a talent he was . Years later I saw him live twice and it hit me, in a word " amazing " the talent Elton has is beyond words and this is my favorite song with many others being a close second
This song, "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word", and pretty much the entire "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" double LP are my favorites of his.
Still haven't seen one comment mentioning Bernie, the first lyrics he wrote for Elton was to your song,he was seventeen at the time and Elton said he can remember how it effected him thinking no way is this kid seventeen with this kind of insight on love and life!he knew them they were meant to be!
That is a great song of elton john's then also, No sacrifice , Also , Sad songs , Don't go break in my heart, We'll, I actually 💝❤️,all of his songs.!!!!
I grew up listening to Elton John. He is so amazing! I love this song so much!
Love Elton. He gifted.
I truly love Elton. All of his music is just brilliantly written from word to word.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This song reconnects me with my teen years, namely age 14. Lost my virginity to a 17 yr old girl. My 1st love. Yea...she broke my heart. 💔. Thanks for the memories, Elton. 💖

Only saw him once. It was at the free concert he gave in Central Park in 1980. Just an awesome performer and great showman. One of the best concerts I've ever seen.

One of My favorite Elton hits, & for Us loyal fans... IT'S HARD TO PICK ONE!!! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜✌️
Powerful Song, on so many levels….
❤ Elton John is definitely a legend.❤
Have had the good fortune to see Elton in concert five times.. As always BRILLIANT!
The song that literally saved my life. Love him and his music more than life itself.❤
Still glad to have this legendary musician with us today. Very few are left from his era..
I had the wonderful opportunity to see this great artist at Madison Square Garden in concert in the early 70s and he did not disappoint.
It’s such a treat listening to Elton John’s song’s, especially after not hearing them for some 30 years, but all the good memories came flooding back the min I heard the first song of his, and then another, and another, and believe me, you can’t stop at just one…
Strangely enuf, I’m enjoying his songs & music more now than I did in my youth, especially the one’s he personally wrote bcuz the lyrics are timeless, comforting, humorous, sad, loving, charming, happy, and celebratory bcuz he communicates to his fans they’re not alone, and we’re all in this together…
🎤🎧Elton John’s songs, and music is entertainment that’s as
good as it gets!!! 🎹
❤️Thank you Sir John for givin’
it your all!❤️
YOU’RE THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!
❤️Love Always!❤️

Awesome song, a beautiful, brilliant tribute to one of the greatest singer songwriters of his time and of ALL time!👍❤
The first time I heard Erin’s music I was in junior high and my eldest brother brought home Madman Across the Water. I wore his record out. After that, I’d save my allowance so I could buy every album as it came out. Now he’s Sir Elton John and a legend. So many great albums and so little time. Thanks to Elton for being the soundtrack to many great memories of my life.
Madman Across The Water!!
Listened once and I was hooked on Elton...
One of Eltons best!
The BEST. ❤️
Love the harmonies. The outro is so awesome.
That round is perfect, I love it.
Definitely a master of the most incredible music in my life...
Saw him in St.Louis in 1971. Could sing along with every song. Bought every album he put out up through Yellow Brick Road. After that my taste of music parted ways from his. Every once in a while he go back to the old original song style, I think to let us old hippies that he knew where he came from. How many of you know the music sound track for the movie " Friends " ? 1971.
One of the best songs! Timeless!! Great video by the way! ❤

This was the year I left school. Just the best memories of going into the big wild world of work and life. Feel privileged to have heard all these classics when they were new. Still enduring.
He's amazing and brilliant
I quite enjoyed the montage of different performances.
He has influenced many musicians, and is a genius. I'm so glad I was a teenager when Goodbye Yellow Brick Road came out.
Elton John is not underrated he a great musician and I have alot of respect for him he earned everything he ever has done I just wish I could afford his concerts so listening to his music is a great pleasure to me I really thing he is a genius there will never be another like him a great icon
Management . He commands two million a show , so divide that into the seating capacity ....Like a few other artist I've seen wish to see .
Save your money. Elton can't sing anymore. But he still loves the money fools throw at him. Paul McCartney is the same way.
