the sides are my favorite part. I love how the clear looks poking through the black. I haven't played in a long time but.this was one of my favorite games as a kid. when I first got married I moved to North Africa and my husband asked me to play a game with him. Imagine my surprise when he pulled out this game😂 Brought back so many memories
KUDOS TO YOU for having the courage to put the hardware on, by yourself, on camera with no cuts! That brought you up in my estimation a bunch. Great job on the beautiful boards and the cute little beads. Great video.
Lovely board! Really elegant design all over! If only you had gold hardware for it, but it's still an accomplishment! Love how your design ended up matching from one side to the other! I don't know how to play, but probably would have enjoyed it! Thanks for showing us the build process along with it! Much appreciated!
I’m glad you did the part on the hinges. It shows how frustrating the whole thing is. My dad taught me to use tape to hold the hinges in place til you can get the screws in. You did a great job!!!!
I have never seen, nor heard, of this game. Don’t anybody ask me where I’ve been, I have no clue! I’ll be back though! 😮 I’ve got to check it out now. Your design is beautiful to look at, since that’s all I’d be able to do anyway! It was fun to watch. I’ve had “a day” and this made me feel better. Thank you. Later, y
This is cute! I have a few tricks. I haven’t made a mancala board specifically, but I’ve worked a lot with hinges. I use uv resin to tack the hinges in place, then I drill the holes and screw them in. When you put the other side up to it to attach the other side of the hinge, try using some painter’s tape to hold it together. 😊
Thanks so much SamIam! It's funny you said that because just today, I was trying to think if I knew any men that played this game. I can only think of girls! haha
I haven't played Mancala in so long! The board turned out great, especially with the unintentional matching between the sides. You can't go wrong with black, white, and gold foil! The colors of the pieces are really pretty, and for some reason make me thing of gummy candies.
I appreciate your video so much! I made my first resin mancala board to sell and had no idea how to do the screwing so watching your video REALLY helped me out a lot! thank you so much
Oh man Wizard that would have been perfect! The white definitely pops and I like that for the colors for the game pieces, but for the board alone, cream would have been beautiful! Thank you!! ❤️
I love Mancala, I have an old board from when I was a kid, me and my sister would play for hours as kids! This turned out gorgeous! I think making the 'seeds' solid gold would look lovely with this board but the bright colors look great too!
These are a pretty standard jewelry box hinge which you can buy in gold, silver, and bronze, so you can match your hardware to the colors of the board.
I always dip my screw end in a little resin before screwing into position. Then leave in position before opening /closing the hinge etc. it creates a long lasting solid hold.
Hinges get screwed on with the two boards closed on top of each other so, you don’t see the hinges when the game is open. Nice looking board by the way.
Not familiar with this game, I’ll check it out as you suggested. The game board and pieces turned very. The game board design is especially amazing. Thanks for sharing enjoy your trip. ❤
I was in a panic watching you decide how to put the hinges on 😂 I was typing as fast as I could, hoping you didn't put them on top. It turned out too beautiful to have the ugly hinges showing 😊
Hahah!! Thank you!! Yeah, when I first put them on top I was thinking how easy it would be to attach! But..it definitely wasn't the look I was going for! lol. Thank-you so much for watching and for your comment. 😀
I made this board a few months ago but still haven't tried attaching the hinges...lol. I wonder if attaching the hinges with uv resin to hold them in place while you drill would help? ❤
Hi Molly, Yes, I do reuse my mixing cups. The clear cups are nice because I just use a spatula to get it out before it cures, and then I let it dry / cure. If I'm using a pigment or glitter I will often use a cut off water bottle or paper cup and then toss it. Thank you for watching! ❤️
I have a question about the resin you use. I use the same brand and I see people using that bubble remover machine. thought about getting one but I really don't have a problem with bubbles. what is you feedback on that?
Hi Marie, I'm sorry for the delay in my reply! You know, that's one of the things that I like about JDICTION resin.. the work time is long and bubbles really aren't a big issue. I bought the bubble machine but haven't used it yet. I think I'll try it soon to experiment. I've read mixed reviews. I think i'd prefer a pressure pot 🤔
This is beautiful. There should be a latching mechanism to keep it closed. That would be a nice feature.
I agree Kim. I might borrow one from the treasure chest mold I have. 🤔 Thank you!
Love it! I could imagine doing it in an ocean theme and putting a tiny fish in the cabachons.
That's a great idea!! Thank you for your suggestion and for watching! ❤️

Thank you! I love the translucency of the sides too. :) That's so fun that your husband brought mancala out to play!! ❤️
KUDOS TO YOU for having the courage to put the hardware on, by yourself, on camera with no cuts! That brought you up in my estimation a bunch. Great job on the beautiful boards and the cute little beads. Great video.
Thank you so much Virginia! I was happy it actually folded up after all of that! haha. Thank you for watching! ❤️
TA-DA! Good job. I'll have to watch a video on how to play. Santa gets our family one game every christmas, so... perfect!
Thank you Debra! I always did that too.. when my older kids were young. So fun!! ❤️
Wow Barbara absolutely gorgeous. Looks like a fun game. I have never heard of this game. Have a wonderful funtastic vacation. Stay safe ❤
Thanks so much Dale! It's really fun! Kind of relaxing for me! haha ❤️. Take good care over there!

Thank you! Tape would have been helpful! 😃 Others have mentioned UV resin.. either would have saved a bit of time! haha. ❤️
Love the Black, Gold and White.. I do not know this game...❤😊
Thank you! It's a fun 2 player game. :)
I have never seen, nor heard, of this game. Don’t anybody ask me where I’ve been, I have no clue! I’ll be back though! 😮

Really nice looking! A nice gift for a man maybe, it’s very classy like you said.
Good job Girl!!

Thank you Erin! They do look like gummy candies! haha 😄
Turned out fabulous never heard of game mancala sounds interesting 🤗🤗🤗
Thanks Mary! It's fun and simple. :)
WhAt a beautiful board. I love it! Thanks for the tutorial.

It is truly magical feeling.
Thank you so much Jancie! 💓
I appreciate your video so much! I made my first resin mancala board to sell and had no idea how to do the screwing so watching your video REALLY helped me out a lot! thank you so much
I'm so glad! Thank you so much for watching. ❤️
It turned out beautiful. Ive never even heard of the game before. Ill be looking it up to see how to play cause you have me curious now.😊❤
Thank You Debra! ☺️
Pretty! A light cream instead of white would’ve looked nice, too
Oh man Wizard that would have been perfect! The white definitely pops and I like that for the colors for the game pieces, but for the board alone, cream would have been beautiful! Thank you!! ❤️
I would use UV resin to put the boards together. Then if you still want screws you can put them in. I love how that turned out!
That's a great idea! Thank you Ownsacat! ❤️
This game looks so nice! I used to play, however it’s been so long I don’t remember how to play 😂
Thanks Emily! ❤️ I had to do a refresher course too! hahaha.
@@resinnut9335 that’s how it is when you don’t do something for a long time 😂
I love Mancala, I have an old board from when I was a kid, me and my sister would play for hours as kids! This turned out gorgeous! I think making the 'seeds' solid gold would look lovely with this board but the bright colors look great too!
Thanks so much Sharauni! 😊 That is a really good idea. I hadn't thought of that, I think I'll make up more! ❤️
That came out beautifully, I love it and think I need to get that mould too as I love this game. ♥♥
Thank-you Coyote! it's a great mold.. let me know if you end up making it! ❤️
You did an amazing job ❤
Thank you so much! 💓
So pretty 🤩
Thank you Donna! 😊

Thanks so much Maddie!! ❤️
Lol I came to your page to see about the screws as well. It's hard!! Lol
Right??? hahaha It's worth it in the end! ❤️
Oh i have this mold and have yet to make it. Thank you for a wonderful tutorial.
I hate hinges😂
Thank you! Me too! haha 😄
How pretty! I love how they matched up where they hinge. What a coincidence! Great job! How much resin did it take in total? Thank you.
Thank you Vsv! 😊💓
I'll need to go back and look at my notes. I'm sorry, I'm trying to remember to state the amount of resin I use as I go. :/
So cool that it matched up!
Can I ask what camera you use to film your videos?
Thanks Jayelle! ♡ And right?? I sounded a bit silly on video... but i was just so surprised how that happened! haha.
I made this board a few months ago but still haven't tried attaching the hinges...lol. I wonder if attaching the hinges with uv resin to hold them in place while you drill would help? ❤
That's a great idea! Let me know if you try it! :)
Do you reuse your cups with the measurements on them? If so, how do you clean them? Love your projects!
I hope you took notes on how much resin you had to total out with mixing.
Yes! :)
How much epoxy resin do I need total? I have the mold, but I can't figure out how much it needs.
I have a question about the resin you use. I use the same brand and I see people using that bubble remover machine. thought about getting one but I really don't have a problem with bubbles. what is you feedback on that?

So, my dad says try super gluing the hinges on first
Good idea!!
❤
Thank you Luvpig! 😊
