I only spoke to Jimmy a couple of times (I'm kicking myself for not seeking him out more), but for someone SO accomplished, he couldn't have been more humble. We're so lucky to have this video of him.
I searched Jimmy Wyble after hearing an old Bob Wills tune in which Bob said “ think nothing of it friends, that’s Jimmy Wyble on the standard guitar”....... may I say there’s nothing standard about Jimmys playing, very enjoyable to my ears and a man enjoying his craft ....... thank you for this post ❤️
Once again thank you for these great clips. Jimmy seems to be a great character and also retains that sense of awe and excitement that all the greats seem to possess. please convey my very best wishes to him from Ireland
"Nobody Else But Me" is an apt song for a musician so amazingly original and unique.
I love his advanced harmonic meaderings, just gets me all goosebumpy and almost high. Beautiful crystaline yet warm and happy sounds. Great.

So this gentleman playing is the infamous Jimmy Wyble ?
Yes it is. Jimmy played at this tea house weekly for awhile; the unaware clanged their dishes and missed out. Wonderful guy and wonderful musician.
