- Hi, I’m Miriam Cates. Since 2019, I’ve been the Member of Parliament for Penistone and Stocksbridge.
Over the last four and a half years it has been a privilege to stand up for you here in Parliament, to make your voice heard on a whole range of issues, whether that’s supporting the steel industry, campaigning to keeping our children safe, or lobbying the government for better transport, better jobs, more investment.
And we’re making great progress on a number of local projects, delivering the town deal in Stocksbridge, improving the rail network around Penistone and a whole range of local campaigns across our wonderful towns and villages.
On 4th July we will have a general election, and in Penistone and Stocksbridge you have a choice. You can choose a Labour candidate to be your representative or you can vote for me, Miriam Cates, to continue to speak up for you boldly and courageously, and to continue with the great work we’re doing locally.

Sorry, Miriam, but at a General Election people vote for a party and a leader, not a local MP. You’ve done a great job and it will be sad to see you go. The Tories are a busted flush.
I won’t be voting just to try to keep Starmer out - I’ll be voting for what I want. I’ll be voting Reform UK.

You are without a doubt the best MP in the country, I wish I could vote for you, sadly it will be Sally-Anne Hart for me, she's still a great MP though.

Your having a laugh after the mockery of the last 4 years under the tories, what a joke.
You are an appalling constituency MP Miriam. I know a few people who sought your help on local matters and they all said that you were enthusiastic to give help to start with then quickly lost interest. You spent far too much time concerned with whacky ideas and I suspect you would be more at home with Farage in Reform.
I don’t know a single person in this constituency who plans to vote for you and will be out on your ear on July 5th.
