- Simone de Beauvoir in a 1959 interview with Wilfrid Lemoyne from Radio-Canada. The translation is my own. I also improved the quality a bit. Note, this is a version of an upload from the previous channel.

She spoke with such intelligence, sharpness and confidence. What a woman.
She's even considerate and elegant enough to find a "common ground" manner of speech when she noticed that the interviewer, Wilfrid Lemoyne (1927-2003), wasn't quite keeping up with her very elite Parisian mannerisms.
Of course, with all due respect to him, he was also expressing himself as her worth French-Canadian counterpart, in terms of language.
Lemoyne, like her, also studied at the Sorbonne, but he was a full 19 years her junior.
She is elegant rapist and giving sex on her students
I wouldn’t admire the person given her sexual abusiveness, however her thought is absolutely indispensable
@@punchgodkeep in mind they might have been lies. The masses tend to easily plant rumours, that eventually grow into truths. This isn't necessarily the case... But I would judge her solely on what is proven to be truly hers. Aka her words.
@@infjelphabasupporter8416because people don't ever use their words to lie, right?
Simone de Beauvoir and Simone Weil... I will never get enough of their works. True inspirations.
You have to dig bc you are brain washed she is a rapist sexually assaulted her own students and prohibited from teaching in all France territory what kind of people supporting this monster she advocate sex with kids any sex she is evil worst then pigs
what a great interviewer. He asks all the right questions and she's not stumped. Fascinating coming from over 60 years back in time and yet a relevant conversation in every way
i thnk he asks blur and inrevelent most of them
Oh madame De Beauvoir si vous saviez comme les choses n'ont pas changées! Wow quelle entrevue! Thanks for uploading and sharing!
What has not changed?
Excellent
One should always start a video with Satie's - Avant Dernières Pensées.
what an icon!!!!!!
Very impressive
I looked for a book on Simone de Beauvoir in the Philosophy section in a bookstore and the cover read like a New Age self-help book: don't think of the future or the past but grasp your existence as it is now... blah, blah, blah. She is just one in the long line of Modern philosophers who turned their back on metaphysics and hence became boring, hack self-help gurus and fuzzy unclear social critics. I loved her first memoir though. Her literature is great.
Yes! address the problem of human existence, by all means
de Boudoir. she’s a tough cookie. Cute when she’s mad 😅
the man wants so much for her to say the word "comunism", oh lord...
Thank God there's stupid people like him to remind everyone in those years wasn't a incredibly well spoken genius and that's it's only the ones we remember
In 1959, Maurice Duplessis prime minister of Quebec was extremely anti-communist and pro-catholic. The interviewer is a product of his own society, hence the interest in political question and god.
When I saw the thumbnail for this I thought, "My word, Elon Musk looks terrible!" Very odd resemblance.
In what precise way is existentialism reminiscent of communism?
Witch burning had it's use.
Pauvre Simone!
Glad to live on this side of the Atlantic.
The typical left phrases...
18 years after this interview she would sign this petition to the French government lmao
